- Ichiran, the best ramen restaurant in the world?
If you’ve never had real ramen before, please allow me a moment to describe the deliciousness. Picture fresh-cooked noodles, rich, savory broth, the perfect amount of spice, and if you want, a few slices of pork and a half-cooked egg.
Ichiran specializes in tonkotsu ramen, which is a pork-based broth. They make their own flour-based noodles and their own special red spicy powder.
When you enter any Ichiran, your first stop (presuming there’s no line) is to get a ticket. There aren’t many options.
Basically, your choose is a bowl the ramen itself (around $7) and if you want to add extra pork, an egg (I do), tea, beer, and so on. You can also order kae-dama (extra noodles) ahead of time, if you’re the type of person that plans ahead. You can buy it later if you’re not, and somehow have leftover broth.

すすらないと味わいが半減するけど、無理もいえないところ。本来は調理しているところをお客に見せるのが安心感があって人気があります。特製は食べたことがないので今度行ってみますね。

When I saw it , I think 超かた isn’t said “Chokata” in Fukuoka.
It’s called “barikata” by natives.
You are talking about Hakata Dialect. Well yeah, you are right. Fukuokeans say usually barikata instead of chokata.

I heard the news lately. Ichiran Ramen costs more than double in NYC and people are pissed. It costs like $7 in Japan.

Feel Fukuoka Japan I usually eat them with roast pork,boiled egg and Negi, in spicy level 4! l'm from Fukuoka and i really love this ramen haha:)

私も興味ありまして、アメリカ人数人に天下一品を試してもらった事があります。やはりコッテリすぎるラーメンは日本人と同じくらいの割合で好き嫌いがハッキリ分かれます。
天下一品は豚骨ではなく鶏ガラと野菜を煮込んでこってりさせたスープなんですけどね…
家系ラーメンは受けがよさそうですね〜

博多に行ったら屋台で豚骨ラーメンを頼んでも500円、さらには一杯290円の店もありその安さも魅力だと思います。高い博多ラーメンなんて邪道だ！
