Director P. Bharathiraja received prestigious S.S.Vasan Award. Actress Radhika presented the award, following this Director S.P.Muthuraman, Parthiban, Vetrimaran, Mishkin, Selvaraghavan & Dhanush took the stage to felicitate him in this edition of Ananda Vikatan Cinema Viruthugal 2019.
Bharathiraja is an Indian film director who works mainly in the Tamil film industry. Making his debut in 1977 with 16 Vayathinile, he is known for realistic and sensitive portrayals of rural life in his films.

@@monkysonky Because Muthal mariyathai broke the stereotype love stories before and after..aboorva ragangal is also there.. but its actually coming of age movie.. just physical attraction teenage problem type.. even till day no one has taken risk to take a platonic love film like Muthal mariyadhai.. between a very matured man and a very young girl.. .. beauty of the film is Radha and shivaji don't even touch each other not even in a single scene.. such love is called platonic in English..That is why it is a unique film in that category..such movies are common in the west but in Tamil cinema it is one of the first..

True , SPM is very humble, he was seen praising actor Vimal while he has directed 10 kamalhassan films & 25 Rajini films
Here too he was appreciative of Srinivasan sir as oppposed to vetri maran , myskkin & Ranjith who not only promote violence in their films but are very abrasive in real life too
