He didn’t use to do this, i actually remember him talking about consciously doing that. For a while there, he actually apologized for every time he did say I haha
Can we just take a moment to appreciate etho He has done 550 episodes, multiple word tours, and none of them have been boring. He has been doing this series for almost 10 years, and this world for almost 9 years, and that dedication is rare to see. He takes the time to go through his entire world and shows *Everything*. And he also has 2 other series going on at the same time (TerraFirmaPunk and hermitcraft). He is the only youtuber I have notifications for and I am always happy to see an etho vid in my subscription feed. He doesnt care about likes, views and subs (A: Because he still does TerrafirmaPunk even though it gets him less views, he just does it for fun, B: He doesnt end with "Like and subscribe", he just says ""Take care, bye bye") Thank you etho, for this and all the other series you do...you were one of the first youtubers I watched and you even got me into minecraft! Keep doing what you are doing! (also can I point out that like to dislike ratio) As for now, I got my snacks ready for this almost 2 hour vid!
Literally gonna cry the day he stops recording. I feel the same way he has brought me so much enjoyment over the years Omg I cant believe it's been 10 years ahhh. it still feels like yesterday when I was watching his Ftb series along with paks bdubs and gene. Can we please get UA-cam to put him down in the yt Hall of fame for the massive amount of dedication hes given to his fans these last years. He deserves it.
When you realize that Etho not only has a lot of personal firsts in this world, but also a lot of actual firsts in the minecraft community. Etho being the innovator he is is the reason half of the things used in the redstone contraptions got to be used by the community.
I may have misunderstood but he said those were the ones where they got corrupted in an update and lost their data. I imagine the book used to say more than that but only the first line remains or something
The good thing with the library is they're all labelled up so finding the original was very easy! It used to say: "Hey Etho, I have a question: Do you still play with the Midnight society? I used to really enjoy the PvP stuff you did, and I noticed you haven't done anything with them for a long time, or at least haven't recorded it." ~FA1ALERR0R, 20th April 2014 Clearly just the first word has been saved sadly.
This man literally carried a generation. I’ve watched this guy since 6th grade and now I’m in my sophomore year of college. Thank you for bringing me so much joy all these years.
That's one of my favorite parts of this tour. How many things he can casually state that he invented, because he has. Even though there are minecrafters who get far more technical with the code on new updates coming out, Ergo still gets to be credited with original designs on things as crucial as the hopper clock.
I kinda hoped that when he mentioned the BUD-switches he'd throw in a little reference to the fact that *he's the one who first showcased their practical use, and NAMED THEM*
That's why we've stayed. I believe it was an episode when he was working on the trophy room that he went through viewer stats. His viewer's age has steadily increased over the years because unlike with most UA-camrs there is a specific age demographic they appeal to, we never grew out of Etho.
I was about 10 I think. I don't remember exactly when I started watching Etho but I do remember seeing Fallen Kingdom by Captain Sparkelz and then Bite Sized Minecraft by Seth in school. That's when I started watching Stampy/Etho/Seth a lot.
I have come up with a term for telling how old something is in Etho's world, instead of Carbon dating like with fossils, instead we are New Block Dating, because Etho goes oo shiny over every new block as the new best thing, and incorporates it into his builds, and you can tell exactly what version those buildings were made in.
Favorite Build: Wilson hands down. It's kind of insane to think about but Wilson is the reason for my existence. As a kid listening to etho explain the logic of that project, it blew my mind and got my engineering brain gears to start turning, It inspired me to get deep into redstone throughout my teens, which lead me to learning programing through junior/high school, which landed me my great software development job of 4 years I currently have and I'm almost done with my comp sci bachelors. It blows my mind when the world tours come out because I always forget the older projects as the years go on. I was fresh out of elementary school when I first started watching etho, Now I'm old enough to drink. Watching this caused a lot of good childhood memories to resurface (I had a flashback to you originally building the donation trees talking about potentially streaming and after watching that episode I was trying to convince my dad to let me force him to support you because I wanted a tree, Unfortunately I never convinced him :/ ). I sincerely want to thank etho for the decade of entertainment and dedication. I will continue to watch and support for as long as you keep producing content. All love
I’m 25 years old now and I probably stopped watching you about 4 or 5 years ago but I’m glad you’re still going strong and it’s nice to see the same world haha. Was watching you when o was in high school and now I’m a “grown adult” and revisiting a lot of the old channels I used to watch and it’s crazy. Much love hope you have a good 10 more years plus :)
I still haven't processed the fact that the series is nearing ten years old. Actually, I think this was the first recurring series I ever followed on UA-cam at all.
It was very touching. To have our acknowledgement of him turned back at us, showing that he is seeing that we are the ones sticking by his side through these past 550 episodes and numerous others.
@@timma628 Ikr! He's the one who inspired me starting my engineering career, and now I make games for a living and I'm in my 30s. But every time I see Etho's video I can get something new out of it -- he still inspires me every time. Amazing.
Man, this can be renamed to the "Here's a neat thing that doesn't work anymore" episode. I'm joking. Honestly it's genuinely impressive with how much of the older stuff still works to some degree after this much time, I guess Mojang has gotten somewhat decent with not wrecking things after every update. I also appreciate the fact that Etho tends to build completely new farms or machines instead of ripping out or refurbishing the old ones. It really makes the world feel like a Minecraft time machine. But man, 9 years. I started watching around the time you started Wilson, which was 7 years ago. Back then I was huge with the whole Minecraft boom. At one time I probably watched Yogscast, Sky, Ragegamingvideos, CaptainSparklez, AH, and probably a dozen more I don't even remember. And all of them I either lost interest in or they ended up pivoting to other games, and then I lost interest in them (except Sips, he's an absolute treasure). Everyone except this one Canadian UA-camr, who I still watch every video he posts religiously after 7 years. Part of that I feel is a testament to how incredible Minecraft is as a game, and how much dev support it has received over the years to always add something new. But the bigger part is the love and effort you put into every singe one of your videos. The fact you edit down hours and sometimes days worth of footage into a single episodes, or that you make redstone contraptions that my plebeian mind can't even comprehend (I still don't even understand how the sheep farm works), or how you always challenge yourself with each project to build in new styles or make something that you thought might of not even been possible, or it's because you don't plug your social media or your Patreon or your sponsors, and instead your videos are just you playing Minecraft. For me though, his video have been an escape. No discussions about politics or current events, basically nothing irl except the occasional anecdote about his sleep schedule, it's like each video is a 20-30 minute portal to somewhere else where I can forget everything and just be happy. And fter looking at the essay I just wrote, I just want to say thank you for all of the amazing videos of you playing this amazing game, and for being an amazing person in general. Oh and my fav build is the cactus farm, because it looks like what every single person would build for the first time playing this game.
I agree 100% (even about sips lol!). With all the shouting voices in social media and advertisements and plugs on youtube, this channel is like an oasis of just pure genuine content. He's not trying to sell us anything except maybe the idea that onions were created by Satan
I agree so much. This is what I love about Etho. All of his videos take me away from whatever struggles are going on in life and you just get some peace. No politics, pandemics, asking to be famous etc. Just pure content of joy... except for onions 🤣
Your comment about how your viewers are "growing up with you" really hit me because I realized I was one of those people who crossed over to the over 18 age demographic. I still remember which episode of your singleplayer series I started watching you, and I genuinely still feel the same feeling of excitement every time you upload like I did back in 2013. Different series would start and end, but your singleplayer has been the one constant and these world tours are a reminder of that. Because I started watching you at episode 284, I'd have to say that one of my favorite builds is Etho's Lab. Not only are the double chests full of potions super satisfying to look at, you made really great use of the new hardened clay blocks aesthetics-wise. The Ender Ender 2.0 is definitely an honorable mention because I love seeing all the endermen dying at once to a blast and then hearing the tinkling of xp orbs immediately after. You never fail to make me smile and I can't thank you enough for turning around so many of my more sucky days because you blessed us with an Etho upload :) I can't wait to see what you have in store for us in the future!
Can we just appreciate that Etho says “We” and doesn’t say “I” he built it all himself and he still says “We” it just shows how much he likes the community
Things Etho missed on this tour: - The original dual cave spider farm (incomplete & broken) - The Thorns-based dual cave spider farm (kinda broken) - The Mini-Base (actually is now a feature in the game now) - The original Blaze Farm - The broken skeleton farm (where all the glass near the Pixel is, Etho just missed it) - The "realistic caving" cave - The portal-based obsidian farm - The nether village experiment (the one in the middle of a lava ocean) - The desert well lava trap Things Etho intentionally missed on this tour - General Spaz's House
When he said that thing about his demographics growing up it kinda made me emotional, pretty bonkers the loyalty in the etho community. I started watching in middle school and now I’m a 3rd year at college. I’ve watched every LP episode all the way through and I’m gonna keep doing that as long as I have time. Something about etho just brings comfort. This was a really good world tour too, felt very candid (I guess most of the stuff on this channel is) I think my favorite build is the man cave storage room with the shutters. I remember watching you build that as a kid and thinking it was the most magical build ever. Love this channel and hope you still enjoy making videos.
ngl I shed a tear since I remember watching him begin building the library in middle school and here I am graduated from high school all these years later still appreciating ethos content. I think thats my favourite build personally since those videos helped me get through the day.
I remember being in fourth grade talking to my friends about how I was into Minecraft videos. I used to recommend Etho to all my friends and I’m still watching him as a 19 yr old in college.
Dear Etho: It's truly remarkable that you've made it to episode 550 of this series. A decade ago, I found your EATS road tutorial, before you even started this series. I think I was your 300th-ish subscriber, or something like that. Everyday when I came home from school, I'd check your channel for a new video. For the last 10 years, this series (and your channel in general) has been a positive constant in your subscriber's lives. The nostalgia, combined with new content, that you bring us is not something that we take for granted. Speaking of nostalgia, here's an idea that could be an interesting way to finish up the library. You could add some library rooms, or some sort of bulletin board, where your viewers can suggest an episode/moment that stood out to them and have it documented in a book or on a sign. A 'hall of fame', or timeline, of sorts. It's kind of like the mural idea at the guardian farm, but could document more moments (and feels more official since its in the library). Anyways, to answer your question: my favorite build has to be both of the Etho's Lab potion rooms. Each of them were novel for the time and just looked plain cool!
Amazed at that statistic at the end there. Etho is like a constant in the ever changing UA-cam landscape and I love it. I think I've watched every video. All of his maps with beef and pause. His terraria series. His project ozone (Oh, taxes. How we love 'em!) Etho is an era of UA-cam. He's representative of the childhood of tens, if not hundreds of thousands of people. Thank you for the ride, Etho. Never change.
I'm 55 yrs old. I've been watching since Chocolate Island. My favorite build ever is the spiral water transport for the cave spiders. I saw that and immediately had to duplicate it on the server I was running at the time. Mine didn't work quite as well as yours, but it was good enough, and it was fun to build! Congratulations on your success! I'm really proud to have my name on one of your trees.
Oh wow thats actually really cool! I've always wondered what ethos audience age range was. Majority fall under my category of having watched him in middle school and now being in college. I love the variety of the audience that ethos brings in!
@@captsnuggles9224 I'm 26 and don't even remember when I started watching :P but it was maaany years ago now. Don't watch any other minecraft content, and rarely play anymore, but still watches every episode (to be honest it's all about Etho, I would keep watching even if he switched to other games)
It’s weird how familiar Etho feels to me. I guess it makes sense with how long I’ve watched him but every time I watch his videos it feels like catching up with and hanging out with an old friend. Idk if that’s even a good way to explain it but anyways I’m very grateful for all the smiles, laughs, and hours upon hours of good memories that Etho has given me.
The fact Etho invented BUD switches and hopper clocks is nuts. I know there are others who came up with these things independantly of Etho, but it's still impressive to be one of the first to find something and then to implement it in a way that made it popular.
It's actually pretty crazy to think that Etho has been present for a large part of my life. I started watching the LP way back in 2011, about midway through the Chocolate Island world. That was 9 years ago, and considering I'm 21 years old now, that's almost half my life ago! I don't comment much (well never really), but I figure this special occasion is a good time to do so. If you happen to read this Etho, I just want you to know that I appreciate all the years of entertainment that you've provided! I really appreciate that even through all these years, you've always remained grounded and humble. We've never needed to see your face, know about your personal life, or buy any branded merch (even though I probably would at this point, just to support). Instead, your dedication to remain consistent, hardworking, and relatable has been more than enough to keep me and countless others intrigued for all these years. Anyway, here's to 550 more episodes!
To be *entirely* fair, he didn't *exactly* invent it, as one person found them before he did, but Etho was the first to show their actual use, and he did come up with the name
@@aydenzinter2849 Well the concept was first discovered by someone else, they just didn't know if you could use it for anything yet. Etho was the first to actually use it with redstone
There's so much I could say, but I'll keep it short and to the point. Etho, thank you for being such a consistent part of my life the past decade. When life is messy, when life kicks me in the teeth, and especially when life is great, I always know I can rely on a wholesome video from you to brighten my day. Life may change, our situations change, but I can always come back here. Thank you Etho.
This legendary man not only built the craziest crap ever and entertained us for 9 years but he only put like 5 ads on his almost 2 hour long video. We need more people like you.
I was like 13 when I started watching the series. I’m now 19 and I guess I’m part of the demographic that’s grown up with the series. Thank you Etho! Your series rivals cartoons I used to watch and I’m still very interested in this LP. My favorite build is either Gold Farm number 1 or the Ender Ender 2.0.
wow. I'm in pretty much the same boat as you, started watching when I was like 12, maybe 13, now I'm 19. It blows my mind how long this has been going, I still get excited when I see an upload. There was defiantly a point where I stopped watching and didn't think Minecraft was cool or interesting anymore, but that mindset changed.
Even through the troubled and chaotic times we alll face in life, especially this year, one thing always remains constant, as it always has: great & entertaining content from Etho. I've been following your stuff on and off for, at the very least, 7 years. I was watching your stuff along w/other content creators' stuff before I even got Minecraft, in October 2013. You're one of the very few I still watch and truly enjoy. Watching this world tour gave me so many "hey, I remember when he built that!" moments, it's crazy.. I don't remember many of the actual, *real life* things I did in my younger years, yet, I remember some small silly things like that plant monster and etc. You and your content truly were a huge part of my childhood/teen years, it all impacted me in ways I hadn't even thought of until now. Thank you. Thank you for crafting my childhood. Keep up the outstanding work, continuing to craft and mold and shape other people's lives through your content.
This is sort of crazy, but i've been watching your videos since elementary and now i'm in my first year of university. I only really thought about that when you mentioned your current age demographics and it's crazy to think about how big of an impact you have had on my life. I only really started to play games from watching your videos, and that was kind of the stepping stone for me first into cube world (which is actually the first game I ever bought), then terraria to don't starve and basically everything else you've uploaded to this channel. Series such as your CTM playthroughs became a transition to some of the other mindcrack guys, namely the rest of team canada, and I began to watch a bunch of their other videos as well. I especially enjoyed the uncharted territory series and I've watched those videos along with your LP series, terrafirmacraft and terraria playthroughs multiple times. Recently i've been playing a CTM with some new friends in my faculty and I probably wouldn't have gotten to know them if it weren't for my love of minecraft that began with you. My favourite build is probably the donor tree farm because it reminds me of the old tnt cannons you used to have for donors. Back then I remember always wishing I could donate, but at that age I never really could. Aesthetically, I love the tunnel that connects to the potion lab and mob farm in the man cave, and I think the nexus turned out really well too. And of course, there's the potion lab itself, which I will always aspire to build in one of my worlds. I can't believe how far you've come and I'm glad to see that there is no foreseeable end to all your enthusiasm and creativity. The hermitcraft videos are great to watch and your noteblock tunes always put a smile on my face, but this series will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you for all the memories and amazing content you put together each week and wishing you all the best in the future.
@@ryanjansenbaranda8556 if you got any other snack would you do 2 hours with them? Ofc not wtf is you’re logic like oh you got popcorn so sad that you take 2 hours to finish is who tf said you do 2 hours with it
@@ryanjansenbaranda8556 It was a BIG pizza. Family size XXL of course ;) Nothing better than having the same pizza for dinner... and then breafast lunch and dinner again lol
Hey, good luck at college! I'm a senior in my final semester. I'd watched a few of Etho's videos before college, but I started watching this LP world during my freshman year of college, going back to Episode 105 and catching up with the rest of the series.
This is my first time watching, and I realized I recognized the design of his storage room. I realized it looked and functioned similar to Petezahutts storage room in HTM season 1. I rewatched the episode (cuz I watched HTM as it came out years ago) and realized he actually credited Etho for the design. Little me liked the design so much that now, years later, I use the same design for my own storage rooms in almost every world Ive played on since. They say you probably use hermit designs for things without even realizing it, and I had no idea how true that was until this moment.
I still remember when I discovered the channel, I was super young and didn't even understand English at the time, but I saw your eats road video in ep 376 and it was just fascinating, before that I never had any idea how far survival Minecraft could go, I just started watching every video you posted even without understanding much, and I think the constant immersion in English was one of the big things that made me fluent, it's crazy to think I'm now 20 and on episode 550, thanks for creating something so special, never forget the positive impact you create on people's lives :)
It’s been that way for 50+ episodes for me, I’ve gotten pretty used to it at this point and even welcome it. This is episode 550 after all, this world’s huge!
Honestly, during the shadered opening scenes, after two years of catching up with the series from episode 105, I got almost emotional, in the way no other UA-cam video made me feel. Etho, you friggin' legend, -- with this world, you created something so much more than just UA-cam content, something far beyond any single game, -- you really poured your soul into this world and built something in your likeness. And that's why we enjoy this world so much: because it reflects your unique humor, quirkiness, and creativity. I haven't met you, but without you really knowing this, you've been a really good friend to me. Thank you!
Etho talking at the end about how we’re all grown up now got me 😭 your redstone was one of the first things that piqued my interest in computer science, and I’m now nearing the end of my bachelors in cybersecurity. Thank you for everything, man.
OH MY GODDDD this is INSANE, congratulations!! I have so much love for Etho and all the memories he's given us, I hope he sees your comment, what a true legend🥺🥺
This is probably going to get buried but when I first learned about Minecraft I started to watch a lets play on UA-cam and it taught me so much about the game and gave me ideas on what I wanted to do with my own worlds. well I stopped watching the series and after a couple years I couldn't find the videos anymore so I thought they were lost, but I've started watching your videos lately because of Hermitcraft and in this video I you showed your first world you had from all those years ago and I realized you were the UA-camr that taught me about Minecraft. So I thank you for all of the great experiences and all the great times.
About your point at the end, Yes! Absolutely! Been watching this series since 2010! Since the very very start! And what a journey it has been. I was 8 years old when i started to watch you, and now I've grown up and am 18! From a little girl, to a woman! Many things have changed in my life, but the one thing that has been consistent is, not only my love for Minecraft, but my love for your Let's Play! Keep up the amazing world, Etho, I do not plan to stop watching any time soon, here's for 8 more years! Cheers!
bro that "Disgruntled villager" blowing up the town has to be one of the most creative and unique things ive ever seen in a minecraft survival world Good work man
Over 8 years ago now my best friend forced me to make a youtube account so we could watch the latest episode of Ethos LP. Now im in the middle of college and am about to turn 21. This series has been a part of my life for almost half of it now and im still always waiting with baited breath for what is gonna happen next. If your reading this Etho, THANK YOU! For 550 LP episodes, for the Hermitcraft, for the Project Ozone, for the Team Canada, even for the Don't Starve, Terraria is EZ, and bi yearly hearthstone updates. You are consistently a bright part of my week and I wouldn't know what to do without it.
Its so weird to think how I've quite literally grown up with you over the past 8 years. I started watching you when I was 12 and now I'm 20 and I still enjoy it just as much. I would say my favorite builds have been Drearyville and the 404 Error room because they're so cool, but I also love the nexus because of how amazing it was, and also how you told stories about how you used to hack and learned to program back in the day since I am CS major. :) Please keep making amazing videos Etho.
same! my friend got me into his vids back in 6th grade, now i’m a college sophomore and still love em. he’s evolved with his audience and always stayed the best
Does anyone else also remember the Easter egg cottage that was on the top of the mountain near spawn? At least, I'm pretty sure it was an Easter egg, I subbed somewhere near the start of the new LP world but I haven't seen every episode yet. I remember downloading the world at whichever world tour happened after I first subscribed and finding that after all the Spazz trolling felt really cool, like I was a part of something more secret than the main LP watchers.
2.5 million!! how excellent its been growing up watching your videos, youve inspired and comforted millions of people for well over a decade, i cannot think of anyone more deserving of admiration. excellent job (:
Etho you have been a part of my life for over 8 years now. This is such a big milestone of 550 episodes and still all so entertaining. I love you and your content, thank you for this tour i have my snacks!
Etho: ive been seeing the viewer demographic and seeing the number of younger viewers drop, meaning you guys have all been watching me for all these years and grew up during that time. so thanks for sticking with me for all these years. Me: 🥺, ofc homie
I haven't played Minecraft in years, besides showing my cousin how to do certain things, or when me and my friends get drunk and think it's a good idea lol. But I will always watch Etho. He's such a good dude.
@@quinnpecsok8416 I'M LITERALLY GONNA CRY Etho holds such a special place in all of our hearts I can't believe the sense of nostalgia he brings all of us, I LOVE THIS OMG
Man I got a lot to say: - Does anyone remember which episode revolves around Tom and Jeff? That was one of my favourites but I forget which one it is - It's so funny that I recognise the names of those broken pics :P - I dunno if anyone remembers but the floor of the donation tree room is off-center by one block - I think there's a type of beauty in having Emerald City turn into a storage room. Shows the age of the world in a cool way :D - My snacks didn't last this mega episode :P - I have a million more thoughts, but thank you so much Etho!! You're absolutely amazing in all accounts :) Blessings man
The Tom & Jeff gag was around for a while. Etho would make jokes here and there about it. Kinda like the "your mum" jokes or the rare appearances of General Spaz.
I love this comment. I remember finding his LP when he was only on ep 2 of Chocolate Island. Things have gone so far and I never would have imagined things being how amazing they are.
I realised I haven't put a comment here but I've been watching you Etho since the dwarves vs zombies era and that series really piqued my interest in minecraft and I'm glad it did. And over the many many years here I am still watching the same Etho as I was back then with the same fondness for the game and the friends I play with as when I first found it. Thank you Etho.
Hey Etho! So, I’ve a question for you. One I havent seen many ask for a while. I’ve watched you for the past 7-8 years of my life on again off again. Everytime I’ve been able to count on you for a nice stress relieving episode. You are a person who brings alot of positive vibes and happiness no matter what you post or write. Just going through a dozen or so comments in your last few videos to see several people who feel the same way as I, tells as much. So my question for you is this: Is the man behind the monitor (you) doing well? I dont mean in a sense of “are you having a good day” But in a sense of “are you happy Where you are right now? Do you enjoy activities? Meet up with friends or hang out with the family alot? A girlfriend perhaps? You honestly dont even need to answer detailed if you dont want to. I’d just like to know wether you as a person Etho, is happy. Too often people who make others smile, secretly go around with alot of heavy stuff and rarely tell others or talk to others and frankly I cant shake the thought that you could potentionally feel something similar. My question is in a sense a kind of “check up” lol. Because you being happy makes me all the more happier watching your content =)
He’s answered a lot of comments like this, he’s always been positive. Plus, I don’t think he could do hundreds of episodes without a lot of motivation.
Darky it’s a good question but I doubt he’ll answer it doesn’t suit the happy vibe his videos bring. I do hope he’s happy thou I wouldn’t be able to watch in good conscience knowing he’s unhappy while making these videos
Master Zelda Yeah, I dont mind him not anwsering, Its also my way of saying we care about him too, if he read it, he knows we are thinking of him so its ok if he doesnt anwser it. And I have it exactly the same way as you put it.
Nick Wilson He has? Well it doesnt hurt to ask every once in a while, its a good way to remind someone who does so much that the care goes both ways :-)
Darky he’s talked about getting himself motivated to make videos, keeping active with exercise, etc. he doesn’t let on much about his personal life, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have one. Edit: also keeping a good sleeping schedule. A depressed person doesn’t have any of that (generally)
When I first started watching Etho, I was in college almost 9 years ago. I watched Etho while I was programming, after breakups, after my motorcycle accident. I'm glad you're still making videos. It'll be a sad day for me when you stop, but the great thing about your videos is that I can rewatch old series too. I'm actually in the middle of my second rewatch of Project Ozone 2.
Pfft amateur! I’m on my 4th rewatch of Project Ozone 2 and like my 6th rewatch of his LP! Lol seriously though it’s enjoyable just to have them on as background noise, very nostalgic and brings back some great memories and laughs.
Ashkan Kiani man, this comment got me. Ethos been such a constant in my life too. I feel like his videos are the ultimate comfort, 9 years on I still get excited at a new upload
Indeed. They're a great comfort. I just got to the part where he threw the endest pearl and even though I knew it was coming, I still laughed out loud. I've never met the man, but I have a lot of love for Etho.
I love that Etho and Bdubs love each other so much that they make the other grow in the part of minecraft they are famous for. Redstone with Bdubs and Etho giving inspiration credit to Bdubs always gives me a big smile.
Its a great feeling that I remember every single build in this tour and remember watching those videos when they came out all those years ago. I remember Etho hooking up the slime farm water streams and how difficult those slimes were to wrangle. I remember him building the cave spider farm! Incredible. Hopper hopper dropper dropper. dropper dropper hopper hopper. hopper hopper dropper dropper. ROFLCOPTER. I remember the first episode that was introduced... I still wonder how he got those llamas to wander around sandy city like that... Heres to 550 more!

I play modded as I never really got into Vanilla and I'm amazed at what can be accomplished in Vanilla from watching this video. Really some top-notch ingenuity.
Thanks so much Etho. When I was a kid I was going through a really hard time and Minecraft was one of the things that helped me through it. But I only ever came to like Minecraft because you showed me what people can do with it. After a few years I started going through rough times again in high school and started binging your Project Ozone 2 series and getting back into watching Minecraft on UA-cam, now it's honestly one of the highlights of my week when I get to watch a good episode of Minecraft content, and in the end it all goes back to you. Thank you for always inspiring me and the entire community. Your creativity and humor are absolutely iconic. PS I think it's really amazing that the famous Etho Hopper Clock that powers the mob system in my old world as well as countless other contraptions sprung up from the minds of Minecrafters was created to be Wilson's heart.
I remember when you made Wilson and my mind was just blown. That anyone could do that in Minecraft really made me see it was something special. It's crazy that a part of that is in my world
I always laugh whenever the dual blaze farm gets shown since it reminds me of that time someone told etho there was a TRIPLE blaze spawner like 8 thousand blocks away from 0 0 and poor young etho fell for that xd
Historical note: this is actually the third LP world, not the second. Etho abandoned the first world after endermen were introduced and ruined his builds (back when they could move most things). He then played in a second world for three episodes (102-104), before abandoning it because the world gen changed (leading to weird biome transition lines), and the color of grass (he actually says this in 105; swamp grass changed from nice light green to a murky gray-green, and he was bummed out by it. His first base was in such a swamp). I feel old for remembering this... Looking back, I started playing when pistons were added (June 2011), and also started watching Etho (he was the first one I really started following) around that time. I first wanted to complete season 1, but I think I caught up around the time of the new world. Amazing that it's been going for all that time!
It's crazy to think how long it's been and I'm kind of sad I wasn't here watching around that time yet. I started playing this game in 2010 in the alpha because an older friend of mine send me a cracked version and told me to try it out. I think I bought the game in 2012 after they updated the game so people with a cracked Minecraft version couldn't join servers anymore and I think I started to get into watching youtube around that time as well. This was one of the first channels I found and subscribed to and combined with other channels I watched they basically taught me English (also in school of course). I don't even play the game myself anymore but watching Etho's videos is still a lot of fun and these world tours are always super nostalgic.
Been watching since ep 50ish, can say Ive missed a couple eps with life and stuff but ive always stuck around back then I was 10 years old, now I’m 24 life really flys, good to come back and see a world tour just to see what’s happened. Keep up the good work etho!
i never knew Etho, i watched yogscast, sparkles, achievement hunter. watched this to understand the hype, now i get it. its lovely seeing someone genuinely enjoying minecraft so wholly.
I hope we'll all be watching that with our families :) I've read in the comments of people who started watching in their teens and are now watching with their kids, absolute life goals for me (26, been around since ep. 150 :,) )
I remember you making that clock. You never finished it, but i used your concepts on a server i was playing on and actually finished it! It was a long time ago and the server no longer exists, but i had fun making it! Thank you for the inspiration Etho!
I love all the little gizmos that don’t work anymore. Especially the days when the UFO used to work. It always cracked me up to see the cows go flying. Also, I miss the sandy city llamas and their walking pattern. That was another awesome gizmo.
Its been years since I've last watched your videos. I recently started up Minecraft again, and a friend mentioned your username so I had to see how things are going. The years go by fast. It was wonderful to hear your laugh again and see the wonderful minecraft world you've created.
I love how Etho always says "we" and "our" for his singleplayer world. It really makes the community feel welcome and part of the whole series.
its a parasocial relationship but unlike other UA-camrs he doesn't exploit it for money
He didn’t use to do this, i actually remember him talking about consciously doing that. For a while there, he actually apologized for every time he did say I haha
this is so funny , this LP its communist right now every person watching contributes in making it since we watch :)
Yessss I love that. Such a small thing tells a lot about him
He started saying we and our a long time ago but ya
The first hopper clock was Wilson's heart? Yup I'm gonna cry now
Yep i thought that too! Though I've watched since even before he built Wilson i must've forgotten about that. Really caught me off guard! 😭
The very first hopper clock ever made was made to bring Wilson to life. Wow.
Is House's head anywhere nearby???
Yeah I knew he invented it but I assumed it was in a creative test world or something, who knew
Lol I remember it as a cool heartbeat thing at the time, kid me had no idea of how powerful it was.
I've watched Ethoslab for years and never thought we'd get here. So many memories in one little world.

It's been a journey
There is nothing little about this world.
Two little worlds
“a lot of people give me credit for inventing the hopper clock...” he knows damn well he invented the hopper clock but he still chooses to be humble
Can we just take a moment to appreciate etho
He has done 550 episodes, multiple word tours, and none of them have been boring.
He doesnt care about likes, views and subs (A: Because he still does TerrafirmaPunk even though it gets him less views, he just does it for fun, B: He doesnt end with "Like and subscribe", he just says ""Take care, bye bye")
Thank you etho, for this and all the other series you do...you were one of the first youtubers I watched and you even got me into minecraft! Keep doing what you are doing!
(also can I point out that like to dislike ratio)
As for now, I got my snacks ready for this almost 2 hour vid!

His most Prominent invention being the etho slab
He more or less popularized the Hopper Clock, invented the concept of EATS, and more.

Etho picks up a random book that was staying in here for years untouched.
The book : Hey
I may have misunderstood but he said those were the ones where they got corrupted in an update and lost their data. I imagine the book used to say more than that but only the first line remains or something
The good thing with the library is they're all labelled up so finding the original was very easy!
It used to say:
"Hey Etho, I have a question: Do you still play with the Midnight society? I used to really enjoy the PvP stuff you did, and I noticed you haven't done anything with them for a long time, or at least haven't recorded it." ~FA1ALERR0R, 20th April 2014

“I think this is the first [hopper clock] ever built in the game”
Casual flex
It should be called a Wilson clock tbh
I knew he invented the Etho clock (hopper clock) but I didn't know that the first one was Wilson's heart
That's one of my favorite parts of this tour. How many things he can casually state that he invented, because he has. Even though there are minecrafters who get far more technical with the code on new updates coming out, Ergo still gets to be credited with original designs on things as crucial as the hopper clock.
I kinda hoped that when he mentioned the BUD-switches he'd throw in a little reference to the fact that *he's the one who first showcased their practical use, and NAMED THEM*
Floris Bordewijk i cannot stress how important your comment is
Some call it "Etho clock"
Some call it "Hopper clock"
Now I call it "Wilson's heart"
Is that a House reference?
@@martenveersoo8502 I'm pretty sure it's a Cast Away reference
This guy basically helped a whole generation of kids grow up
That's why we've stayed. I believe it was an episode when he was working on the trophy room that he went through viewer stats. His viewer's age has steadily increased over the years because unlike with most UA-camrs there is a specific age demographic they appeal to, we never grew out of Etho.
Ronnoc527 I started watching him when I was about 7 or 8
I was about 10 I think. I don't remember exactly when I started watching Etho but I do remember seeing Fallen Kingdom by Captain Sparkelz and then Bite Sized Minecraft by Seth in school. That's when I started watching Stampy/Etho/Seth a lot.
Ronnoc527 I remember watching the first part of his Minecraft let’s play (the first world), and around the beginning of the current world
I've been watching Etho since I was around 12, I'm fucking 20 now lmfa9
I have come up with a term for telling how old something is in Etho's world, instead of Carbon dating like with fossils, instead we are New Block Dating, because Etho goes oo shiny over every new block as the new best thing, and incorporates it into his builds, and you can tell exactly what version those buildings were made in.
Honestly that has got to be the funniest thing about his building style considering he hasn't stopped and is still doing it in his nether base
What is the monstrosity....
Jim Eriksson all the blocks he never went oo shiny to
Favorite Build: Wilson hands down.
All love
That's amazing

Since around episode 49 for me. Takes me back. Had a small break a few years though, but I'm all caught up and back at it now.
I got in when he was around or past episode 100 already, but I started from episode 1.
When Etho acknowledged how we've all grown up with him at the end. :-, )
Hey, Etho talks about more than just his sleep schedule, he also takes time to explain why he hates onions.
Etho is like that one TV show that you watched as a kid and it just never ends and never gets old
my guy wrote an essay on a youtube video comments, I respect that
I agree so much. This is what I love about Etho. All of his videos take me away from whatever struggles are going on in life and you just get some peace. No politics, pandemics, asking to be famous etc. Just pure content of joy... except for onions 🤣

Dylan Campbell Lol well hello there!
Same here, I’m literally watching this with my wife right now lmao

Dear Etho:
It's truly remarkable that you've made it to episode 550 of this series.

Same here. I'm also about to turn 21 in a few days
About to turn 22 and I did the same, I know he's mentioned he makes enough off the youtube videos itself a while ago but I really wish he had merch:(
same!
Yeah same, I used to watch him on my iPod touch while I would pretend to be asleep lmao
Same here man. I'm 21 and I've been watching Etho since I was 13. I would love to meet him so I could tell him what he means to me.
MY FAVOURITE BUILD WAS THE CLAY U NEVER MINED IN SEASON 1
YES!!!!
“Built this when bud switches were new in the game”
*Humbly skips over the fact that he invented the bud switch
And the etho clock which only he calls a hopper clock. AND the etho door which only he calls the spiral hole door.
To be *entirely* fair, he didn't *exactly* invent it, as one person found them before he did, but Etho was the first to show their actual use, and he did come up with the name
@@swiftlymurmurs that's pretty much what inventing is
@@aydenzinter2849 Well the concept was first discovered by someone else, they just didn't know if you could use it for anything yet. Etho was the first to actually use it with redstone
@@swiftlymurmurs therefore he invented it.

"and the reason we did this, is... just cause it looked funny... and they kinda push you around" wholesome etho moment
Eric Hughes i cant believe i started watching him at 11/12 and now im 17
Same thing haha (not the favorite build tho :p )
Abe those are the videos that made me want to play Minecraft. I love the series and everything is iconic
I think this legally makes Etho everyone's stepdad
Keep up the outstanding work, continuing to craft and mold and shape other people's lives through your content.
beautifully written
I love what you said.
Yep basically what he said hahaha
Same here man, well said
same here, i
This is sort of crazy, but i've been watching your videos since elementary and now i'm in my first year of university.
Thank you for all the memories and amazing content you put together each week and wishing you all the best in the future.
aww yes
Hey! I hope University is going well!
Ergo, the Tom and Jeff story would be a great mural idea.
YES I have been begging for that! I think the first episode I watched was when Jeff escaped.
Great idea, it could be elder guardian, chocolate island, tom and Jeff, and then something else.
Jonah Mudlaff do you have an episode number? I don’t remember ever watching that one
@@nickwilson3499 Well it was a long time ago. I will look I hope I'm not remembering it wrong.

By Far the best minecraft let’s play series. i’ve been watching this series since 2015, and i’ve been enjoying every episode thus far. This is so cool
1:30:44 - Etho, you built that clock in my first week of high school. Now I'm in my first week of college, and you still haven't finished it!
A B why you do this to me, I see comments like this and realize how long I have been watching Etho😂
He built that clock when I was in elementary school, now I'm in highschool haha
He built Emerald city when I was in middle school, now i'm in university, has been a long ass time.
Hey, good luck at college! I'm a senior in my final semester. I'd watched a few of Etho's videos before college, but I started watching this LP world during my freshman year of college, going back to Episode 105 and catching up with the rest of the series.
Cut him some slack, he only had nine years

I just subscribe at episode 500, so I guess I'm a cool kid, right?

Just wanted to let you know that your English is better than a lot of native speakers :)
same goes for me I am also 20

Me being a new Etho viewer I’m watching this and his whole world is just “but wait there’s more”
One of us! One of us! Welcome!
There are actually a few projects that aren't shown in the tour and some mining areas.
Welcome to the community :) Etho is the best!
im new too! ive been watching him all of hermitcraft season seven and saw this and now im watching his world from here on out!

Yooo ethos redstone piqued my interest in computer science too!

Gavin Bean why there is no world download
It was Etho who got me into minecraft back in 2012 and now I'm teaching my daughter how to play!
Cheers!
The same is true for me! It's amazing how timeless this channel can be.
I was like 9 and I'm 19 now! Bet that makes etho feel a bit old though haha
That brighted my day

"Master Chief, mind telling me what you're doing on that ship?"
"Getting my snacks, Sir."
"Understandable, bring me some."
Same! Started watching around then and still watch to this day. CS major as well!

- My snacks didn't last this mega episode :P
- I have a million more thoughts, but thank you so much Etho!!
So my question for you is this:
Is the man behind the monitor (you) doing well? I dont mean in a sense of “are you having a good day”
But in a sense of “are you happy Where you are right now?
Etho: " the hopper clock"
Everyone else: "the Etho Hopper clock"
@Mach etho: "the me clock"

it would be kinda weird to say etho hopper clock for etho causes that's literally his name
Same thing with Etho door

I’ve always wondered if it was him that created that clock design. Now finally I have my answer. :-D

Ashkan Kiani he’s definitely provided a lot of happiness and entertainment to a lot of people
I love that Etho and Bdubs love each other so much that they make the other grow in the part of minecraft they are famous for. Redstone with Bdubs and Etho giving inspiration credit to Bdubs always gives me a big smile.
Its a great feeling that I remember every single build in this tour and remember watching those videos when they came out all those years ago. I always laugh whenever the dual blaze farm gets shown since it reminds me of that time someone told etho there was a TRIPLE blaze spawner like 8 thousand blocks away from 0 0 and poor young etho fell for that xd
In which episode was that? I‘m curious
What
I remember that. Lol.
This brought back memories
Wow!
His second world was awesome. Really cracked me up how much he got beaten by the mobs.
Been watching since ep 50ish, can say Ive missed a couple eps with life and stuff but ive always stuck around back then I was 10 years old, now I’m 24 life really flys, good to come back and see a world tour just to see what’s happened. Keep up the good work etho!
