O I all most forgot lady's and gentlemen Alex is the king of Sydney rock fish I learnt alot of this man the best I have ever seen. Much thanks to you Alex and thanks for sharing your knowledge and skill 🤜🤛
Hey Mark Thank very much for your kind words. I am just out there in social media and UA-cam and as a guide so I’m better known than some of the outstanding anglers out there that keep it quiet. It is a privilege to get great messages like yours. Thanks again mate 👍
Hey Vince The funny thing is that it is real hahahah I feel like a big kid just love it❤️ Just enjoying being there. Thanks heaps for mentioning you really like the videos.
The fight never gets old Alex 👍 .. Im actually surprised by the size of the rolling sinker Vs the waves and swell when you caught the First snapper. Im very novice, so I would have used a heavier sized sinker. You've taught me something today! Thank you
The great Aussie rock hopper/beach fisher, Frank Marshall, on concluding his chapter on rock fishing for snapper wrote: "...no fish not even the great grand-daddy of old-men snapper, is worth taking a risk for - be extra careful". Your face, Alex, is a mask of concentration and shows a full understanding and respect for the lumpy conditions at hand. Well done on your success but certainly no place for the inexperienced - me = intermediate you = highly advanced to put it into perspective.
The late Frank Marshall, what a legend!! One of our forefather to rock fishing. Had his book when I was a teenager. When I am in the rocks all my senses are heightened and I just feel alive, just love it! Mate your very kind and humble appreciate very much what you mentioned. You were underrating yourself I bet your better than what you give yourself credit for
Hi Tony Thanks mate , yes love the action rock fishing offers. More to come. The over there rod is great 👍 the sensitive tip with a strong back bone. It can lift fish up to about 2kg although Cliff fishing winding up sizeable fish for several metres can be difficult.
Hey mate thanks for liking the video appreciate your message. Well.. yes that would be one of the many I will be uploading in the future. Thanks for your request cheers
Hey George Bait was half to three quarter pillies and some large prawns like king, banana or endeavour. Squid strips as well. Hook sizes Mustard 92/54 or 92247 2/0 to 3/0 Thanks heaps 👍
Hi Alex, I'm based in Asia and eying the Daiwa Over There 1010M/MH for casting 20g lipped minnows into a rocky shore break (sea bass). Have you thrown any lures on the 109 you are using?
Dam good vid great knowledge like always very long time no see last time I seen you was bluefish maybe late 80s early 90s anyway great to see you still going strong keep it up from a old fishing mate (drop hands brother ) 💪
Hey Mark Super days back in the 80s-90s at bluefish awesome days Gold! Thanks heaps for mentioning you liked the video cheers mate. Going strong for now, and should be for a few more years hahah
Alex have you tried brimmed salted pilchards I get them from corrimal bait and tackle are any good for snapper or should I use fresh ones have caught tailor and salmon on the salted pilchards before would snapper take them or should I use the fresh ones?🐟
Hey Brett I salt down my own pilchards as I can control how salted my bait is. Some shops over salt their bait. Even though they are more resilient it may mot work as well if over salted. But yes snapper respond ok to salted bait.
Hey George so good that you have been inspired to hit the rocks again. A great time of the year as well and moving forward. Thanks very much super appreciated mate.
Alex you legend awesome lil session off the stones sick reddy beautiful fish snapper did he taste good? And how you eat him chilli snapper and fried rice frothing watching you fish thank God your on utube the Kelly slater of rock fishing eyes are wide open now going fishing cheers alex

I used a float and a ball sinker but the waves and wind kept moving it away in a different direction
awesome fishing Alex. Its inspiring to see with all your years of fishing you still get so excited doing it

Top video Alex. I’m going to come down there after the COVID stuff and have a session with you. Bloody awesome.
Hey Land and Bay fishing
Thanks very much. Very much appreciate you mentioning this. Those wild conditions you have to be on your toes hahah
Cheers
Another awesome video great fishing session mate. 👍🏽
Hey mate. Just fortunate to land that snapper. Very hard spot to wash up a fish especially in that disable swell.
Thanks heaps mate 👍
Wow brother.. Beautiful fish congrats 👍
Good luck to you my brother 🙏
Hey thanks very much can be difficult to film shoot and work. Capturing the right footage whilst filming is tuff.
Nice vids ,,,you show great passion with your fishing,,,, seen your using the new OVERTHERE rods ,,how do U find it, strength/action wise,, cheers
Hi Tony
Thanks mate , yes love the action rock fishing offers. More to come.
The over there rod is great 👍 the sensitive tip with a strong back bone. It can lift fish up to about 2kg although Cliff fishing winding up sizeable fish for several metres can be difficult.
Another great vid mate. Can you do an in depth bait rigging video for the different species like snapper, drummer, Groper etc?
Hey mate thanks for liking the video appreciate your message. Well.. yes that would be one of the many I will be uploading in the future. Thanks for your request cheers
Thanks Alex, my winter catch rate has improved a lot since your vids come out I look forward to learning more from you.

Hahah fish lover 🤣 cheers mate just having fun thanks for liking the vid 👍
Been fish here with alex crazy fish highly recommended
What bait and size hook were used? Awesome vid.
Hey George
Bait was half to three quarter pillies and some large prawns like king, banana or endeavour. Squid strips as well. Hook sizes Mustard 92/54 or 92247 2/0 to 3/0
Thanks heaps 👍
Are younusing 2 hooks boss? Or just 1 hook?
How heavy should I actually go in rods and lines? Also, what reel size is the best?
I use a heavy rod , 20-30 lb braid (American), 40-50lb leader, 8000 reel.
Great fish mate!
Just made it in this one 👌 only one good snapper fortunately. Liking your vids too buddy Cheers mate
Hi Alex, I'm based in Asia and eying the Daiwa Over There 1010M/MH for casting 20g lipped minnows into a rocky shore break (sea bass). Have you thrown any lures on the 109 you are using?
That outfit would work well for lure casting but it is a medium/ fast action. A fast action outfit may be better.
Great video Alex do you fish the ovens
Hi Skippy yes I fish the Ovens. I fish every headland from Barrenjoey to North head
Thanks very much for liking the video
Cheers mate
What rig are you using there?
what is the size of the sinker and hook you are using? cheers!
Hey there
The ball sinker sizes are from 00-0-0/1-1-2-3-4 ball. Hooks are 2/0 to 3/0 92554 or 92247 Mustard. Cheers 👍
Dam good vid great knowledge like always very long time no see last time I seen you was bluefish maybe late 80s early 90s anyway great to see you still going strong keep it up from a old fishing mate (drop hands brother ) 💪
