- 2016 Ducati Hyperstrada 939 Review and Road Test
2016 : I've gone completely mad and bought a 2016 Ducati Hyperstrada 939...And here is a quick review and road test - Part 1 - the first 700 miles.
I've had the bike for a week and 700 miles so far and it's totally brilliant. Obviously I'm paranoid something is going to fall off and/or I'm going to get marooned in the badlands...so far...all is good. Stuff I didn't mention in the video...Clutch is light and easy to use - on mine it's really easy to get off the line and it's fine around town.I'm running it in 'Sport' mode as it seems to be a lot more smoother and reactive to throttle input + plus it sounds brilliant.
I'm in love. How will I feel in 2000 miles time? Dunno, but another honest review will be forthcoming in a few weeks time...Then I'm taking it to Europe!
Looking forward to the following parts of this review...
Thanks Morten! I've just got back from 3000 miles riding around Europe...So part 3 coming soon, cheers, Phil.

I just bought this exact model and I love the seating position because I love looking up far ahead for incoming traffic and scenery.
Not many sport riders love it but it’s so fine engine
Good morning - totally agree - it's a brilliant riding position and I just loved that feeling of being right over the front wheel and feeling it dig into the ground What a bike! Thanks for stopping by, all the best, cheers, Phil.
Hello... Hows the bike going do you still love it? I'm about to buy one myself I think, trade in my 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 1000. I miss the bottom end torque of a Vtwin. They're a special order bike now from Ducati as the Multistrada 950 took its place.
+Paul Thomas Evening Paul. After 12 months and around 8000 miles it still makes me giddy when I ride it. It is....brilliant. Chassis, steering and engine work perfectly together and are never overwhelming - just easy, flattering and ever so nimble. I also have B-King (I'm very lucky, I have a fabulous wife) which i really enjoy also, but I have to be a little careful with it...it feels 'serious'. The HS on the other hand is a just an excitable fizzy thing, that is also comfortable and practical. Interesting that the MS950 is getting great reviews for how manageable the engine is and "it's all you need" well, in the HS it's all that in a better, lighter package. My next bike? A Hypermotard SP with a tall screen and rack 😀
80:8 Photography & Design thanks mate that's awesome, oh the SP would be amazing I'm sure, I think it'd be too tall for me even with the lower seat, I'm 168cm tall.... 😎👍🏼
please do an update video on your hyperstrada, ive bougt one and think its the best bike ive had.
+yellowhornet I’ll try! It might take a few months though. I agree there’s something about the balance of power, the chassis and the lightness of the HS that makes it just wonderful. I never feel anything other than totally confident riding it. And it’s comfortable and exciting. Cheers, Phil.
Does it come with side bags? Or you have to buy it?
Good morning! The Hyperstrada comes with the bags as standard...Hope that helps and thanks for watching, cheers, Phil.
great video
+SFR SanFranciscoRider Thanks! Cheers, Phil.
Can that rear rack on the HS be removed? ☺️
+Paul Thomas morning Paul, I guess so as it's essentially an extra that can be added to the Hypermotard, cheers, Phil.
Old review. So was it totally reliable all through your ownership?
Evening - yes it was / no problems whatsoever in three years and around 12,000 miles (I think). Fabulous bike and it changed my opinions of Ducati’s completely! Thanks for stopping by, cheers, Phil.
