  • 2016 Ducati Hyperstrada 939 Review and Road Test - Part 2
The bike is fully run in now, with about 1400 miles on the clock. The engine and gearbox have loosened up, nothing weird has happened and I've just swapped the tyres for Dunlop Roadsmart III's. Yes, I'm still besotted with the bike and at the time of writing (Sep 16) I'm just about to head off to Europe for a week. Can't wait.
Warning: This video also features a review of some cheese - Doddingtons Admiral Collingwood, which is delicious.

My favourite abandoned piece of 60s, 70s architecture at the 4.50 mark. Bring back flat roofs 😀 perfect for our Scottish climate. Lovely bit of road around there too. Thanks so much for the reviews. Time to start saving 👍🏻

Ah! A Peter Womersley / Bernat Klein fan! Yes, the building is fabulous - such a shame it’s falling apart. The HS (and HM) are brilliant - I’m now 10,000 miles in with no problems and still love every minute riding it. Thanks for your comments and glad you enjoyed the review, cheers, Phil.

Thanks for the reply :) Studied architecture many years ago, however, graphic designer for the past 20 - are you still thinking of getting the SM? Could you see yourself able to do some touring on that style of Ducati? Thanks again - have a great weekend

Evening Darren, apologies for the delay in responding....Yes, still thinking about getting the HM-SP....But I might cheat and get the 'comfort' seat :-) For me comfort is driven from the wrists and legs - as long as those are OK I can tend to put up with most things. Or maybe it's a Husky 701! Choices, choices...Cheers, Phil.

+Jasdeep Pannu Thanks Jasdeep! I'd love to do more reviews, but I have to buy the bikes myself so that's the limiting factor. Hence I've had to start reviewing cleaning products 😀

Haha with that kind of production you should ask the motorcycle guys to lend you the bikes

Hello, I just bought my Hyperstrada 2016,
But I have a problem with parking key lock, I try turning the key to “P”, the side lights around the headlight turns on, then I removed the keys, the lights stayed on but after 1 minute the bike is dead no matter I switch the keys on but no electrical is working at all

Good evening, very sorry to hear you’ve been having problems with your bike. To be honest it’s been a few years since I owned the bike but I never had any problems with the ignition key and parking lock - it all seemed to work just fine, though I must admit I don’t think I ever used the parking lights. Sorry I can’t be of any help, good luck in sorting it out as it’s a brilliant bike! Cheers, Phil.

@@80eightReviews I figured out what caused the blackout of my motorcycle
      Thanks
By the way, does that bike come with builtin DRL? I see that 8 mini LEDs at both side of the bike

Morning, yes it has running lights either side of the headlight. Hope that helps and good to know you’ve sorted out the issue with your bike, cheers, Phil.

nice review! question: is there a fuel gauge this time?

    • @80eightReviews
      @80eightReviews  8 років тому +1

+ironing man Hello! Glad you enjoyed the review! No, it doesn't have a fuel gauge, just a light that comes on and begins a trip meter countdown when there's about 3.5 litres of fuel left. Typically it tends to come on after 100 - 115 miles so 140 should be possible. Cheers, Phil.

I got one of these about 6 weeks ago. I've done around 2000kms on it and as you said, the confidence you feel from the front, and the fact that you can sometimes just wring it open without losing control is mind boggling. I come from a very twitchy japanese racer, so this was a real breath of fresh air. Love the bike, cant wait to hear what you say after touring Europe.

+Graham Fenech Afternoon Graham - thanks for you kind comments and good to know other folk feel the same! I've spent the last 8 weeks watching the clock and waiting for work to finish so I can get out and ride... it makes me feel like a kid again! At the time of writing I've just boarded the ferry to Amsterdam will be hitting the European roads in around 16 hours. Can't wait...I've got the luggage on and a bag on the back, upped the pre-load by a few clicks and it feels no different to having no luggage on. It's going to be a blast. Cheers, Phil.
