Bought the VHS, then the CD - at least 3 times, as spare just in case - and now I'm watching YT 35 years later, not bored and still amazed by the music, even though I can sing every note from it
Still have this on a battered and worn out VHS. Right next to Police Around The World, Police live in Essen (October 18, 1980, Rockpalast) and Urgh! A Music War. And the video collection that came out in 1986 (along with the singles CD that included the then brand new, re-recorded version of Don't Stand So Close To Me). I used to have even more tapes but the passing of time seems to have taken most of them, somehow...
I know this is late...I saw this show in Dijon, France...fall of 1985 as a college freshman...my date was the most gorgeous Danish girl in the world to me. Lihn... I had to leave the next morning back to the US and college in Maine...it was such a sweet sorrowful night. I'll Never forget it...
I remembering purchasing the LIVE CD's to this as an import because they weren't available here in the US when this was released. Sad the kids today do not know or care to know this important musical masterpiece. And the band- MAN!!! RIP Kenny Kirkland...
I first played my sister's double vinyl set. After she moved out I borrowed the records. Then I declared them my property! After that I ripped the LPs to Minidisc for convenience. After a few years I finally got hold of an original edition double CD set.
What a great band! I was a jazz fan before I was a Sting fan. He was so smart to hire these musicians for this project. Branford, Kenny, Omar, Daryl, awesome!
Omar Hakim, can leave that drop until the last millisecond, and just when you get caught out by the shock, that's the key to push the beat that propels you forward at pace. What soul, what craft. Joy
This is how I really love to see Sting interesting different songs and very interesting musicians - all of them❤ this is more relevant to me than he’s touring life the last 15 years🤷
Thank you. This is the best of the BEST, superb, brilliance, and a masterful collective band ……every piece is SO awe inspiring……the way they connect the consciousness and emotions…….I listen often. My 19 year old daughter listens nearly every day.
BEAUTIFUL EPIC PASSION.🎶😊❤🙌 Omg thank you for this. I bought the album and saw him live, but got caught up touring. Didn't know this existed. THANK YOU!
I remember seeing Branford Marsalis and his band - well it was Kenny Kirkland and probably all the other guys here too except Sting - playing some badass jazz in 1987 at the Cambridge Corn Exchange. It was so good!
Bring On The Night 00:01 Consider Me Gone 03:44 Driven To Tears 07:35 Shadows In The Rain 11:34 Fortress Around Your Heart 15:12 I Burn For You 19:03 Down So Long (cut) 23:38
Daaammmmmmmmnnnnnnnnn !!!!! this is f...good...... thank you very much ! Bring me very good memories. bought this album in vinil and the solo in BRING ON THE NIGHT is one of the best ... but I had never seen them in video..... This is great... Thank you very much... :)
I rented this video at a rental video store in Kagurazaka, Tokyo in 1991. Until then, I had thought of STING as a POPS singer. However, this video was the first time I learned about his musical roots. I understood why I liked STING even though I am a Jazz fan. I have remained a fan of SITNG ever since. Great sound! Omar Hakim is exceptionally good! (The translation is from DeepL. Thanks!!!)
The best of Sting. When I heard this in the 80s it was unbelievable. Marsalis is a total privilege. Still playing it every day in my car
And me as well
If that is not musical excellence, what is? Hakim, putting in an absolute clinic. Greatest, or one of the greatest solos of all times.
Sting has a wide range of depth to his singing Talents.
Gives me chills.
That drum solo is EVERYTHANG!!!!!!
Omar lit it up AGAIN!

I was in Germany man and missed it! This I was in field player Army!
Wow. You were lucky to see this show. What happened to Lihn?
I remembering purchasing the LIVE CD's to this as an import because they weren't available here in the US when this was released. Sad the kids today do not know or care to know this important musical masterpiece. And the band- MAN!!! RIP Kenny Kirkland...
True that brother RIP

John Thomas , same for me...
I purchased the LIVE vinyl records. Double album, beautiful liner notes
Aye I’m 15 and I listen to sting on the daily but Ik hundreds of ppl and know one else knows about him
The talent in this band does not get much better!!!
It's actually too much band for Sting.
His experiment for a unique sound worked.
Maybe the best band Sting ever had...
Definitely..!! 👍
If was not for this album and Sting music performance I will not have been born 💙
Possibly the most VIBRANT band he ever had. A perfect storm for a "between bands" early 30's Sting. One of my favourite Sting periods of time.
Omar Hakim is so undrerrated. He is as natural as they come. Fluid.
He is not underrated, he is one of the best in the world.
Top talent on all fronts, but that drummer wins it for me.
Omar Hakim! 🔥🔥🔥
THE coolest band ever put together especially a young Daryl Jones on Bass.
This band cannot be topped. Period.
What a great band! I was a jazz fan before I was a Sting fan.
He was so smart to hire these musicians for this project.
Branford, Kenny, Omar, Daryl, awesome!

I watched this when I was a kid. I can't explain how appropriate Hakim's playing is. It's influenced my sound so much he's just ridiculously on point.
This is how I really love to see Sting interesting different songs and very interesting musicians - all of them❤ this is more relevant to me than he’s touring life the last 15 years🤷

I love the police version also. Stewart's drumming is awesome.
That concert i saw in 85 in Montréal Canada in a cozzy night in late september...teenage years misseddd
The most exciting "back up" band ever... Lucky Sting.
The best musician's movie ever. If civiians ever wanted to know what it means to do this, this is the movie.
Thank you, Sophia.
When it was released I watched this movie like 20 times in a row: what an impressive band along with Sting.
Some of the greatest music i have ever heard.....
BEAUTIFUL EPIC PASSION.🎶😊❤🙌 Omg thank you for this. I bought the album and saw him live, but got caught up touring. Didn't know this existed. THANK YOU!
Wow, I played this double CD to death when it came out. Haven't heard it for years. Good memories, great tunes, amazing musicians!

OMAR IS ONE OF THE BEST DRUMMERSVIN THE WORLD
The double live cd "bring on the night" is my best cd...ever! i try to make enjoy it at young men and they did'nt like it, so sad...
I love that album I was born in 85 and as a teen in the 90s I discoverd sting bring on the night live and loved it 34 now still love it lol
Just saw him in Milano with Paul Simon! Still going strong. For giving mankind so much pleasure and enjoyment, may they be blessed!
I saw this in 70mm in Seattle, when it opened, 1985?. It was transformative.
70mm?
No such beast for THIS movie.
Some of modern music's greatest and all so... humble... almost like common mortals!
What I wouldn't have given to be at this musical masterpiece.
I have been watching it since 1989 and always I found a ñew sound. Terrible performance , the best Sting Group per sure.
I remember seeing Branford Marsalis and his band - well it was Kenny Kirkland and probably all the other guys here too except Sting - playing some badass jazz in 1987 at the Cambridge Corn Exchange. It was so good!
This is a music Orgasm. The best music band ever...
If you know anything better or similar, pass me the link 😉
Does what music at its best does, fires the heart and wakes the soul, brilliant in all aspects.
Poderosa banda. Lo mejor de Sting sin duda.
Pra mim o melhor disco do Sting. A banda perfeita os arranjos o astral o repertório tudo valoriza a música deste grande artista
Love Sting's pants on "Shadows In the Rain"!
SO SO glad BOTN is on here. Loved it then and do now. So fng good.
Saw this in the movie theatre when it was first released. Excellent underrated album.
Obra maestra, lastima nadie la sube con subtítulos en español
Brilliant - still a masterpiece. Thank you, Gordon.
Omar hakim is just the best
Naaw,Jojo Mayer....for me;)
That ain't no joke!
That's an understatement. My favorite all around drummer. He can play anything and everything beautifully.
Great drummer. I like Manu Katche also.
He was Madonnas drummer on her tours as well.
Gracias Sohpia.
Branford has like the best soprano tone!
sting had to come out with a band of these highlest level musicians after parting with the police This band was absolutley amazing.
Don't know why - but listen to that music makes me believing in flying elephants - must be some magic involved - thx all contributors

Sting’s dream of a commercially viable alternative to Last Exit built solidly on the foundations of The Police
EXXCELLENT! sooo nice to stumble into (not only) talent inspired that one particular evening

It is available on DVD.
Awsome!!! Thanks do much!
Gracias!!
Il maestro!
Thanks for this !
WALKING ON THE MOON!!!¡!
Cuando la palabra calidad se queda corta para describir el nivel alcanzado por este concierto.
Genio assoluto della musica e cantante eccelso❤❤❤

Adoro a musica de Sting
LOVE IT !!! ❤❤❤
That baseline!!

17:47 I love this moment 😍🤯
Great ! Hadn't The Police disappeared, I bet other bands wouldn't have made it that big. And that's a fact.
never heard this before, damn 1985 the Police had just broken up and sting goes and starts a show style Police cover band
Mon enfance revenue, Gracie millé!
Love this song
Sounds good! Thank You.
