I'm in a new lifelong season of accepting Christ as my Savior, and I just finished the Bible today for the first time. I just want to know God and His character, and to also be led by Him because I have spent almost 40 years not knowing who He was and doing everything myself or listening to everyone but Him. It's a new leg of the journey, and I couldn't be happier, even with the uncertainty around me. It's finally time to understand faith and lean on Him to strengthen me in it. Oftentimes, I've felt bizarre because my life seemed so strange. Then I come back to your videos because for some reason God loved me so much, that I discovered your channel years ago, and now we are going through similar things. I see that my life is not so bizarre. Perhaps a small thing, but to me, it makes such a difference. Like you, I've also married and moved to Europe. Had to learn a new language at an older age. Had kids, a few months older than your one, ‘left’ Christianity cause dived into videos like Zeitgeist etc. God had mercy and I'm back. Now we are in the process of moving to the north in Sweden countryside. We've been in isolation for long as well. Going through motherhood in isolation, even in the beauty of nature, can be taxing. Add onto learning a new culture, language, having to learn how to do familiar things in a new country, craving consistency etc. I cannot tell you enough how grateful I am that you vlog and are so honest about life. Like someone else said in the comments, it's really important that 30s & 40- something's vlog because we need to see real helpful conversations. You are doing that. God is using you in His way. I’m a writer and I see that you are writing. I pray that your book is successful. I know it will be good because I've been watching you for years and the way you put your projects together is always organized, good quality and detailed. God designed you with those capabilities. And it's awesome to witness. Your life is a testimony, and I'm excited to see where God is taking you next and the lessons you learn along the way.
God loves you and wants a relationship with you! For real! I love that and it’s so true. I turned 42 in December and my eldest son (I have 4) turned 18 in November and will be graduating high school. I’m a little further ahead in the age group than you but I’m still learning so much everyday from him and his brothers. It’s a lot of watch and wait. I’m going to be 30 towards the end of this month and this is a weird season for me. I was teaching but I quit - and now am long term subbing. I’m not sure what I’ll do next. I will be finishing my masters in a few months, so I’m excited for that! I’m used to having a plan, but everything I grasp at feels wrong. So I guess you could say I’m in a season of uncertainty, but one thing I am certain of is God’s love for me and His faithfulness. It’s amazing what he’s done in your life, and just thank you for putting yourself out there and allowing us to come along on this journey with you for so long. You’re a blessing Maya!

I find myself always saying “ life just be life-in” and “ life happens” when crazy things get thrown at me and I’m trying to stand on business as a mother, wife, content creator and still an employee because I have a full time job. Isolation is not joke but sometimes it’s comes with growth.

Can I just say 2...maybe 3 things lol. 1. I've been watching you since 2012 because you had some videos that helped me get my curly hair journey going. Loved you back then and love you now! 2. THIS video spoke to me. Im in my 30s and have a 1.5 year old son. The struggle just being a parent is real. Really real lol. And to parent with your partner in not only an isolated or small town but without any familiarity support, that is HARD. I moved from the Los Angeles area to a small town in Texas during the height of covid to live with my now husband. His family is in Texas. I first saw it as an adventure, a journey. But it soon got to be too much for me. ME, someone who has been adaptable. All to say, your story is so relatable and I appreciate you putting these experiences into words that some of us didn't know how to verbally express! ✌🏽💕

Hi Maya, I have been following since your early days and love to see where you are now in life. On fasting, I wanted to share it is interesting you have come to three days as a good number. In muslim tradition we fast on the three middle days of the lunar month, when the moon is full, and I recently found since starting Yoga that in hindu tradition they also do this three day fast at the same time, and even don't practice yoga on those three days (they do it every day of the month otherwise) so its interesting. I also found discovered that in ancient civilisations women of pre historic times all had the same period cycle, with the middle of the cyce (days 13/14/15) also aligning with the middle of the lunar month and the full moon day (day 14). All very facinating, maybe your being near that forest and nature has brought your body to some natural alignment with nature! xx

I feel like once I turned 41 this past November something switched inside of me. I want to be a vessel for God and do His will, not my own. I too am on this journey I feel to finding my purpose in this stage in life. It’s crazy how u talked about sharing your testimony because I just uploaded mine yesterday. I was nervous but felt the Lord saying it’s time🙏🏽

Oftentimes, I've felt bizarre because my life seemed so strange. Then I come back to your videos because for some reason God loved me so much, that I discovered your channel years ago, and now we are going through similar things. I see that my life is not so bizarre. Perhaps a small thing, but to me, it makes such a difference.
Like you, I've also married and moved to Europe. Had to learn a new language at an older age. Had kids, a few months older than your one, ‘left’ Christianity cause dived into videos like Zeitgeist etc. God had mercy and I'm back. Now we are in the process of moving to the north in Sweden countryside. We've been in isolation for long as well. Going through motherhood in isolation, even in the beauty of nature, can be taxing. Add onto learning a new culture, language, having to learn how to do familiar things in a new country, craving consistency etc.
I cannot tell you enough how grateful I am that you vlog and are so honest about life. Like someone else said in the comments, it's really important that 30s & 40- something's vlog because we need to see real helpful conversations. You are doing that. God is using you in His way.
I’m a writer and I see that you are writing. I pray that your book is successful. I know it will be good because I've been watching you for years and the way you put your projects together is always organized, good quality and detailed. God designed you with those capabilities. And it's awesome to witness. Your life is a testimony, and I'm excited to see where God is taking you next and the lessons you learn along the way.

God loves you and wants a relationship with you! For real! I love that and it’s so true. I turned 42 in December and my eldest son (I have 4) turned 18 in November and will be graduating high school. I’m a little further ahead in the age group than you but I’m still learning so much everyday from him and his brothers. It’s a lot of watch and wait. I’m going to be 30 towards the end of this month and this is a weird season for me. I was teaching but I quit - and now am long term subbing. I’m not sure what I’ll do next. I will be finishing my masters in a few months, so I’m excited for that! I’m used to having a plan, but everything I grasp at feels wrong. So I guess you could say I’m in a season of uncertainty, but one thing I am certain of is God’s love for me and His faithfulness. It’s amazing what he’s done in your life, and just thank you for putting yourself out there and allowing us to come along on this journey with you for so long. You’re a blessing Maya!

This video was so relatable! I find myself always saying “ life just be life-in” and “ life happens” when crazy things get thrown at me and I’m trying to stand on business as a mother, wife, content creator and still an employee because I have a full time job. Isolation is not joke but sometimes it’s comes with growth.

I’m in my 62. My oldest daughter just turned 40. She has littles like you. When I was 40 I had a 18, 15 and 8 year old. Now they’re grown and I enjoy the slower paced life of grandmother-hood! I love that you’re growing in your faith and making it a focus and priority. God will bless you for it. You know, your YT name is interesting, because it could mean, “I have no shame!” In a bad way, but it doesn’t. It means I have no shame because Christ took it upon himself and paid it all. ❤

I am currently fasting all social media (besides YT) because, like you said, socials are super distracting and I feel like all the noise is blocking me from hearing God more clearly. Im in a very vulnerable season of my life, a "chrysalis" phase where I am deeply reconnecting with God and myself. I have no idea what is to come and I'm rediscovering me. Maya! I’ve been with you on your entire journey. At first when you spoke about being gone, I thought you were talking about trip. You have taught me so much over the years and I’m about to turn 40. I see you as an inspiration. Black lady, with a little dog living life unapologetically. I love every moment of it. I thought I’d drop off once the baby came, but I didn’t. I needed to see those struggles too. I don’t have kids, but I need to see you parenting in order to see you being authentic. Motherhood is definitely not all about cute baby clothes and smiles.

1. I've been watching you since 2012 because you had some videos that helped me get my curly hair journey going. Loved you back then and love you now!
2. THIS video spoke to me. Im in my 30s and have a 1.5 year old son. The struggle just being a parent is real. Really real lol. And to parent with your partner in not only an isolated or small town but without any familiarity support, that is HARD.
I moved from the Los Angeles area to a small town in Texas during the height of covid to live with my now husband. His family is in Texas. I first saw it as an adventure, a journey. But it soon got to be too much for me. ME, someone who has been adaptable. All to say, your story is so relatable and I appreciate you putting these experiences into words that some of us didn't know how to verbally express! ✌🏽💕
I admire your perseverance in your walk with God. It can be one that tests us so much so that we wonder if we are doing enough in forging a relationship with Him. I've struggled at times. I recently finished a 3 day Esther fast - just water and it was one of my toughest fasts to date. I too, was watching all kinds of cooking videos, however they just made me want to eat therefore I had to stop !😅

Hi Maya, I have been following since your early days and love to see where you are now in life. On fasting, I wanted to share it is interesting you have come to three days as a good number. In muslim tradition we fast on the three middle days of the lunar month, when the moon is full, and I recently found since starting Yoga that in hindu tradition they also do this three day fast at the same time, and even don't practice yoga on those three days (they do it every day of the month otherwise) so its interesting. I also found discovered that in ancient civilisations women of pre historic times all had the same period cycle, with the middle of the cyce (days 13/14/15) also aligning with the middle of the lunar month and the full moon day (day 14). All very facinating, maybe your being near that forest and nature has brought your body to some natural alignment with nature! xx
It’s always so refreshing to hear your insights Maya bc there’s a joy and a hope and a grace that comes from it and it just reminded me of how important it is to give ourselves grace. Life is going to life, but when our soul settles again - oh There’s such a joy and a hope we find. And such a Joy and a Hope when we rest in Him.
