29:07 While this specifically isn't useful, there is actually something related to it that is VERY useful. Margit/Mohg's shackle both have MASSIVE zero damage hitboxes that can activate basically any pillar that's loaded in. This is amazing for navigating tombs and graves, especially Auriza's Hero because you can instantly activate the pillar that kills the chariots
it took me far too long to make coherent sense out of all of this, but in practice it works; pop a shackle and it activates the fire pillars (fire spewer pillars in a Hero's grave) without having to like, melee them. you don't need to physically hit them, just pop a shackle. mileage varies lol it took me a solid 2m to figure out what commentor OP meant but it clicked when I looked at the timestamp and remembered that the shackles are op as heck in the tombs lol
@@tulokthebarbrarian2033might I also add: The design on top of the chariots in the hero graves are Tree Sentinels, and Auriza(which comes from the Latin Aurelius, meaning "the golden one") is in Altus so I'd assume it's a matter of them being the oldest or "most important" dead thing who's energy is being used for the chariots hence why they are some of the only chariots who still have a glowing golden amber inside them So basically tldr what the first guy said about it being powered by dead tree Sentinels but also the area name and chariot design hint at it which is really cool

You know what is the worst part about the "don't use spirits" propaganda? It's the fact that is the THIRD item that is GAVE to you. When you start the game you'll be killed by the abomination, then you receive the first item, the flasks, after that you'll run a bit and eventually reach the gate front and receive Torrent, after that you'll eventually go back to the church, either to buy something or to upgrade your weapon, then BAM, Ranny make a whole scene to get your attention to give you the summoning bell and the wolfs. If anything the Phisics Flask is the thing people should be mad at, is an optional item that you need to find. Even if you miss Ranny, the bell is placed in the Roundtable so you don't need to go out of your way to find it. The devs WANT you to use it.
The reason that people get mad at spirit ashes and not physique flasks is because spirit ashes can carry you through the game (assuming you aren’t using the surprisingly large amount of practically useless ones) while the physique flask can’t. The flask at best gives you some pretty potent buffs but they are limited and you still have to work to actually win with them. Not saying the people who get mad over them are correct, just explaining why the physique flask is seen as acceptable while spirit ashes arent.
I think the "gatekeepers" are butt hurt because they spent hours learning one boss' moveset. Then I roll up with my shield boys and obliterate the boss in 40 seconds
I don't know if this will comfort you, but there's a guy who beat Maliketh using only the Land Squirt Spirit Ashes. Also, Mimic Tear with a Faith build and the Burn, O Flame!, Flame, Grant Me Strength and Erdtree Heal Incantations with Lionel's Set and equipped with the Ironjar Aromatic and Raw Meat Dumplings could've destroyed Malenia.

Maybe I missed an explanation, but is there a reason you didn’t pick up Lord’s Heal over Great Heal? I assume you had some kind of reason since the use of Holy Ground made me think you searched the wiki for healing abilities/spells and wouldn’t have missed it Edit: never mind, you literally explain it in the video and I just missed it. Great video as always, hope the next few runs go a little better!
My take on spirit ashes, is the fact that on my first playthrough, I had to quit out of Elden Beast because Tiche almost solo'd it. But ignoring that improbable anomaly, the thing that makes spirit ashes so strong is not that they are capable of soloing the boss (usually). Almost all spirit ashes do piss poor damage. Also, almost all spirit ashes have massive health bars that let them live long enough for you to kill the boss, and they draw a ton of aggro from the boss. I'm not saying the game is better balanced without spirit ashes-because I just think the game is badly balanced in general around a weird middle ground somewhere between using spirit ashes and not-but being like "wow, spirit ashes really struggle to solo endgame bosses" is not an argument that they're not extremely strong. Of course, there are plenty of things other than spirit ashes in this game that are extremely strong and I'm not sure why challenge runners are okay with stacking buffs to kill the boss in seconds but not with using spirit ashes, but they _are_ extremely strong. Maybe it's a skill issue, but in my experience, fighting a boss without spirit ashes in melee is an exercise in "so... when is it my turn?" and the moment you pull out a spirit ash the answer is "whenever you feel like it, it doesn't matter." The only boss that has ever given me any trouble when using spirit ashes is NG++ Malenia, no magic, no bleed, no frost (and originally, no spirit ashes, but once I gave up on that, I gave it a few shots with before switching to a magic build and killing her on my first attempt). By contrast, when not using spirit ashes, I've had plenty of trouble more or less no matter what build I'm using (aside from one-shot style buff stacking because I just... don't find it fun to do that so I've never really tried it lmao) with plenty of bosses. I will also note that other "extremely strong" combos like Star Fists with Cragblade and Golden Vow and Flame, Grant Me Strength and whatever else... feel much much harder to use than "pull out Tiche." Granted, I have only tried this on NG++, and so maybe, on NG, the non-AoW stuff holds up better? Because getting stance breaks on NG++ is functionally impossible? But like... spirit ashes don't scale in any way past NG (except Mimic Tear, I guess, but I don't use it much) and yet they feel extremely effective even on NG++.
The balance feeling like a middle ground between no spirit ashes and yes spirit ashes is so on point. I wonder if the balance would've been better if spirits were more unique entities than enemy copy-pastes.
The bugfest that was this playthrough reminds me of a fun story. I play the seamless coop mod with a friend and we were killing greyoll to get him some dragon hearts and greyoll STOOD UP AND MERCED US. No clue how it happened

No joke, the Skeletal Bandit ashes, or any of the Skeleton ashes that can revive themselves, are actually stupid good. They never actually die unless they get attacked when they are down and the Elden Ring AI doesn't really look at them once they reduce them to a pile of bones so they only very rarely die. I use them in my own playthroughs of the game and they are way underrated in my opinion. Bad to use against AOE enemies like dragons, good against single target enemies like Malenia though.

Does Shabriri's Woe work on bosses?
If so, that might help with the Agro thing
shabriri's woe only increases aggro range, sadly. i wish the talisman did what it said on the card =(
I believe shabiris woe only works in co-op and does nothing in single player.
I love Digimon in Elden Ring
They are technically digital monsters
Well played sir, well played
Use dumpy kong’s eldemon mod. The cross over would be crazy.
What if I'm nonbinary and love archery? Should I try weed?
I've watched dozens upon dozens of your challenge runs, and the "work computer" jokes still get me every single time. Is it timeless, or am I immature? The answer is yes.
Grave of limbs, where limbs go to die
Its a pun.... How did i not see this before
a redo of this run or another similar summon based run would be cool in modern day with heal from afar
44:13 apologies if this is premature but does he know about cursed blood pots?
