Hi matw! You made a great Trance demo at the end. I also want to asm you. If i need a FL Controller, but i have have tons of keys, so jeys is not important for me. What ia the bettwr conteoller for FL patterns, Fire or Fl key?
Thank you :) when you say patterns do you mean like drum patterns? If so that would depend on weather or not you want to create it with pads or in the step sequencer. if you like drawing patterns in more with the mouse the fire is for you. but if you want to finger drum then the fl key is better because it has touch sensitive pads. The fire does have a drum mode, the pads are small and they are not touch sensitive. on the other hand while the fl key has a channel rack/ sequencer mode its not as big
@@sixx_xlr ah sorry, i just read what i write from smartphone, and it looks fun but not good) I meant that I'm looking for better FL Studio controller, keyboard isnt important (i have alot). For usual and simple operations, to speed up work and reduce mouse usage. I mostly program with a mouse, but I want to type it in with my fingers (not play live, but program on pads) and other things, what do you think would be better for this? And thank you for your answer!
@@NatLifeSounds I would say the fire. you already have keyboards and you want a way to easily type in the sequencer. The fl key has one but its not as good.
Hey man, love your attitude and would really enjoy if you could put together something for us, live, produced or otherwise with this Akai Fire. Would love to hear you put together some music using your new Fire. The reason why is, I own two of these Fire's that I bought locally for $50 each. I am looking for motivation, just a little and I really like your attitude and passion displayed in this video. Hope you will consider making another video for all of us.
that's not a bad idea. I've been busy doing other things since this video and haven't really done much with it since this video so it may be a good way to get back into the swing of it
@@sixx_xlr Would really appreciate it. Hope you're doing well and thank you for the consideration and reply. Oh, I just bought this FLkeyboard Novation Mini new off eBay for $94 shipped free new in the box. I'm excited.
@@all.day.day-dreamer ah yes i love my fl key mini :) its jammed packed with so many features that I dont even use xD I think you will love it too and from a keyboard and drum pad standpoint is much better then trying to use the fire and for me thats why they go together so nicely. The FL key can be the instruments and recorder while the Fire (for me) is a much better more intuitive controller for the daw
@@all.day.day-dreamer by the way the loop in the beginning of the video is something that I made if you want to use that for some inspiration. Its not much but its something for now
in ALL the videos i watched on this since it came out no one has said shit abt there being physical pattern/somg and metronome buttons thats it im buying this and the mpk mini plus lmao im always buing n reselling controllers cuz i use fl studio n nothing ever feels like it fits !y needs specifically but those three buttons got them all
It shocked me when i got my FL Key and started making music and loops that Novation didnt think to add those buttons onto it xD it just seems so obvious and it would have been the perfect controller if they had done so. One thing that i dont think that i mentioned about the fire is that you can change the sounds on the channel rack with it witch i didnt initially think would be a big deal for me but now that ive gotten used to doing it that way wouldnt go back to using the mouse. Just an all around great controller and for the price i got it for off of eBay made it all the more worth it
if you mean the rack that its on its technically a laptop stand shelf thing but its perfect for small controllers like these. Look on amazon for WALI Laptop Tray Desk Mount. that's the exact one that i have but there are others that very in size and price. some even come in white. Im able to fit both the fire and the fl key mini's shelf on the same pole and still have plenty of room underneath to keep my sound controller. Im sure you could probably fit 3 on one poll if you really wanted to. I think i put the link to it in my video about the fl key mini if you cant find it.
for me its white and red when the the pc is on fully. If the pc is off but there is power going to the devices still then it will do the cool color pattern thing
Hay man I have the flkey37 which can pretty much do what the fire can without mute buttons etc but I've still just bought the fire. I'm sucker for lights too I guess. I think both together will be handy though & why I've picked up the fire 🔥
its a cool little device for sure and is a key part in the work flow even if it is just because of a few buttons lol yes the fl key has its own sequencer mode but its not a one to one representation of what's on the software. The only thing that i would change about the fire is the fact that there is no light on the lines that divide the sequencer into 4. Its tough to see especially for me since im mostly in the dark lol
@@sixx_xlr Your about the only person that will respond which I really appreciate man and I have now dropped in a subscribe also :) Just received my fire :) I'm just getting my head around all the functions, but I would like to know if you can activate the light show whilst FL is closed? I hear it only kicks in if the PC goes into sleep mode and the fire still as power to it :( is this true?
@@PCG2022 yeah the only other way i could think of that would get it to work is to maybe plug it into one of those usb battery packs. while your not using it. My impulse 200 does a light show also but only when the pc is asleep.
I can now say that I own all of the FL studio controllers xD
I might be on the same vibe fr i been snappin w the fire for 2yrs now
Image-line control you now xD
Bro, you deserve to go big, 6:00 is just amazing content and a latent banger! Keep going!
thank you I will :)
I have the new FLKey 49 but use it mostly for chords/scales. I still use the FIRE for drums to me that’s still the best for them.
its also really simple and easy to make loops with. I normally use it in the beginning stages of the song creation because of this
been waitin for a video on this topic from someone lol
Don't sleep on the fire though the note mode goes crazy when you got beat block or just wanna try scales
its been a little over a year and still going strong with this combo
@sixx_exe 2 fires and a Key 61 would be the ultimate setup, just can't bring myself to drop the bred on it all 🤣

idk for sure. there are ways to do just about everything else with the individual pattern notes such as the pitch or how loud it is.
