    Great video, well explained and very clear
    Just a note on the side cutter. Most newer side cutters (like the one you have in the video) has a deep set wire stripper build into the cutting edges. It is located right against the back of the blades. If you close your side cutter and hold it up to the light, you will notice the hole right where the blades start. That hole is for stripping electric wire, as it allows cutting without damage to the wire. (Just be careful when stripping very thick wire, best to use wire stripper for those)

    This is nice for end of the circuit plug, but do you have a video showing how to connect/replace a plug that is not the last plug in the circuit, but somewhere between the DB and plug end run?

    @Ecological time a video well done.
    Question: When I plug something into the socket, I struggle to put it in properly and I need to use force. I noticed fhe earth socket, of the 3 holes, the coverinv doesn't move away correctly to allow the live and neutral to enter the socket (I hope I'm making sense)
    How do I fix this?

    will I need to have a conduit in place if i am ging to add a new power outlet in the same room. are there power cables that dont need conduit . I know the best and safest is to have a conduit but that room will look like a wiring diagram since its going from one plug to the new one. els eill have to cut the wall

    Some of these socket outlets are plastic and the metal box is not earthed. It can become alive. I earth them via a screw and lug.

    I have several single in wall plug points, can I convert them to double without having a recut the cavity the plugs point go into?

    • @ecologicaltime
      @ecologicaltime  3 роки тому +1

      usually the cavity is for the size of the face plate so no you would need a bigger cavity for double

    Can a wall socket catch fire? Say if I install a smart switch ?

    • @ecologicaltime
      @ecologicaltime  3 роки тому

      a wall socket can catch fire of there is enough arcing to heat the surrounding materials to the point of burning, however this is uncommon.
