- To separate the loads, some protected by earth leakage and some only protected by over current to reduce nuisance tripping (split neutral busbars).
This is a practical demonstration that took place in a laboratory.
For Samite rail please see: • How to wire a single p...

You are really a good teacher...I think am ready to wire my house
I watched this tutorial at least 10 times. Wired my first DB and all is working and safe, Thanks for the good clear explanation of how and why things are wired in this specific method.
I have been watching videos regarding electrical stuff but i must say that your videos and instruction are crystal clear and easily understandable. Keep the great job alive.
I am an electrician and I am learning a lot from your videos and how you explain. Thank you.
Mr. Hlwayela, I would like to know how to trasfer power from db to another, i need to know the cable size I would need to do that. Please help chief
best teacher ever
I'm about to start my own house wiring business I attentively listening to your videos for more knowledge
One the best videos Ive ever watched. Thank you
Thank you for CLEAR EXPLANATION AND DEMONSTRATION. GOD BLESS EVERYONE
Very simplified. Am impressed!
You really are a jack of all trades awesome work👍
Explanation. Is clear and proper. Thank you
I am learning more from you in this field thanks...
You're really a good teacher
You are such a natural..well done
Very good illustration👏👏👏
Did you do a THREE PHASE video like this? Your work in this single phase was very DETAILED and it help me put the pieces of my puzzle together.
🔥🔥🔥🔥oh my God this is neat.☘️ thanks for posting💯
Very informative and well explained
I love your videos.
Thanks for your illustration and very clear explanation 👍 👌 !!. This is exactly what I've been looking for as a diy Enthusiast.
Brilliant explanation. Please do an an inverter installation with a changeover switch.
is very welldern bro be on with your work
Thank you so much!
So nice
Note - If a stove circuit has a double pole isolator and no plug socket, no earth leakage is required. If the stove has the older type isolator with a socket next to the isolator, it "must" be fed from the earth leakage unit.
and the geyser? with 2 pole isolator?
Awesome video, very informative and professionally presented. Is there any way you could possibly do a video on how to wire a sub DB with a pre paid electricity meter Thank you
Great vid
Love ❤from Nigeria
Thank you
THANKS FOR YOUR VIDEOS THEY ARE VERRY USEFULL AND EDUCATIONAL. ONE THING THOUGH CALING A DB A DB BOARD IS INCORECT, BD = DISTRIBUTION BOARD SO YOUR CALLING IT A DISTRIBUTION BOARD BOARD JUST SOME USLESS INFO
Hey!
Could we please have a video on how to wire a multiple globe lamp or chandelier, but as if you were making a light for someone. I'm specifically making a kitchen light out of a piece of driftwood with 4 hanging globes. I can't seem to find wiring instructions for this in SA.
Thanks for all the super helpful tutorials!
Your opinion on the K-Star brand of UPS? Are they good quality? I am planning to buy the 1000VA for wifi and laptop charging during load shedding
HI, would it be possible to have a video on how to wire a junction box that typically is in ceiling and is fed from the Main DB and connects the various loads in a single position?
Hi. Can you please make a video for installing two separate dB boards in one house. For example if I want to have a separate dB board for garage
I just learned a hole new side of my brain thanks alot can you show us he ow to install a surge protector please
Hi, do you have a video showing how to connect UPS to the Main DB? I want to use the ups for the lights circuits
Hi, do you have a video on how to wire a 5kva inverter to your main DB board with AC INPUT & OUTPUT DISTRIBUTION BOARD WITH:5kw Inverters or similar. im looking to setup my inverter and how to connect to my DB, i dont see any videos online
Great video, clear and straightforward. Great teacher. Do you have a video with solar changeover connected to DB box.
Not yet
Good
thanks
Hi, can you please help me, my municipality meter senses reverse flow from my db box and disconnects my power. At the moment I only live the main switch and earth connected. What could be the problem?
Hi, is it a must that the stove and a geyser cannot be connected on the earth leakage hence they are both having an isolated. With also the light not being connected on the earth leakage?
is there any difference on the direction of wiring of the Neutral on the RCD ?
You're not doing this for only the likes on UA-cam, but you know your stuff. Where are you based in SA? Do you do training?
In inverter installation, if you take the geyser of the supply, it will then be 2 x earth leakages? One specific dedicated to the geyser? As some people say you don't have to feed the geyser through the earth leakage according to the stove you showed here, you have to be double pole MCB for the geyser then... So this would be incorrect?
what happens if you connect the Neutral cable in one Point (all of them connected on the left ) ???
im living in an island in a third world country where there is no electricians, these videos have been invaluable to wire up a hot water heater correctly. I have a question, If I would use earth leakage just for one circuit could is respective overload fuse be placed before or after the RCD or would it always come after ?
Hi, when are you going to connect a 3 phase dB board.
Hi There. Please can you do a video on an inverter installation?
Clean set up i like it . Can you check the inveter from Mpptsolar LV6548 it has L1, N & E for output only . can you make a main panel for this inveter , i have seen americans bond earth and neatral
At home the company which was installing eskom meter used same busbar for Earth cable and Neutral cable. After facing issues of metal appliances carring charge, we reported the issue to eskom and they come and cut out earth cable altogether.
With Only Live and Neutral operating, does earth leakage breaker still gone work/ protect us for shock hazard if/when it happens?
I mean 1 rail was used to connect both Earth and Neutral cables.
What would be the reason for stove not be connected to earth leakage.
Kindly work on ac connection for home and solar inverter for hone db box
It's strange to see a requirement when inputs should always be at the top when almost all modern RCDs and circuit breakers work both from the top and the bottom.
Having inputs at the top only causes more wires
I'm struggling with my D-Link router. I want to convert the router into a wireless repeater. Not an access point with wired connection. Please advise. Any advice would be appreciated on how I can make my D-Link DSL-2750U into a wireless repeater would be greatly appreciated.
Why stove no need to earth?
Where is the Neutral and Earth connected
Didn’t see you bonding your Neutral and Earth, or am I missing something?
In South Africa the Neutral and earth bonding is done by the power company (Eskom) at their transformers or meter boxes. So the wires coming into the houses are to be used as they are.
@@ramasike Can you please share the evidence to support your statement. It does not make sense, because if that were true why would I need to install my own Earth pole/stick and create a isolated circuit for my own house? And wouldn't that mean if Eskom for example gave us all an Earth wire that we would share, in the event of an earth leakage multiple homes would not receive power because buildings share the same lines?
I watched another video explaining when to bond Earth and Neutral. In this video it makes sense on why he didn't bond the neutral and Earth and that is because this is a sub panel or sub distributor board and is just a sort of extension of the already bonded Main panel/ Main Distributor for that building.
So your stove is not protected from earth leakage .
Why
Input top or bottom?
Technically these breakers can work both ways but certain countries have regulations about the input and output. In South Africa input is on top.
@@ecologicaltime OK thanks good job
