- yep... you read it right! for the first time ever, one of my videos was removed from the UA-cam platform in a false copyright strike. (but it's back! you can watch it here: • designer brands are fo... ) false copyright strikes on UA-camr's channel are a big deal. get 3 in a row and your channel will quite literally be deleted from the platform, so to place a copyright strike on another creators video is very controversial. unfortunately, a luxury influencer did just this to me last month. a video (designer brands are for broke girls) that i had spent 2 weeks straight working on, was removed from UA-cam by a fellow content creator Tamara Kalinic, and I was devastated. i work SO hard on my content. I dont have a researcher, script writer, video editor or thumbnail creator - i do every thing myself because i want to create the best content i can for my subscribers. so to have a video deleted from UA-cam was so disheartening for me. I have noting against Tamara, I think her content is aspirational and her lifestyle is very enviable. she is a luxury influencer and incredibly good at her job (I was even getting influenced watching her!) but I do wish that she would have approached me prior to launching a strike on my channel, as it's incredibly unfair. we may have opposing views on luxury and designer items, but that's ok! she is entitled to her opinion as I am to mine.
i know luxury items and designer goods are paraded around as being almost a token of social status - but please, dont go into debt to look rich. you dont need to keep up with influencers, and even luxury influencing has its drawbacks. xx

It's also interesting how in the video that was targeted Stephanie mentioned that the video is not for those who can afford luxury items and have the financial means...yet Tamara still felt the need to send a copyright strike. It's sad how people use the internet to attack others instead of just having a conversation, view confrontation as always a negative thing, and fail to understand that you can respect another's opinion without agreeing with it.
She was such a coward for not contacting Stephanie about her issue with the video and even more spineless that she did not respond to any of Stephanie's messages.

In my honest opinion, "luxury influencers" are the least respectable type of influencer. The only type that is lower than that are those reaction channels that barely react to the clips they are watching and just upload them looking at entire seasons of TV shows.
Well, the brands need someone cheap to sell the surplus. And what’s “beautiful” about it is that they can sell discounted goods in many obscure parts of the world where the grand designers wouldn’t set their foot.

100%. There was another UA-camr who made documentary style videos, and someone who was a minor subject in the documentary threatened him if he didnt take down the video. He didnt take it down, so the person filed 3 strikes on 3 videos and the entire channel, UNDER A FAKE NAME, without needing to provide ANY credentials. Literally, Any random person even with a fake name can tear apart someone’s career in a few clicks. Now, this creator went to counter the strike, but then he needed to provide all his personal info including address. They had been receiving physical threats from this person, and didnt want to give them their literal address, but UA-cam forced him to, otherwise he would lose his account. I don’t remember how the matter was resolved, but it was resolved because a bunch of other creators and viewers called UA-cam to help him. But this system is wild and it can be so easily dangerous for creators.
Clever! That would make someone think twice about a false claim!
But then small creators will fear defending their content by placing a strike because they can't afford lost wages if youtube sides with the other creator even if they did rip the creator off. UA-cam just needs to fix their system

To me it’s criminal that UA-cam/google don’t require more personal information when a person makes a copyright strike/dmca and yet you are required to submit your info when refuting a strike. The system is so broken.

I have ZERO respect for people who misuse the copyright strike feature of UA-cam. In my opinion, if you file a copyright claim and lose, YOU need to get one of those strikes on your account instead. That would deter people from using it as a “dislike” button and would make the accusation much more serious and they would only use it when it’s actually a copyright infringement. And the video in question shouldn’t get taken down until it’s proven to be copyright. Innocent until proven guilty should work here too. That’s so unfair that you did nothing wrong, she did, and yet you’re the only one suffering.
youtube really doesnt protect it's creators. it should be far harder to make a copyright claim and there should be penalties for issuing a false one. the fact that you can just click a button and damage a channel bc your feelings were hurt is such bs.

Social platforms are ridiculous. I’ve reported people who have told me to unalive myself and gotten a “no violations found”, but had a comment violation for telling someone I don’t agree with them. That’s it. No name calling or bullying, no misinformation - just “we can agree to disagree”. I have no idea if AI is handling reported comments or content or if the people working those are just that ridiculous and inconsistent about it, but it’s maddening.

So there's this lawsuit going on in Italy and it was just released that a Dior bag costs 58$ or sth like that to make... Which I'm pretty sure everyone knows, but refuses to accept. My point is ppl can parade all they want with money and status, but in the end they are waisting money for stuff... Shallow
I have a few designer bags, but my dad didn't pay the full price for them. You can just go the countries where they make them and get them for dirt cheap.
Those are definitely not real … they are very good fakes though…I did a deep dive and the things I bought (fully knowing they are probably not the real deal) look the same on the outside but can easily be spotted as a fake if you are an expert (I don’t care to be an expert). I happened to be somewhere where they were selling very good knock offs and the police raided the whole place. All items were seized - even the ones I purchased. It was quite the experience to witness. I was happy the police interviewed us and let us go. No country is selling real designer items cheap.

it's so upsetting. not only bc of how malicious that girl was in her movements, but the fact that it was a false copyright claim makes it even worse. I'm not a creator on this platform, but I've heard OFTEN that if you get 3 strikes, you're out. entire channel deleted, livelihood LOST. that includes false claims.
people have appealed false claims & STILL got hit w the full deletion of channel even when the claims were all false. meanwhile, there ARE creators posting harmful content here, getting away with it, making millions, regardless of how many parents report those gross "kids channels."

I actually like the white wall a lot! I love listening to what you say and the visual examples you give. So for me personally there is no need for a fancy background.

Having a white background goes with your message. A clear and bold voice of reason in between the chaotic facade created by influencers. It really doesn't matter what the background is like to me personally since im focusing on what you're saying fully, but i guess if you want it to be less plain you can opt for some wall stickers or plants behind instead of renting out an office.
