According to the urban dictionary, a 'butterface' is a female that is 'hot from the neck down, but ugly from the neck up'. Pretty harsh huh. And yet being called a 'butterface' is one of the most insulting things that can be said to a woman - and yet women are being called this all the time. Even SYDNEY SWEENEY - the absolute bombshell that she is - has been accused of being a butterface. Why? Because she's successful and has a lovely body. It's almost like people NEED to find something 'wrong' with her appearance, and so they go after her face.
I think the problem is, we're comparing real life human females, to the fake, filtered image of a woman that we see on TikTok and Instagram - but these girls aren't real. And yet actual real girls, are being compared to this illusion - and it's ruining their self esteem.

I've actually brought typology's foundation and concealer been using it for about a month i quite like it and I end up forgetting I'm wearing any makeup. I am a little pale and have fairish skin (not the palest person ever because my face does have a natural tan) but even their lightest shade is too dark and orange for my skin tone which is unfortunate because I would probably buy it again if the shade matched. The concealer works great though because you need a darker tone than you might think! Xx

I have insane raging body dysmorphia, one thing that has stuck with me forever since high school was being called a PRAWN. "keep the body throw away the head". I never thought I had a good body but that still hurt so bad.

I learned what butter face meant in college. I remember being confused because a guy explained a girl I thought was gorgeous could be considered a butter face. I think that’s when I just accepted people, men in particular, are insane and I shouldn’t care what most people think at all

It all made sense when I saw Howard Stern. It always angers me that he STILL has a career and even somehow managed to "rebrand" himself as a serious journalist as he got older. He's been fined for his actions many times, one of the reasons why he chose to move to satellite radio. Nothing was going to happen to Stern. He has countless fans. He chose to change direction because he matured.

I remember being called a butterface behind my back by another girl who thought she didn't like me (she didn't actually know me). She didn't know I was standing right behind her when she called me that and it was gut wrenching and so embarrassing for me. Still haunts me to this day even though she did eventually apologize. Words really stick with you!

Those show clips made me literally feel queasy. Such vile meanness. I feel sad for every participant that had probably been face shamed their whole lives, so they believed they should enter this contest to win the money they felt they could win.

Not only is Sidney Sweeney gorgeous she is not really that far off from what the current beauty standard is. She has unique eyes that aren’t the instagram popular cat eye or fox eye or whatever but her eyes are stunning.
