  • Hi folks, in this video we take a look at how to haul, what to haul in and what not to do! Stop dying to gankers. I see so many killmails with silly amount of ISK in the cargo hold.

    Returned to EvE recently. My one character with a Charon, picked up a contract yesterday.. too good to be true. Couster to Jita only 80mil collateral, 20 mil reward. Contents 49 iterons 980m3 so max use of cargo extentenders, weakened HP. By chance, good luck or whatever, there was nothing there 8am EU time Sunday morning.. Having watched this, I'm giving up hauling until I have enough to replace a possible lost ship.

    Ya, as I started playing in Alpha state, it really dawned on me just how much an alpha lacks in terms of trying to haul in safety, especially if you are trying to do anything in Lowsec, as they have no access to cloak. And with the changes to Warp Core Stabilizer, they can no longer stack 5-6 of those. With that you can only get a core stabilization value of 2, so it really doesn't take much for someone to pin you down.
    That makes it so align time is really the only crutch an alpha has.

    • @mctobi2921

      But you dont need to stay alpha, if you already maxed out in skillpoints at 5 mil, u just can buy omega and sell the newly gained skillpoints to buy next omega and so on....

    the undock of trade hubs is a gank spot many overlook. you have a small invulnerable window on undock but the moment you do anything (align, initiate warp, stop, target etc) you can be targeted
    make a bookmark a few hundred km or more directly ahead of the station undock and insta-warp after exiting station

    Small corrections: You can insta-warp in a Freighter using webs, so that will definitely keep you reasonably safe - unless there's a tackle already on gate, instalock tackles generally beat webs, if they go out on the same tick.
    You can also not bump indefinitely anymore, after three minutes, you will go into warp. Obviously that is still enough time to assemble a gank fleet, and there's ways around it as well.
    Great introductory advice on how to safely haul on a private basis though! Keep it up!

    Great video. There is a lot of misinformation and misunderstanding about safe hauling practices. For anyone who is nervous about hauling, or who doesn't want to invest the skill points and ISK into a proper hauling ship, your best bet is to contract it out to a professional hauling corp like PushX. That way you outsource the risk, and your assets are insured via the contract collateral. But the fact that corps like that exist prove that hauling can be done safely. It's just not as easy as many people think. Safe hauling is a learned art.

    good and informative video. just to add on comment on the viator and occator. so only the viator are immune to cargo scanners, but occator instead have role bonus of +2 warp core strenght, meaning they are quite slippery and hard to pin down. i have been warp scramled couple of times on my occator with sad results on neuts part. just as base you need either 2 scramblers or 1 faction scrambler to hold an occator, and if that one on top have warp core stabilizer in low slot, thats not even gonna be enougth. you dont stand a chance with disrupter regardless of type, and cheapest faction scram cost about 60 mill, so they arent exactly standard for most people

      Being immune to cargo scans can be the kiss of death, they will pop you regardless, just thinking you 'must' have something juicy in the hold, I used one for the warp speed and align speed, I got popped before the screen loaded, they took 23m in minerals, they messaged me blaming me for using an un-scanable ship, they said it was normal to pop a ship they could not scan as it normally was a good drop.

    The best way is to understand how much you can haul per the tank, let's say your in a dst and have 130k ehp heated, stay under 500 mil and your mostly good, a maxed out tank on dst you can get up to 400kehp but your going to spend alot of the tank, you can haul a few bil, as dsts are not reliable to bump n gank as easily so they will need same large fleet used for freighters and may not get the kill. Also if you want to do mwd cloak trick, use a 50mn not a 5, and if you go that route, understand your giving up alot of tank and speed, so don't leave a gate without doing it

It's pretty easy to move over 1B in a small ship. It's also easy to have over 1B in hi-sec compressed ore and PI in their respective transports. I don't have the skills for blockade runners. Today with the changes in stabs... I will probably use my alt as a scout. If something looks fishy... dock, change ships and find some content to entertain myself with. Patience is key.

  • @Taz6688

    Last time I used a web assist, they were flagged at the next gate and could not jump until the timer dropped, CCP has made this possible, you pay taxes to enable system security, the faction police do nothing, concord only show up after you have been attacked, from a lore point the local security should ensure bandits cannot carry out these activities in protected systems, so many times you see -10 appear in system, you know whats happening, they ship up and gank, lore again how can the most dangerous criminals fly around ship up and gank in a system where your taxes pay for security.
    What used to be a rare event is now de rigueur for living in space you pay taxes for. I got ganked before the screen even loaded, I checked and saw it was ok to undock, before the screen loaded I heard the noise, then the screen changed, I was in a pod and the vultures picking my wreck clean, I only had 20m in goods, nothing worth shooting.

    • @SuperKeithers
      @SuperKeithers 2 роки тому +6

      Yes, your webber had a 1minute aggro timer to go thru the gate for an aggressive action. HOWEVER, your freighter has a 1 minute cloak timer to wait for them on the other side. Though, if being pursued, I see how webbing being aggressive really complicates the escape -.- Lore wise, gankers should lose highsec docking rights, and if that was so, those tags to repair the security status would go up in value at least some.

For example if i load up 26 giant secure containers into my occator i can get up to 98k m3 of storage. This is possible because the giant secure container only takes up 3km3 but holds 3.9km3. Smaller secure containers can be used on those smaller ships to get a boost also.

    No the reason players get ganked because CCP promotes it they back the gankers like the Code by interfering with newbie routes and keeping Concord from interfering with the gankers in High sec . Back in 2019 the Code made 97 trillion in drops its why they split because the other corps that made up the code wanted a larger part of the loot . Now there are like 5 large ganking corps out there . The Code and the other ganking corps have done more damage to EVE online because they only target newbies for the most part its why the member numbers stay the same they can not cope with being gank all the time the new players like these ganking corps do until the newbie just quit the game .

      Hey, never played it and know nothing about it.

    • @cooperstephen5810
      @cooperstephen5810 2 роки тому

      @@strange_Net So on top of the contract system, which is similar to what exists in proper EVE, Echoes has a dedicated hauling mechanic for transfer between the specific regional ‘trade-hubs’ (In Echoes, most regions have a designated trade-hub station, which also acts as an InterBus Corp Office). Once docked, you can open up a list of hauling contracts located at your current location, view their destination and number of jumps, and what the average isk per m3 is - that last bit is where things are different, as you don’t need to accept contracts in full, but rather in an m3 volume amount, with collateral and pay scaling accordingly to what you actually ship. You only have to choose how much m3 you want to carry (100m3 being the minimum), and a shipping container of that size is put inside your item hanger (provided you can cover the collateral). Upon arrival, there’s a prompt for delivery, and then you’re good!
      This lowers the barrier of entry for newer players looking to haul, as they can do this activity in t1 industrials or smaller, faster aligning ships and accept smaller portions of larger contracts with less collateral. And with more people hauling, it’ll help move more items quicker around the universe, helping the economy in non-Forge regions. You can even create some kind of dedicated InterBus LP for the activity.
      I wouldn’t recommend Echoes - it’s not that great, but they did do a few things right! Lol

    I'd have to say, I completely disagree with the theory of just avoid ganks by not hauling anything valuable... (ua-cam.com/video/ySxQ65o6lHA/v-deo.html) instead I make myself too hard of a target. I say rather than telling noobs to just not haul expensive cargo, teach them how to properly fit a hauler to survive gankers so they can enjoy the game a little more. I actually get disappointed these days when I don't get scanned, even when I'm not baiting but legit hauling billions between hubs. It doesn't take much to max tank a hauler, even T1 with alpha skills can get to 60k ehp or more. Then a T2 transport, like the mastedon, can hit 400k ehp. When you make yourself too much effort to bother with, they don't even lock you anymore. I'm curious though how many blacklists I've been put on over the years.
    But for realz, this same theory can apply to frigates too, get yourself a Raptor and cheap faction fit over 20k ehp, completely passive and omni. As fast as it moves and warps, it would take some crazy coordination and timing to pull off a gank with enough ships that would require to break it even when autopiloting. I've also used my Raptor to bait nado's, its great.
    Then for freighters, yeah, just tank fit them and get a web alt. Heck my brother and I flew 10's of billions into Jita even during burn Jita without any issues. With a web assist, even just moving a freighter takes it down to just over 1 min per system (weapons timer on the web ship between jumps). With long range webs on something like a Hyena you can hit an uncloaking freighter anywhere on a gate.

  • @ZeroWalker26

    my question is there even a point to owning a freighter ? I mean seeing as they almost go for 4.2 billion isk (that what one Fenrir goes for where im at. ) they would be juicy targets even if they where empty. I mean it´s a like 4.2bill kill mail even if the cargo hold was completely empty. And I know Most ganker don´t kill you for the loot they kill you to piss you off for their own amusement.
