    I made a batch. Put it in a gummy bear mold, then unmolded it and tossed it in icing sugar. ( powdered sugar). I put it in a ziplock bag. A week later, it is one giant mass. I live in a humid climate. I think I needed to boil it slightly longer too. I’ll try that next time to see if it helps. 😊

    Great video, if I wanted to make the hard candies sour, would I just have to add citric acid?

      @ShopCountryKitchen  Рік тому +1

      Yes, just add the citric acid to the candy before molding.

    My candy mixture always turns golden at 160 degrees. I cook it on low but it always turns color.

      Hello Diane, so sorry to hear you are having difficulties with your hard candy. This is definitely a common issue when it comes making candy. Try starting your mixture on low, then once the sugar has dissolved increase the heat to medium-high and keep a close eye on the temperature. It is also good to check the calibration of your thermometer before using to ensure it gives an accurate reading. Let us know if this helps and if you have any more issues! We are happy to help.

    What is the best way to clean the pot and silicone cup after making candy?

      When I make candy grapes I usually add water to the pan or pot after Im done ,let it boil but keep a eye on it on medium or high heat and just keep doing that dump occasionally (you have to do it a few times)till it slides right out just be careful cause it is hot,hope that helps

    The easiest and cheapest way to flavor homemade hard candy is with Kool Aid powder.

    Do i have to use the entire pack? I want to make different flavors/ batches

      Hello! You can make smaller batches by dividing the ingredients listed on the back of the package, or you can make up the entire mix and separate it into different bowls to color and flavor. Hope this helps!

    How many lollipops does the mix make?

    • @ShopCountryKitchen
      @ShopCountryKitchen  Рік тому

      It just depends on the size of mold you use. The mix results in over 1 pound of hard candy!

    Can i microvave it? And can i do it with sour patch lolipops

      We would not recommend cooking the mixture in the microwave as you need to cook the mix to a specific temperature. It will be hard to gage this in the microwave.

      “ Come sit at my table” on UA-cam did this. He made red cinnamon candy. I tried it and it worked! Took about 8 min total in microwave. It was my first try at making hard candy so it’s the only method I’ve tried.
