How to Make Homemade Sour Gummies

- Making homemade sour gummies is a breeze with LorAnn gummy mix. Surprise your kids or sour lover in your life with their own custom gummies.
Add your favorite flavor and color then mold using a silicone mold and large dropper. Use any oil-based flavoring and any gel food color to make your own gummy creation. Allow the gummies to set up for an hour at room temperature then unmold and transfer to a silicone mat lined sheet pan and allow them to dry for 6 hours. This process will give you the gummy texture we all know and love. Once your gummies are done drying, roll them in a mixture of superfine sugar and citric acid crystals to make them sour.

See, this is why I'm here. The package didn't SAY it had gelatin. I looked. If its there then it's not written in english or it's hiding. I was PO'ed too because i thought i was missing an important ingredient!! I didn't want to open the bag and risk it being contaminated while i ran BACK to town to get gelatin!

I use 4 syringes of RSO during the boil to evenly distribute everything, then 2 drams and they are perfect. Tonight I'm making some with a dram of cotton candy and a dram of cinnamon.

First thing I saw when looking up gummy recipes, but you still gave a good explanation. I have a cooking syringe and a small dropper, would those work?
I'm going to start with banana, but want to work on cherry blossom flavor, by the by.
They could work, but the dropper needs to be small enough to drop accurately into your mold without being too big or too small- you may have a mess otherwise! Good luck!

Please tell me what I did wrong, it hardened right as I put the flavoring in and nothing would go into the dropper and it turned into a giant block of stickiness before I could even figure out what happened. I got four gummy bears filled before it went to shit
Hello Frank! So sorry to hear you are having troubles with your gummy candy. What kind of flavoring did you use? (oil-based, extract, emulsion, etc). Different types of flavorings are best added at different times in the cooking process so this may have something to do with your mixture becoming too thick. The temperature and moisture level of the mixture can also cause it to become thick and prevent you from using a dropper to portion it.
What should I do with the extra gummy mix
Pour it into/on to something. I cut up the rest to the weight of whatever I am pouring.

Hello! No need to spray the mold. Once the gummies are set, you can pop them right out.
How much gummy mix do I use with one gelatin
You will need to use the entire gelatin mix & the entire gummy mix provided in the mix shown in the video.
how do i add my coconut oil cannabis to your product? Are there extra ingredients that have to go in, do you know?
We're not sure when you should add it. Try googling when to add it! :)
How many standard size gummies can be made from the 18oz bag
This mix should make between 200-220 standard size gummy bears.

I saw you only had 2 silicone molds filled. What did you do with the rest of the stuff in your pot after filling just 2 molds? Did it go to waste or can you cover it to fill once the candy in the molds set?
@@user-qc9pd5fe5q Hello! We only filled 2 molds to demonstrate the best way to fill silicone molds with gummy mix. All of the mix should be used at once as it will not set up correctly if it is remelted to be used later. We also used a silicone mold with larger shapes so if you use these, it will result in fewer gummies. Hope this helps!
How would I half the recipe? My molds aren't big enough
if you have a kitchen scale, you could weigh out the recipe and work on halving ingredients in question. For conversions, I tend to google it until some of it sticks. good luck, have fun

it doesn't have a preserver in the mix but you can buy the mold inhibitor by lorann to make them last longer.
I just made these but they are so sticky! How can I make them where they won't stick like super glue?! Lol
Gummy candy can become sticky based on the humidity in your area. You can allow them to set up longer at room temperature - about 6-8 hours. You can also coat them in sugar or powdered sugar after they have set up to help prevent them sticking to one another. Hope this helps!

Hello Michael! You won't need any extra gelatin to make this gummy mix. All you need is the packaged gummy mix, high strength flavorings, food color, and silicone molds.
@@ShopCountryKitchen the directions call for another package or gelatin on my bag . Plus I tried to make them it didn't work I had the mis silicone molds and the flavor so idk what I did wrong
I just paid 8$ today for 1 bag of Lorann Gummy Mix. Makes one batch. With that and a $1.50 worth of Lorann flavoring. Plus cost of sugar and citrus powder. There is little to no profit to be made.
There are many factors in play when it comes to pricing homemade goods. As the price of materials and ingredients increase, the price of your finished products must also increase. Your mold size along with the quantity will help you determine how much to charge for your gummies. You can also increase the price of the gummies with the sugar and citrus powder as those are extra ingredients and will take extra time to complete.
