You have some real water there. The Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers here are fair size, but we can see both sides. I loved boat work and all rescue work when I was in. Be safe. God Bless...
This video shows you that people don't care about letting the emergency vehicle through! Maybe the state need tell drivers about moving their car out of the way! Or give out tickets with high prices!
I’m some kind of hybrid enthusiast I’m now getting addicted to pov responses like this I’m an aviation enthusiast and I’m a fishing fanatic, the only thing I haven’t spent hundreds on is pov responses (I’m 14)
In smaller towns where volunteer fire departments are all there are. A lot of firefighters will put lights and sirens in their vehicle and they can legally make their vehicle an emergency vehicle when responding. So sometimes they will respond to the station to get a fire truck or other type of emergency vehicle but a lot of them will respond to the scene and have their turnout gear already with them or have it brought by whoever went to the station. They do this because a lot of them live rurally so it makes it easier to respond directly to the scene instead of maybe 20 minutes to the station and hold everyone else up when they could already be responding.
We carry rescue life vest, rope bag, and helmets in our vehicles. Boat responds to from the station and gets put in the water. We don't wait for a boat. We will go in and make a rescue as long as someone is holding onto our rope as we enter the water. We are not a volunteer dept. All full-time and part-time, fire and medical from EMR to paramedic.
@Firemedic10584 I mean why not? If we are off duty how do we get somewhere? Some respond to the 3 stations to grab additional apparatus and some respond direct as I do. I carry my water rescue gear, wildland/ extrication gear, medical bag, structural gear. Some don't have ELS on POVs though.
ngl I don't think the persons in need of rescue gives a fuck who responds, as long as they help and not just watch on. Sounds like you'd be the clown who stands and watches, @Goober10584.

Who is the other Responder in the pickup? Were you guys hanging out and the tones dropped?
No. We are neighbors. I just left before he did then I stopped real quick to empty my pockets so I could enter the water if needed.
Love the dual sirens with the powercall!
Sadly it is that time of year, hoping that everyone was alright after what happened
Great Response, especially with that tight downtown area!
Everyone was good.

Is the guy in the Buick a firefighter too?
Technically yes, he's retired though and our photographer.
Surely there's a side street that parallels the center of town you could take for faster time?
Only 3 ways to get there. Gotta take your pick on what's faster.
Not many options in South Haven, especially with all the tourists this time of year.
Wish we had Go-Pro footage of you being on the boat/rescue craft.
something's thay can not do with o pro sorry same as news media
Sure miss the days of strobes and halogen rotators
Helluva response !

Good video man and keep up the good work man :) :D
Why are all of you in personal vehicles and not in city or state issued vehicles like an actual firetruck

So yall run POV there...where's your water rescue equipment? Boat? Yall wonder why vollies are considered clowns.
