For those who missed the point of this presentation, the point is to replicate the humility and spontaneity we experience when we do improv. It makes you more likeable when you're "in the moment."

Experience has taught me that humility will indefinitely open doors because people will choose your character over skill. Humilty is a world in one word. Humility is intellect, experience, humor, respect, confidence, honor, self sacrifice, tact, understanding, consideration. Humility is a gift and not everyone posses it. Humility ultimately comes from intellect in my opinion. Not everyone is intellectual. So it is in fact a gift. A gift you can lose. What breeds humility is understanding. If you understand others you can relate. If you lack understanding how can you put yourself in another persons shoes. I think humility is the ultimate gift. Jesus Christ, Gods son, was the most humble man in existence. He was like God, and humility was probably his most memorable trait.

Some people naturally have more humility than others BUT life can also teach humility, make people more humple...so sometimes difficult and painfull things in life can be gifts to become or making people more humple, if there is enough maturity and awareness in person to wake up.

I highly disagree with the point you made that intellect people posses humility. Humility can be taught and understood by every single person, it takes a certain type of pain to understand and fathom how we treat and view others. I don't think Jesus is the most humble person. Everyone is humble and honourable in their own way and I hope that one day we can all at least recognize and treat others with empathy

Christ is not The Creator’s son. Nor was he the most humble person to ever live but I agree with everything else.

This is such a good TED talk! I am laughing, taking notes and learning....and to think I was just looking to learn more about "honesty!" Now I am learning about Nuclear Physics! INCREDIBLE!! LIFE-changing speach!

Saw this in person and it was the highlight of the day. Couldn't wait to watch it again online. The fact that he pulls a volunteer from the audience and makes this guy look so good is amazing!

Agree, not all of the talks at TEDxSarasota were perfect. There was one with extremely loud music and neon pink and green costume characters that didn't make sense at all. Steve's talk on honesty and humility, though, was great, and absolutely fit in with the spirit of TED.

I think that I've been as fairly honest as a publicly expoited person can safely be. If I don't start getting any of that in return, you'll have to understand why I'm not playing along.

tedtalks got too biog for its own good, when i first learned of ted talks, EVERY talk was amazing, now tedtalks as a brand is extremely watered down
you guys are doing like a dozen new talks daily, the last time i watched a good one or even gave one a chance was LONG ago, i wish you guys would go back to being a bit more critical of who you let talk
