Thanks Dave. About a year ago I contacted you and asked if I could stop by and take a look at the inside of your studio. I needed some ideas for my own project. Now my wish has finally come true :D Nice room !!!

Good stuff Dave. I'm looking to create a studio in my living room as well. Not a big space but I think I can make it happen. Just trying to pick the right gear.
My question is how to get everybody listening through headphones in real time while you rehearse just to hear a balanced mix with or without recording. thanks

is there a way to leave it all mic'd up for recording, but also be able to hear it live? I have a guitar amp, bass amp, and PA for vocals but am not sure how to route the instruments to both the mixer (for clear recording) while also being able to hear each instrument out of its own speaker. is this possible?

The Studio Live is the audio interface. That's the beauty of those line of mixers. They are both a LIVE mixer and an audio interface. All connected with a simply USB cable,
I am trying to set up something very similar for rehearsals. What is your take on mic'ing up the guitar and bass amps instead of running direct line outs? I am concerned about mic bleed but I guess it would still be better than what I'm doing now which is recording the entire band with one cheap dynamic usb mic.
Sorry to hear about the kemper I heard mixed reviews on them to Have you checked out the Atomic amplifier Modellers those are getting very positive responses I'm thinking of purchasing one for recording more compact to

you would need a headphone amp that everyone would plug into. I dont do this myself. too much hasel.
I know this is old. But amazing vid dude. Im setting up my first studio in a 12 x 20 shed that I've acquired. Very informative. Awesome bro
Awesome, thank you!
Great setup! Any chance to listen how it sounds?
Soon my friend....very soon!
I want to do a similar set up. Just want to know, is there a way to record while the band plays but also hear them live on speakers?
Navid Rahim Sure, just run everything out of the mixer and into a PA. This is generally how your sound guy will do it at gigs

Great video! Very interesting.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Do or did you guys ever use in ears for rehearsal and if so, pros/cons?
thanks
Yes, all the time.
Nice video! How do you connect your Studio Live mixer to your MacBook? Do you need a special audio interface to acchieve that?
The Studio Live is the audio interface. That's the beauty of those line of mixers. They are both a LIVE mixer and an audio interface. All connected with a simply USB cable,
Thank you very much for the reply, I assumed that, really nice feature. Keep up a great work, can't wait for new video uploads :)
Nice set-up man
Thanks!

I now run both the bass and guitar direct to avoid mic bleed. For guitar I use the Two-notes Captor unit and its amazing

how do you route the headphones? I supposed you use it because otherwise nobody would hear the guitar and the bass.
Correct!
Can I record with a Cubase? If yes how do I connect from the mixer to cubase
you can record with and DAW.
nice setup are you what kind of stand are you using for the Kemper??
HI Bret - I actually do not have the kemper anymore. It died on me after two months and I returned it and went back to a good old tube amp.
Sorry to hear about the kemper I heard mixed reviews on them to Have you checked out the Atomic amplifier Modellers those are getting very positive responses I'm thinking of purchasing one for recording more compact to
