    East Asian countries tend to have strict social norms, but the Philippines does not. For the country's economic development, citizens need to voluntarily and strictly adhere to social norms. Economic development is not a favor given by political leaders or the elite class.

    Korea experienced civilizational development hundreds and thousands of years ago during the dynasty era. The reason Korea fell into the lowest income level of mankind was in the late Joseon Dynasty. Joseon rejected the West's industrial revolution modernization and was ruined by Japan, which accepted the West's modernization recommendations first. During the Cold War, the two systems of liberal democracy and communism split. After a civil war that reduced the country to one of the poorest countries in the world, it is trying to return to the glory days of hundreds or thousands of years ago.

    I think they will need to really export. Their product prices are very cheap so they should export much harder than they do now. More demand needs more workers and more people will be employed, and eventually it'll get to the point wages will rise as there won't be plenty of others that are idle.

  • @ETmixer
    @ETmixer Місяць тому

    No, quite frankly the market has changed drastically from what was originally there and the fact that the Philippines is behind in technological advancements just widens the gap for possible innovation and ability to recoup any means of getting out of this "third world country" status.
    Maybe if we try and shift our focus from tourism to agriculture, we might stand a chance to get out of our current financial crisis. But the government's budget doesn't seem like it'd ever change its priorities. And the longer we wait to make such a shift only makes it drastically harder to do such shift as inflation and supply and demand presents issues along the way.

    In 2033 the Philippines will have it's first trillion dollar GDP joining countries with trillion dollar economies. The birth rate is falling to 1.2 average per woman due to free family planning options provided by the govt, also the low unemployment and rise of middle income Filipino families not just in the cities but in urban outskirts and some rural areas. If these trends continue, it might catch up with SK but it will take 3 to 4 decades. As long as, of course, there will be no another Coup d'etat and Covid, and hopefully China won't attack Taiwan in 2027.

      There is no developed country that relies solely on population and consumption. Is your country autonomous in industry, technology, science and technology, and patents like Japan, Korea, China, and Taiwan 30 years ago? If we still don't start doing those things today, we will still be a developing country in 40 or 50 years 😂

    • @Erick-ev5zt
      @Erick-ev5zt 2 місяці тому

      @@ChipCoDon3 I agree. It's going that route slowly but surely. Of course each country has its own strength and if we want to succeed right now we need to use and maximize it. It would be hard to compete head to head with these east Asian giants right now if we talk about patents especially south east Asian countries like us came from decades of political unrests. That's why we need to make up for these lost decades by capitalizing on human resources then eventually shift from mere manual laborers to a more advanced manufacturing type of enterprise. One good example is that the Philippine defense department starts giving priority to local defense manufacturing companies that make light watercrafts and armored personal vehicles and carriers which in turn will give them budget for their own research. Hopefully that would give these private manufacturers the ability to build more advanced and sophisticated vehicles like tanks, ships or aircrafts locally in the future so we won't need to outsource and import all of our military vehicles.

    Should the Philippines reciprocate its visa policy?
    I've seen a lot of Filipinos wants their country to reciprocate its visa policy where citizens of countries that do not allow Filipinos to enter without a visa should not have the privilege to enter the Philippines visa-free.
    Many Filipinos finds it unfair that these countries can easily enter the Philippines without a visa, while Filipinos need to obtain one and often struggling, which makes them feel discriminated against.
    Currently, citizens of over 157 countries can enjoy visa-free entry into the Philippines, while Filipinos have only 69 visa-free access destinations. This made the people frustrated, saying if the Philippines offered visa-free entry to most of the countries and welcomed them with an open arms, but these countries do not give the same privilege to Filipinos and give them a hard time to enter their country.
    Due to this, they want to scrap visa-free entry to them as a return, except to other countries that allowed Filipinos to enter without a visa. This will ensure a reciprocal visa policy and fairness between the Philippines and other nations.
    There's another reason why many Filipinos wants to scrap visa-free to foreigners. Is it also because what they do in the Philippines, a lot of them came as sexpats, pedos, pinoy-baiting vloggers, poverty porn vloggers, and other things that bothers Filipinos and the country.
    Now, let me repeat the question. Should the Philippines reciprocate its visa policy? Let me down below.

      I think that’s rarely going to happen. A lot of technological companies heavily rely on Samsung and LG tech. They take a huge amount of influence in other international brands. LG dominating in home appliances exceptionally high, and Samsung dominating on phones and telecommunications. Hyundai tech on electric vehicles and so on. Military weapons exports and esports. Uprising Korean fashion. It has been famous more than a decade now and is still makes and influence. Also, Korea’s soft power is significantly smaller than Korea’s hard power which not a lot of people know. Nuclear tech being famous as well. This UA-cam video doesn’t show a lot of information. It just shows the basics OF the basics. Very thin info. But if you go deeper, then yes, Korea is still bigger than you might know of. It won’t be damaged easily I’m afraid. The left-wing communists who attempted to build an agricultural society during the Joseon Dynasty were defeated, and with the determination and strong leadership of Military President Park Chung-hee, the country was reborn as an industrial powerhouse based on a free market economy. During the military regimes of Chun Doo-hwan and Roh Tae-woo, who were elected by popular vote. We were able to achieve vertical economic growth. This new generation was a time when Korea's left-wing communism was at its most vulnerable, and the military government did an excellent job of identifying and selecting leftists who were causing chaos in society, stabilizing people's lives, and building an investment and industrial base. Through strong cooperation with the United States. This led to significant technological cooperation with Japan. Korea is a country founded and developed by right-wing liberal democratic forces. The Philippines can also succeed if right-wing forces take power. There is no successful example of left-wing communism in the world, and this communism is bound to fail because it creates downward standardization and is a society in which people who work hard and develop lose money. I think there is a possibility if the Philippines also takes a pro-American path and allows a right-wing government to remain in power for a long time.
