China is now the number one lender especially the global south as their rates are far mcheaper than the IMF or world Bank. nations are also not made to jump through hoops such as comply to political and economical concessions to IMF/WB before they can be considered for loans. The chinese BIR have 152 out of the 195 nations in the world sign up to the BRI and more are on the process. The Philippines are really very poor and weak in diplomacy, a pity because the SCS disputes can only be solved by diplomacy. Most filipinos are ginorant of it but Vietnam is a more bitter rival of China to the SCS land disputes but that does not stop the vietnamese to still maintain good relations with CHina and thus reaping with trade and investments with China. Filipino politicians as well as the people have a lot to learn from the vietnamese.

Japan has a change of heart, mind and Diplomacy after world war 2. From their former attitude of wanted to enslave Asia and ruling the worlrd militarily and economically to todays thinking of aharing the wotld their technology, innovations and and wealth thru their various initiatives and financial supports to countries as their allies. Their financial supports and loans extended to poor countries bears a very minimal interests in contrast to what the Chinese did which is to goble economy economy of their ally country country thru exorbitant interest rates that later on will results to bancruptcy and their ownership of vsluable assets and economic control. Chinese attitudes are so greedy!!!
i don't think they wanted to enslave asian.. they have no choice but to fight against the west since they have been economically sabottage at that time with the west.. and they were sunctioned too like what the west did today to russia, giving them limited supplies, so their only ways of surviving is to fight the west and their allies.
Very true, you remember they ask apology for their mistake after world war 2, now they realise and catching up how they could extend help and share their knowledge about technology and so forth, Chinese are Naive, they don’t want anything to share not us only but I think to the rest of the world. Hope Marcos will pursue all projects of Japan, So Philippine will be a great country for more than 6 years our Country was not known to other country except China. Hope God will allow prosperity to the Philippine.🙏👏💐
Japan NEVER planned to enslave Asia during WW2. What they wanted were to "push out" all western colonizers in Asia and create "The Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere" to form an economic and military bloc consisting of nations within East and Southeast Asia against the Western colonization and manipulation.
If Philippines are mostly Pro Americans and admire americans. But Filipinos admire Japanese more than any other country. Not surprised the growing good relationship for both countries. Both respect each other

Japan and the US will always be our best allies, they have always treated us with respect and the loans/donations have always been executed in good faith. Japan has given us bridges/trains/roads and non predatory loans.
Important countries with which the Philippines has great partnerships are the ff: USA & UK for Medical Services & BPO sectors, Japan for infrastructure, and Korea for Education.
as long as these japanese businesspeople/investors are more innovative and mindful of their consumers i wont have a problem. im filipino and i will be honest born and raised oligarchs here only care about enriching themselves disgustingly while offering mediocre services to ordinary filipinos (cebu pacific, globe, smart). also, these local oligarchs are cheapskates to the point like you feel they want their employees to live in poverty.
No matter how you look at this, Philippines benefits more than Japan does. I don't know what their motivations are, aside from helping their ally, but I know many would very much support this rather than any other country. Not a western but an Asian country? Check. Not driven by any politics but economic reasons? Check. Trusted not to take advantage of Philippine areas, but helped improve the domestic market? Check. And not aligned with China? A very big check. Also, idealistic projects by Japan is very much more believable than any other country's offer.
Japan is buying Shares in the Philippines because after the Pandemic, they lost a lot and they see Philippines as a growing Economy. In terms of Human Resources, Japan Population is Shrinking and Philippines Population is Growing and spreading around the world. In fact, South Korea is in the midst of a natural decline, so I'm spreading my assets across developed countries like the U.S. and Japan, and I'm also interested in Southeast Asia.
If you make more than $100,000 a year in South Korea, you pay higher taxes than anywhere else in the world, with inheritance taxes ranging from 50 percent to as high as 77 percent, making South Korea one of the most popular countries in the world for people to drop their citizenship.
While I do respect the japanese for their investment in our country, I think we should use it as an opportunity to develop our own industries, we have a work force and growing talent, we should attempt to develope our industries along side this aid to strengthen our independance. Imagine our own metal industry, automotive industry, power generation, etc etc. I think our country should be great with collaborating, at the same time be able to stand firm alone. I would hate the see my country end up as a puppet to other countries industries. But what do I know Im filipino but wasnt even born or raise there.
Yes, I see a strong work ethic here stateside in my Pinoy-Pinay Paisanos. Poverty, is a great motivator to succeed. I've experienced it personally. I left a cyclical industry -construction laid me off and trained in stable industry- steady work healthcare (many sub specialties) so always have medical related job. Poverty taught me to shift, retrain reinvest in myself and resume working hard. Now, if laid off, I simply change my sub specialty so I can keep Adobo on table, and keep my American bahay kubo so I stay off street. I must be a smart Filipino then. So if I'm smart, then my cousins back home are just as smart if not more! Are Japanese culture work oriented culture, more than Filipinos? Probably. But we can emulate them. And if anything, observe our Indonesian cousins, they look exactly like us, but they are more work oriented. Maybe that's why their infrastructure is better than in some of the provinces Indonesians are a case study for us Filipinos, they (Indo) too are descended from multiple island tribes different languages, but they rallied under a common flag to succeed. Why not rally Filipinos the same way? Tara na.
Hopefully the good aspects of their work culture. I know for sure Filipinos will still have Filipino time regardless (never under estimate how stubborn we can be) but hopefully it will be minimized.

We should also enhance our military ties with Japan to counter communist Chinese territorial expansion and imperialist ambitions!
You are just blinded by your hate of the chinese.
Historically, Japan has invaded Asian countries as part of their expansion plans. China has not done that.
I probably have met around 50~ Japanese people at my workplace here in the Philippines and I can honestly say I have yet to meet a Japanese person that was rude towards me or to other Filipinos. They are super respectful to our culture and they appreciate our nature spots.
As always, sky's the limit for PH. However, culture of rampant corruption and political instability slows down or even totally hinders the country's prosperity.
They just elected the son of a corrupt dictator. What a backwards country, it's going no where.
The people as well, especially unruly people who gave part in hindering the development in every aspect or sectors of the Philippines.
most filipinos are educated but lazy in finding the truth so they rely on chismis as their means of information kya tayo lag behind our asian neighbors
@@josephp5005yes, it's more of the Filipino majority. We're democratic and republican state, so whatever corruption in the higher ups starts with the electorate especially in our LGUs
Japan is here to take. Not to partner. Get that in your head. Japanese corporations do not give back. They take. BTW so is their government in WW2.
I wish japan handles the infrastructure budget in the philippines because we know how corrupt some of our government officials are.. Immagine they are rebuilding a road that just been build a year or two😅😅 some bridges up until now for how many years has not been fixed...
Even massive delays on recent sewage projects
Very TRUE philippines L.G.U are useless
Better for the Philippines that Japan as their choice rather than china.Japan is honest and commited to help.Thank You Japan for helping the Philippines !
Its ok
We love japan in so many ways
We love japan and philippines and all allied forces
Very true, you remember they ask apology for their mistake after world war 2, now they realise
and catching up how they could extend help and share their knowledge about technology
and so forth, Chinese are Naive, they don’t want anything to share not us only but I think
to the rest of the world. Hope Marcos will pursue all projects of Japan, So Philippine
will be a great country for more than 6 years our Country was not known to other
country except China.
Both respect each other
Simply beacause japan is not a traitor and greedy!!
Agree with you they are honest when dealing business in other country they don’t want to
be shameful to other people as I notice and observed I work in one of their big retailers
business in Melbourne I admire Japanese I have more respect to them.
Ignorant comment. Go look up WW2
The 3 are allies🇺🇲🇯🇵🇵🇭

I love the Philippines and Pilipinos People. Very nice people I’ve ever met. I hope we will continue our collaborations. Greetings from Japan.
Collaborating with Japan is a big big YES for me... make a big advantage in any way..❤❤
Welcome Japan your a real friend to Filipinos ❤
Let's protect Japanese investment in the Philippines. Japan is 'family'.
Japanese investment is
fair. Let's work hand in hand with the Japanese. 👌
That’s Japanese Culture always be fair to everyone.Admirable👍👍👍

Japan and the US will always be our best allies, they have always treated us with respect and the loans/donations have always been executed in good faith. Japan has given us bridges/trains/roads and non predatory loans.
Japan true friend.. phil.
Philippines loves Japan!❤️
The Japanese people are honest, strict discipline, and topnotch businessmen.
Important countries with which the Philippines has great partnerships are the ff: USA & UK for Medical Services & BPO sectors, Japan for infrastructure, and Korea for Education.
THANK you JAPAN.
Japan, North Americas, Australia , and Europe are countries that must be relied on👍👍👍
as long as these japanese businesspeople/investors are more innovative and mindful of their consumers i wont have a problem. im filipino and i will be honest born and raised oligarchs here only care about enriching themselves disgustingly while offering mediocre services to ordinary filipinos (cebu pacific, globe, smart). also, these local oligarchs are cheapskates to the point like you feel they want their employees to live in poverty.
Japan's investments in the Philippines, compared to their investments in other southeast Asian countries, is quite insignificant.
Insignificant?
The best business partner of the Philippines.
Insightful information
We could learn from Japanese hard work honesty and love ❤️ of country . Domo arigato Japan.
Can someone check please?
Do we have more Filipinos in Japan, next to US?
Also, i will choose Japan over china bully, any day
MARAMING SALAMAT JAPAN IN HELPING OUR GOVERNMENT INVESTING FOR THE FUTURE GENERATION. MABUHAY AND MORE POWER…
JAPAN NOT CORRUPT 🎌🇵🇭🎌 BANZAI JAPAN!
Japanese are good to the Philippines ❤❤❤
Japan is buying Shares in the Philippines because after the Pandemic, they lost a lot and they see Philippines as a growing Economy. In terms of Human Resources, Japan Population is Shrinking and Philippines Population is Growing and spreading around the world. Yes Japan has the Strongest Economy in the World and the basic needs of People are expensive to Buy. To ease the effect of great loss and to grow more, they have to outsource in The Philippines, in Thailand, In Indonesia, mostly in South East Asia because SEA will be the Richest Archipelagos 30 years from now. ❤
United we are strong!
It was PNoy who really opened Ph to Japan investments both public and private.
Thank you to all Japanese who tried to help us. Thank you
Good news for Philippines people and Japan government officials Thank you very much Japan government officials
Japan is investing in the Philippines of course because the population we have averages 24 years old versus Japan’s at least 45-50 years old.. a market that is surely losing consumption in almost all its industries . It’s a 2 way street in favor of Japan ls access to about 60 Mm young Filipinos .
Yes, not surprised. Japanese observed Elon Musk's play with satellite and internet opportunity. Japan may want share of the Southeast Asian halo- halo/cendal.
Japan invest more in Thailand Indonesia Vietnam
GREAT...GREAT THANKS TO JAPAN GOVT and IT'S PEOPLE...YEAR 2023 IS THE GREATEST COLLABORATIONS BETWEEN JAPAN and PHILIPPIBES @ THE HIGHEST ORDER.....WITH FULL SINCERETY...HONESTY and TRUST.....GOD BLESSED JAPAN and PHILIPPINES....LONGLIVE PRES. BBM and PM of JAPAN....
Mitsukoshi Mall will be as big as SM Malls within a decade. No more Japanese Visa for Filipinos next year probably
In your dreams, can be possible only if both country have same high standard of living. Stilk ph is way 30k yrs behind.
Thailand, Indonesia, Brunei, Singapore and Malaysia are already Visa Free in Japan. Philippines and Vietnam will be the next in SEA because these two countries are also belong to their top tourists compare to other Westerners which are required No Visa in Japan
japan Philippines❤❤❤❤
I trust Japan,. Japan is honest and straight shooters. .. I can't say this for China or Russia or Iran..
Yes,for the past decades,Japan manifested a better, good friend of the philippines.
Thank you Japanese people for staying with us to develop our country and become tiger country in the next coming 10yers don't leave us instead stay live here forever in the Philippines
I hope philippines will be the next japan in the near future.
japanese are the most humble and trushworthy in this planet😊
they are also wise and smart.
Most Southeast Asian countries have great potential and I think they will be more advanced than Korea in 20 or 30 years.
I'm also considering a move to North America, Japan, or Southeast Asia in the near future.
Right now, I'm thinking too much about which country I should move to.
아무튼 세상에서 가장 정직하고 아름다운 나라인 일본과 발전 가능성이 무궁무진한 필리핀 모두 위대한 나라가 되기를 진심으로 기원합니다.😊
While I do respect the japanese for their investment in our country, I think we should use it as an opportunity to develop our own industries, we have a work force and growing talent, we should attempt to develope our industries along side this aid to strengthen our independance. Imagine our own metal industry, automotive industry, power generation, etc etc. I think our country should be great with collaborating, at the same time be able to stand firm alone. I would hate the see my country end up as a puppet to other countries industries. But what do I know Im filipino but wasnt even born or raise there.
Im happy Japan's efforts to reconcile what they did in the past. I can accept that than this brewing evil of China
Will Philippines also adapt Japan's work culture?
Hell nah, why would we
most people would rather jump off the burge khalifa than go through that shid💀
Maybe that's why their infrastructure is better than in some of the provinces
Indonesians are a case study for us Filipinos, they (Indo) too are descended from multiple island tribes different languages, but they rallied under a common flag to succeed. Why not rally Filipinos the same way? Tara na.
Hopefully the good aspects of their work culture. I know for sure Filipinos will still have Filipino time regardless (never under estimate how stubborn we can be) but hopefully it will be minimized.
Most of us are prone too much on mañana habit... our ancestors must be so proud...
Welcome home japan, we have been waiting for you arrigato😊😊😊
Welcome to home/ASEAN, Japan
My children attend Nailon Elementary School, which was built decades ago by the Japanese. It is badly overcrowded and needs a great deal of modernization.
This is great news.

Better to be a province of Japan than greed China 🤗
I’m🇵🇭 and I have always driven a HONDA because I trust 🇯🇵 products So I would put my 💵 on JAPAN
And Philippines badly needed that Japanese culture in politics too!
I mean Japan politicians resign the moment shame come into light!
In some of my comments I ALWAYS SAY JAPANESE CULTURE THEY VALUE SHAMEFULNESS.
I work in one retailers business in Melbourne I notice they don’t want to commit shame on
them self feeling it’s a big crime. and no one will trust them at all that’s how they feel.
So amazing hope our politicians and some people would realise.👏👏👏
wow that felt like some dude reading multiple company press releases for 10 minutes. I should know because I used to write such press releases. :P
Good thing that Japan values us. 😢 despite the fact that our security alliance iwht US and Japan makes Taiwan safer from a Chinese invasion. Yet Taiwan invest more on Vietnam than Philippines
Let's just be grateful folks 😅
They invest more in Thailand Vietnam Indonesia
@@tadanarilee6003 no problem with Japan invest more in Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam. made corrections the “they” I meant was Taiwan. Would think that a economically strong Taiwan would make it more secure which makes them economically active.
@@maninthemiddleground2316 oh sorry my bad
But I never heard of Taiwan investing in ASEAN country, it's always Japan China or Singapore
@@tadanarilee6003 Taiwan invests in ASEAN and even specifically in the Philippines however it’s somewhat muted and are “drowned out” by Japan, Korea, China, US.
Editing on these videos are amazing
nah editing is pretty meh when compared to other economy essay channels
Good, i hope this keep going till Japan became a visa free country for Filipino pasport holders.
wow im impressed how you get the info ❤
Thanks
The fact is: JPN's investment in the PH is nothing compared to its investment in Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia
If you do your research, you will realize that Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore all received far more Japanese investments, M&A's and more. The Philippines is not even in the top 10 of Japanese investments in Asia!
Simply because it is difficult for foreign investor to do business in the Philippines because we have the 60/40 law. That’s one of the main reasons were have less investments compared to our neighbors.
Japan is the Philippines long lost Oriental Brothers or Sisters. Philippines love Japan even though we have differences in WW 2. Japan is our Bridge to our love of anything Japanese. It will advance our Economy, The discipline to learn from Japan is very intelligent, smart move! 🇵🇭♥ 🗾...
The unconventional investments & cooperation of Japan with & in PHilippines is beneficial to both countries. Its prophesied that Japan economy shall fall due to calamities while PH will grow.
That can`t be true. The Philippine economy is growing only die to foreign investments.
