Today I replaced the headlight and high-beam bulbs with LEDs on my Ford C-Max Energi Hybrid. The process is easy enough for anyone to follow along.
WARNING: LEDs don't seem to work on the early 2013 build of the C-Max (before 7/8/13), so if you have a 2013, please check the build date. Needs to be later in 2013 because they changed something about the headlight circuit after that...
If you get blinking/flashing, then I suggest adding ballast resistors to increase the current drawn from the bulbs: Hyper-Flash Load Resistors: geni.us/6ohm-Anti-Blink

Also, please note that some early 2013 owners are having problems with the bulbs not staying on, so I would suggest getting a resistor set as well in case this is needed. I'm waiting for others to reply back if the resistors solve their problems. Most people are not having problems (myself included), and mine is a 'late 2013' model.

I greatly appreciate you for making this video. It helped me to replace the front right turn signal bulb in my 2013 C-Max E-nergi. I would not have known otherwise to remove the top fender screws (and about the tab on the light assembly housing). With your help I successfully removed the assembly and replaced the bulb in just minutes. Sincerely, thank you! Also, my bulb was incandescent so I stayed with that for the replacement only because I slightly fear change, but thank you again for helping me.

I have attempted to install LED's twice in my 2013 C-Max Hybrid SEL. First was a set from C6 and the 2nd attempt a set by Daylead. Both would work only with the vehicle "on" but would cut out when started and in running mode. The ECM literally kills the headlights because of the draw. I attempted a cancelling capacitor but that didn't work either (and the box is way too big for interior placement in the assembly). I can't be the only one who's had issues with this, but nobody seems to have a fix?

@@sleepingtiger4436 The hyper-blinking is caused by the car not sensing enough current being drawn by the old style bulb. Those drew several amps of power, which the car uses to confirm that the bulb isn't burned out. Turn signals and brake lights are important safety features, which is why they add this current-sense function. To fool the car, you need to add a large resistor to 'burn' off power as heat like the old bulb did. You need to add a resistor across the leads of the LED because the LED draws perhaps 1/10th the power of the old bulb. Here is a link to what I use: geni.us/6ohm-Anti-Blink
