      I can confirm that I popped down to my local motor parts place, grabbed a rear brake piston wind back tool set (first time having to do this procedure - my kit was red and it was fitting M!) and and a set of Brembo brake pads, all fitted ease and as instructed in your video, which was very helpful! Cheers !

    Easy job, hardest part is getting the carrier bolts off when replacing discs as they are usually thread locked on. 18mm socket and a lot of pressure to crack them loose

    Good vlog, I’ve found the thread on the wind in tool is often courser than the handbrake thread…if you see what I mean. It helps to screw it in til it gets tight then back it off a bit then screw it in again

    I like using bosh stuff it’s probably one of the better made filters and has a good range of different types for various cars. Good video cheers.

    Nice video mate! My mk4 Mondeo is very similar when I’ve serviced it. Mine has the fuel filter down near the rear axle though!
    I bought a special angled 27mm wrench for ford oil filter housings for less than £15 which is perfect for releasing the housing easily from above 👍🏻

    Wow that was a lot of copper grease on areas not in contract, will that not attract dirt ?

    • @mec-tec
      @mec-tec  10 місяців тому

      Ive not had a problem before, some dirt will stick but it doesnt usually cause any issue 👍👍

    • @williamgreen5575
      @williamgreen5575 9 місяців тому +1

      You don't need to grease the back of the pads at all! They come with pre fitted non stick shims. You also should not be using 3-in-1 for the slide pins. The petroleum based oil will degrade the rubber boot. You should be using the correct rubber safe grease (not copper grease either!)

    • @mec-tec
      @mec-tec  9 місяців тому +1

      @@williamgreen5575 i always find the anti sqeal stick on bits on the pads dont work, so i always add copper grease, works for me 🤷‍♂️ agreed.on the oil but it was all i had at the time 👍

      @mec-tec  Рік тому +2

      Hi mate
      I wouldnt use a trolley jack on the sill unless you have a rubber pad on it, i usually jack on a subframe or lower arm mount 👍

    Hi can you help took mot failed emissions so done oil change then when I collected ford Durand c max 2014 it came up on dashboard engine malfunction orange light but brakes are funny press brake you can hear ising when press brakes any ideas please it’s on fiancé brakes wore ok when it went for mot now they seem spongy 😮

    • @mec-tec
      @mec-tec  11 місяців тому +1

      Hi mate, an oil change unfortunatly wont change your emmisions, you would need to plug a code reader in to see what the orange light is on the dash, as for the brakes, if you can hear a hissing sound it probably has a vacuum leak, check the pipe under the bonnet going to the brake servo, hope this helps MEC 👍

    I can't understand how people go to a garage and pay money to get someone to do such basic things to be honest. Like, there's people who'll pay to get their dipped headlight bulb replaced.

    I always thought it would be necessary to somehow bleed / get the air out after changing the diesel-filter. I saw another UA-cam-video with a dude who used pumps etc. to allegedly remove air etc. after a filter change. Is it really not necessary and will the air just "go away" by itself? I drive a 2,0 TDCI 140 myself and need to do a filter change soon - that´s why I am asking 🙂
    PS: Ford has really put that cabin air filter in the most stupid place ever LOL !

    • @mec-tec
      @mec-tec  11 місяців тому +1

      Hi mate on the 2.0 140 i usually fill the fuel filter housing up with Diesel so when the you put the new filter in, there shouldnt be much air in there and as you say it will bleed itself out as it runs, hope that helps, yup they do put the cabin filter in a really daft place ! Haha All the best MEC 👍👍

    MAJOR PISSED OFF. That thing a DIESEL? I own a Ford Cmax, energi here in America. This car replaced my 40mpg VW TDI. Mine is a modified Atkins cycle gas engine. I get 45 mpg, but if it was a diesel power plant, I would be pushing 70mpg.
