I was the operator that day (in the hat) it was an honor getting to give you a ride on the famous Mouse Mine#9 !!!!

The flying insect is "Horace the horse fly" the story they play while standing in line tells about the characters in the mine.

What a great place especially for younger children. The mouse mine ride was so cute. That steam engine was awesome and so nice of him to show you around and answer your questions. Would not want to be an engineer on a hot day unless sitting on an ice pack. Keep Safe❤Keep Well❤

OMG I used to go there every other year with my grandparents. Sweet memories thanks for sharing 🙏🏻. Especially the train ride when the Indians and the cowboys have a shoot out ♥️✌️ this is new to me and beautiful. I haven’t been back since the fire

I loved this ride as a small child and had grandiose memories of the ride. When I returned in my late teens, I was shocked that the cheese mine scene was so small you could almost see out both ends of the tunnel 😄. I still love the nostalgia of it though. That song does stick in your head!

It's funny that 100 years ago, a can-can show was provocative and considered perverse. Today, our society is so desensitized that can-can shows are apart of a childs amusement park. 😂

I noticed they had shorts-like underpants on, though, and I guess it's just part of the old west theme. Good point, though.

My Grandfather who was a boy in OLD time Paris, told me that at the original Can Can shows at Moulin Rouge, some of the dancers wore NO underpants..so the ruffling up of the skirts brought in the customers. I guess those were the days. :-)

im more surprised people paid just to see people dance around! like that was THE highlight entertainment!
then again with the obsession with sites like Tik Tok it doesnt seem like we came that far along after all... i rather ride a good heart pounding roller coaster any day! watching people dance is boring!🤣

Hey carpetbagger fun fact about the tweetsie railroad is that it is a narrow gauge railroad which means that's the tracks are closer together than the standard gauge track

A cheese mine. The funny thing is Big Pit, a former operational mine in South Wales is now partially being used to store Caerphilly cheese, due to the cold temperature down there. So it's literally a cheese mine!

I love these old amusement parks. Rode the Assiniboine Park Steam Train last month in Winnipeg, Manitoba for the 1st time. I'd like to take a trip on a full-size one, before they're all permanently out of commission.

Another note to the Engineer and Conductor question. On both freight trains and passenger trains the answer is correct. Engineers run the train and Conductor manages the train. Engineers run not drive trains just a side note. Confusion comes for most people when they hear people use Conductor as the person operating the train. When it comes to commuter trains, elevated trains, subways and the sort. Operators of those are called Conductor or Motorman.

tweetsie railroad is my jam, but let me tell you a little thing about the mouse cheese mine it's evil! I remember every time my mom would bring me to tweetsie we had to ride it. I wanted to jump out of the cart and beat cheese out of that stupid song. the guy who runs the train most have sound proof headphones that's probably why he hasn't gone crazy from that song!

The dark ride was really cool, and the atmosphere was wonderful there. I just wish that they didn't stereotype the Native Americans in their one tableau. Learning about the train was very neat; I had never seen the inside of the engine before except in abandoned ones and those are different. Thanks, Jacob! (Also, I hope you were able to get some sleep last night!)
