Dracula’s castle used to be covered in gum. They cleaned it all off and re-qued the line so that it doesn’t pass the wall.
Really when was that?
Sounded like alot of work
I remember that!
@@angiem.8905 I think i was to young, was it by the lockers?
I absolutely remember that growing up!!
You did it! You are my hero Jacob. So many youtubers skip lagoon entirely!
I’m trying to show some love to the theme parks that don’t get a lot of attention on UA-cam
Why?
@Jacqueline Yes.
@@TheCarpetbagger When I was little on the white rollercoaster my lap bar popped up on me as it was going up the hill my mom reached out and held me down the entire time or else there is no way I could have held on some little girl named Kilee King was ejected a couple of year before that and died there are ghost stories of her hunting the coaster ride
You know it'll be good when you hear "AHHH COMPRESSED AIR"
I'm so glad you visited my home park! Probably one of the most underrated parks in the country. Pioneer Village is extra sweet. The "roller coaster" is one of the oldest out there.
I LOVE pioneer village it’s the coolest. Remember when they had old west shoot outs and wagon rides?
@@missmeppsie3389 I have so many memories of the park in general. I wish they still did shootouts, and that the Poineer Village railroad was still around. At least Lagoon has kept it well kept all these years. I really like the rattlesnake rapids area. I wish Jacob filmed more of pioneer village but oh well.
It was a truly unique and amazing park
Mr Knowhere the museum’s and the old buildings are worth a day to just go through honestly. They’re so awesome.
@@TheCarpetbagger glad you liked it:)
"Oh leave your body, Jacob." That part had me cackling. I feel your pain my man.
I was drinking water and almost spit it all out lol.
My heart jumped out of my body on that first dip down lol
I am impressed you rode all the roller coasters!!
I figure if I was allowed to film I needed to go for it
The Carpetbagger I am truly proud of you! You had me laughing and you always bring the best content. Thanks for all you do!!
"Compressed air already!"...there's your sign the rest will be a ton o' fun.
I appreciate all the work brother it's helped me get through this year
Thank you!

When you're in Draculas castle and go through the "close quarters" after the masoleum, the walls used to spin around you as you went through.
This video is making me feel old. I was in a swimming pool at Lagoon the day Nixon resigned.
I'm sorry, that last coaster was too funny. You were dying 😂
I was just telling my husband about an amusement park my family stumbled upon while camping as a child. OMG it was LAGOON. I couldn't remember it's name. It wasn't as dark themed 49 years ago. Wow that aged me. Sharing this with my sister.
I want to make a wheelchair accessible dark ride. I absolutely love dark rides.
..Man, THATS a great reality check. Have at least ONE cart set up for wheelchair accessibility. Thumbs up to progressive thinking !
501rivet I would love to be able to ride one and have others enjoy it as well. I know I’m not the only one in a wheelchair that would love to ride a dark ride or other amusement park rides.
I'm not in a wheelchair, but I think that's a great idea. If you ever do make a dark ride, please try not to do a haunted house. Those things are a dime-a-dozen :-P
That’s a fantastic idea! A for real reality check! Not enough things are wheelchair accessible
I definitely would love to see that, it’s seems doable. I know small world at Disney has a boat that can hold a wheelchair
I love Lagoon! I used to work the carnival games for 4 years! Definitely a good park to visit
The dark rides look amazing, but my heart breaks for the wild cats in the small concrete cages
Utah residents have been trying for years to get Lagoon to either place the animals with the local zoo or provide better living areas than those terrible little cages :(
My honey used to manage there and he said, while the enclosures don't look too good, their homes in the back are very nice and the animals are very well taken care of. Howpfully that helps❤
@@swamotts5281 That does make me feel better! Thank you :)
Its unfair to judge without knowing background. They are taken better care of than most zoos, and not to sound like a jerk, but the people who complain about it don't really know what they are talking about. And they aren't there all year, they are taken elsewhere in the winter.
@@rodneytracy9498 indeed they do, I had a aunt who worked at lagoon for close to 20 years, and worked close to the animals, so it always annoys me when people say that they are being abused or something without knowing background
Oh wow! About time someone shows Lagoon some love! I only been there once when I was working in Utah for a few weeks. Went on my day off and have been wanting to back since
I'm definitely putting this park on my bucket list. So many rides I want to try!
I hold a special reverence for Lagoon. I deeply love and appreciate it. I'm 39 and I've gone every year since I was 4. It's like a living breathing journal. I can see little ghost versions of me running around. My favorite ride is the Jet Star 2. A humble little rollercoaster that makes up for it's size by high rates of change in direction; you feel like you're going faster than the bigger coasters. Way to be Jet Star 2 you beautiful little spitfire! ❤️
That lady vampire looks like a green Michael Jackson! Lol 😂🤣😂
So cool to see your take on Lagoon. I don’t think I’ve seen you ride so many rollercoasters in one theme park before. I hope You enjoyed your time here in Utah.
Thank you Jacob for being so brave riding those amazing coasters and Dark rides! Awesome video!
Exactly like I would design my own park, really charming and clean property.
Very cool park. There is nothing funnier than watching you ride roller coasters.
The dark rides were great. The lighting was above average. I wonder how much of the scenes and animations were original to the Tracy installation. Disappointed to see the live animals in cages. Would have been more excited to see a working vortex tunnel instead. But that Park MAP! OMG!
The animals at lagoon are taken better care of then the animals at a local zoo. Sure, there cages are small, but it's not like they stay in those cages the whole year. Terror Ride has been completely changed over the years, but Dracula's Castle has lots of original scenes.
Looks like a lot of fun.
Your best fear confrontation to date, congratulations I had lots of fun.
I’m glad you finally did Lagoon! The Tracy dark rides are my favorite as well. Seems he liked utilizing R.O.U.S.s- (Princess Bride Reference)...lol. So they updated Terroride a couple of years ago. They kept many of the components and did a facelift with a new theme.
Yeah. Pretty sure that was because some guys thought it was too bad for kids.
Saying "I hate roller coasters" while sitting in one about to take off is SUCH A MOOD
Edit: BIIIIG HECK NO to Cannibal. Holy crap dude. My heart rate increased and my hands and feet started sweating when you came to that opening drop at the very beginning. I would be CRYING. You rock Jacob!!
Cannibal was actually built 100% in house and held the record for the steepest drop in the US until American Dream opened. Since that's closed right now because of the Unpleasantness, you currently have ridden the steepest drop on a roller coaster in the western hemisphere. From Shellraiser 121.5 degree drop, they are all only a degree or less difference before Cannibal at 116 degrees.
That Terroride darkride was really cool!
Got to be the scariest roller coasters all in one place……………thanks for riding all of them!👍🤓
Double Attaboy, Jacob!!!! I can't believe you rode all those coasters!!! You're a trooper all right!!! The dark rides were the best!!! Thanks for doing them twice!!!! Excellent job, Carpetbagger!!!! Love you!!!!
This too is my amusement park that I visited often when younger, we was on one of the dark rides when the ride lost power, they had to turn on the lights inside so that we could exit the building, makes you appreciate how much work goes in to the rides. There used to be a place in there called the "Fun House" that had slides and turntables that you would get on, it would spin very fast and you would try to be the last on it. Ahhh the memories, Thanks Carpetbagger!!!
Thank you for visiting Lagoon!! I love it there. It was my first job.
These dark rides and that Cannibal 'coaster are exactly why i should have the superpower to transport rides to my local park. Cheers for another great tour, CB
My husband was a manager here and absolutely fangirled when he found out you came here! We are huge fans of yours!
Awesome Amusement Park! Looks So Fun There! That Last Ride Looked Incredible! WOW! Thanks For Sharing Your Adventures! Take Care!
“Aaaarrgghhh the raaaat” I fell OUT🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I worked at lagoon and Dracula's castle as a ride operator....... so many sneak doors to get through!! Loved this!!
Soon as you hear "what are you!", you know Jacob is in haunted house fear mode.
I actually saw The Monkees there on their 20th Anniversary tour back in 86. So many good memories here and am so glad you enjoyed it.
Jacob and his screams are legendary
Welcome to Utah!
So happy to see Lagoon getting much needed love! I moved from Utah the same year Cannibal was opening, so I'm so glad I got to experience it through this video! Hope to see you heading there again when that new ride opens!
I think most people say the cannibal is the best ride now, beating out wicked after it came out.
I think that is the most coasters that I have ever seen you ride in a video. Thanks for braving some pretty intense looking coasters for our entertainment! That last one looked really cool.
OMG !!!!!!! THIS WAS A ABSOLUTE TOP NOTCH VIDEO JACOB 🙂 Thanks for the ride !!! Im AMAZED at how brave you've become !!!! There's no way I would've gone on that last roller coaster !!!! Much respect from this girl right here ✌❤🙂
I have fond memories of Lagoon as a kid. Typically, the “dark rides” were for the heat of the day when we desperately wanted air conditioning. I have never been super creeped out by things like that, but that honking horn and headlights would get me every time.
The rides are so much better when the cameras facing forward! It’s like I’m riding!!
..."Leave your body, Jacob!" LOL
You had me laughing soooooo
Hard. Every video you do, at an amusement park, makes me laugh. You don't really like as ny form of roller coasters, let alone dark rides. Thanks for the video, and the laughs.
I honestly would love to grow up and do stuff like this when I get older. Just travelling, seeing the world, living my life, especially seeing haunted and abandoned things!
Wow those are some great dark rides. I have to say Lagoon is one park I really knew nothing about so I really enjoyed this video.
I worked there for 2 years. I'm so happy to see you go there! I miss working there so much. This video is nastalgic for me. Love your work!!!
Thanks for going on the crazy coasters that I would run away from!!
Lagoon is a fun place. Glad you checked it out.
Dude carpetbagger thank you so much for not only showing one of my favorite amusement parks but also going on rides that I could never go on. I miss Lagoon. I love all your videos. Keep up the great work.
Hii from SLC Utah o/' the Terroride scared the sh!t out of me as a kid..oh ya and the old creaky roller-coaster.
I seriously didn’t ride that with my eyes open until I was 14/15? I was so afraid of it 😂.
I am in Utah too and no clue how that things still running 😂
Havent been there in close to 30 years.. good to see some of the rides I remember are still there.. use to love Flying Aces.
Is there any way you can keep the camera pointed forward when you go on Roller Coasters? I would love to see the ride especially since most of us can't travel during this time and I do miss riding them.
yes plz
Was about to suggest the same... cool videos and cool parks!
@@sarahpodwys2827 please*
Yes please, I’ll never rides these things so if you point it forward it’s “almost” like riding them 🤢
Proud of you for not skipping Cannibal!!! 👍🏼
I’ve been anxiously waiting for you to visit Lagoon!!
AAARGH A TROLL! AAARGH A WATERFALL! THE HORROR!
And wow the fassade of Dracula's castle is really splendid!
I know so much of the history on the park and I wish I could of gone this year. Glad you made it.
Wow, haven't been there since I was a kid, grew up 140 miles from there. Went there for school field trips, and family outings, Thanks Carpet Bagger! 🤗💕🌠🐶
Awww, my childhood was ill spent there. Hasn't changed in 50 years. Love that place.
My favorite part? The animatronic toilet. Hands down.
Carpetbagger has THE best on-ride reactions 😄
Jacob u are brave thank u for being u and sacrificing for your viewers
Great job! Great to see some of the original Bill Tracy displays retained in both rides. The Vamp is the catalog name of the female green bust in the facade of Terroride. I’ve always been fascinated by Dracula’s Castle because it was installed the same year Tracy died, and his talented team of young artisans got to do the creative and installation. Originally, the ride’s first two rooms had lots of strobes and mirrors. That’s since been replaced by some very effective scenes. Happy to see Tracy’s Collapsing Beam and Blasting Skeleton. Sad to see his original Torture Chamber apparently removed.
Went there over 40 yrs ago and had fun. Looks even better now!
Then go back now!
I love your vids so much. I've
lived in Utah my whole life and am so thrilled that you came here! Lagoon is one of my favorite places on the planet! So glad you went. It was really fun to watch this!
My dad took me on the terror ride when I was like 5 and the horn at the end traumatized me. I couldn't even walk past it until I was like 16.
Wow, over a hundred years old. Fantastic. Looks like a lot of fun.
I split my viewing into two different nights. Kudos for hanging on and doing the coasters even though you didn't seem comfortable on them. I adore this park so much. Love to see peoples reactions to it.
I am glad you ride the Roller Coasters so I don't have to. I hate heights , But I get a kick out of watching others having fun and freaking out. Thanks Jacob!.
The Colossus roller coaster looks a lot like Taz Texas tornado in the old AstroWorld in Houston Texas
An excellent use of theatrical lighting and audio.
8:49 smooth
Jacob suffering coasters for our enjoyment.
This video reminds me of why I love watching The Carpetbagger! Thanks again Jacob! Well done, sir
Ahh my hometown ! Thank you ! It brings back so many memories
I really enjoyed this video, Jacob! 👍👍👍👍
That was an amazing park. Thanks for enduring those coasters for us! They had a very unique collection of coasters. I've never seen anything like Cannibal before.
YAY I COULDNT WAIT FOR THIS!
Well at least u went into the first coaster with a positive attitude. Lol so proud of u for doing the upside down one though! U just keep getting braver, way to go!!😂🤣👍👍 That last one "Leave your body jacob". Oh boy.
I love the moving bookcase revealing the tunnel hole!! Really cool.
The rollercoaster made me flinch on my couch!
I don’t like roller coasters, but I so enjoy seeing you ride them. And the screaming - cannot help but chuckle. Truly a little bit of fun during these crazy times. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
He went to lagoon :0 I'm so happy this is my stateeeee
i liked the hand cam, it was a good change from the fixed straight forward view.
So much nostalgia and desire to ride some of the newer coasters...its been since over 15 years since I been...
Looooooooove the cannibal so much!! It’s a must do at least twice when I go there. I’m glad you got to visit Lagoon! Thank you for the amazing ride commentary. 😂
Well done Jacob for ridding all the rollercoasters! Strangely I liked the rotating toilet - a great idea to find the WCs!
I don't know exactly why but the study/library in the Terroride is the best looking room in any dark ride I've seen.
That wrist camera was a good idea Jacob ! Thanks for fun video.
I enjoyed that video while drinking my coffee... made me smile so wide. Hoping he didn't eat before he went on any of those rides lol *applause* I applaud you for being so brave. I couldn't do those rides.
Just think of all the new patrons you'll get because of this video. Think of all the people like me who were curious about this park will know what to expect when they get there. Thanks for getting on the coasters. That Cannonball looks incredibly fun and terrifying.
Fun video! What you go through for all of us on those roller coasters. Respect from Minnesota
Can't thank you enough for going on all my favorite Lagoon rides, but especially the last one! Bravo for being so brave. I loved it. Yes!!👍❤
Love love the videos you put out! Appreciate you for getting out your comfort zone to give us an experience of the theme parks!! 😁
