OMG I was here over 50 years ago. We didn't have those new fangled push buttons but I remember going through the crooked house and ringing those effing bells on the boat ride.
Great video! I worked there while in college. Not a bad place for a first job. We had to work almost every ride, clean the grounds during down times and the train had to be stopped with our feet if it was going too fast at the end! Jobs that build character.
Wow.. it's sort of a sad old park. Probably a good thing it's being revamped. But definitely different and unique! Good little find..thanks for sharing!
Went here as a kid in the late 00s. Glad you didn't focus on how obviously creepy it is as an adult, because as a kid it didn't feel creepy at all. Glad to see all these old attractions again!
If you look up the old story town or go to the great escape that might explain some of the odd figures. They all had the same theme going. Unpredictable for sure.
Thanks Jakob, I’ve been following your channel for a while now and love the old Mom and Pop attractions that have been around for 60 + years, we’ve had our fair share here in Michigan. I just wanted to tell you I’m a hospital emergency room worker and live alone and since the pandemic started I haven’t been able to travel or even hang out with my friends. Your videos are a great way to unwind after work and have brought me a feeling of normalcy in my otherwise horrible life. Thanks again!!
The Carpetbagger sorry I misspelled your name, I have friend with the same name but with a K. I Love that you’ve bee to Marvins Marvelous Mechanical Museum.
Love your videos dude! I watch you everyday. America has so many strange and wonderful attractions. All we have in England is lots of castles and giant mansions 😄
That’s all. Lol. So much history. We have attractions like this in Canada. But America is a big continent. There’s a Story Book land here. Plus Canada’s Wonderland which is owned by Cedar Fair Entertainment that owns Knotts Berry Farm in California, I guess it’s the top producing park in their Arsenal. Even more than Knotts. Not too surprised. Because it’s one of the main major theme parks in Canada. And they do a Halloween Haunt thing like Universal Studios and Knotts Scary Farm etc
Glad you included a clip of Magician Jimmy Brown. He has been with Magic Forest for a long time. He is an excellent Magician and well known in the Northeast.
OMG you finally went!!!!!!!!! I'm going at the end of the month! Oh I'm so excited for these videos!!! I haven't been at this specific spot since I was little. So sad if they are getting rid of everything ☹ enjoy Lake George
You just missed a BUNCH of fiberglass figures that they've sold off since early this year. Multiple Muffler Men, Esso Tigers, A&W characters, Sinclair dinos, etc, many of which they originally purchased from the Danbury Fair.
This makes me think of the roadside attraction we went to as kids. It was called Storyland and its in Fresno, California. I think it still exists. You would be given a magic key that is used to unlock stories throughout the land. I'd check it out! One day I'll visit again and see for myself how much has changed.
Man this place used to be so full of kitschy goodness! Still some left thankfully but I’m sure it’ll be gone soon. Magic Forrest started my obsession with weird Americana. You missed the last diving horse a few years ago. While it was sad, it was also crazy to see. Thanks for making this vlog though!
Thank u for taking us on this adventure...I have always loved these type of attractions since childhood...sadly the one that was here in Maryland closed down years ago The Enchanted Forest which u also visited the reincarnation at Clark's Eliok Farm...this was awesome I hope it's still just as charming when i visit one day
The boats and the umbrella ride look like the ones that used to be at the old Edgewater Park in Detroit. It does not surprise me that many of those old exhibits are going away. Kids today are far more Tech savvy then most of us were at a young age. Years ago when my nieces and nephews were children, thier parents took them to Disneyworld, and none of the special effects impressed them in the least. They even kept yawning through the Haunted Mansion ride.
Every time I watch this video I always find it funny when he's looking at Snow White and a song from Sleeping Beauty is playing in the background lol. Must be a recording with many songs.
I love the music! I guess chipmunk voices make everything cuter. Looks more relaxing than exciting, too bad it won't last. Wait... HORSE DIVER?! Wonder how the horse felt about it's job, never heard of that actually happening in all of my 50 years, only in cartoons and antique footage, wow!
the spinning squirrels in the squirrel house was cool. the dad figure in the night before christmas, bared a striking resemblance to Charles Bronson, lol!
Reminds me sort of like a park that was in Irving,TX. All I remember was a chicken incubator and my mom taking me and the other kids on the street in the 72 Cutlass. This had to be about 79 or 80
Yes! This was amazing! TY CB! Many of the figures at Magic Forest came from the Danbury Fair in CT. Anyone interested in Magic Forest should definitely read about Danbury Fair!!!
Didn't know you were in Ny. Omg you plan having a meet up. That would be awesome.🥰 to bad Frontiertown isn't totally abandoned now you would have loved it.
Baggerism of the day : " See.. even great Northern attractions have Moonshine stills... " "If there's any advice I can give anyone out there, it's "Don't eat your own head" "Baggerism" copyright 2019, all rights reserved.
Hey man just wanted to say I really enjoy your videos . Thanks for putting in all the work.. as someone who spends most of my time working .. it's great to come home and enjoy your channel, and see all these cool places.
Wow awesome I go to Lake George every summer and I went there this summer and I missed you by a couple weeks and I always watch your vids maybe next time have a good summer
When you went through the crooked house, I was reminded of a roadside attraction found in Lancaster PA. It was a small house and when you entered, you paid to go into a living room which had a swinging bench in the middle. After sitting on the bench, the room would start to tumble around you. It only took a few seconds to have the sensation that it was the swing spinning in a stationary room. So there you were, clinging to the bench like a daft bird thinking you would fall off. This was over 40 years ago so I doubt it still is around, but I never forgot that unsettling experience.
YES! Carpetbagger finally in my neck of the woods! Hope you liked upstate new york! Feels more awesome now that youve been here but this place was my entire childhood
Thanks for posting this! We live nearby in VT and didn’t know about this place! We’re taking our toddler tomorrow. Hopefully we’ll go again over the years and see the updates.
We USED to have the Mother Goose Storybook Park, my parents took my brother and I to it once when I was really little but it closed up a while back now.
another fun day out = that was an alpaca not a llama and the 1st set of "dogs" were all dressed as characters from Hood -belated congrats on getting to 200K plus = so well deserved
This reminds me of a place we used to have in colon Michigan called deer Forest. It had the same pushbutton details in front of the statues And very similar looking statues. Unfortunately past owners and previous owners didn’t take care of the property or the animals and it was closed. They actually have a lot of violations against them for animal cruelty which is very sad. But I had a lot of fun as a child going there and I’m happy that my sisters got to go when they were little and I was probably 20. It’s nice to see places still like this open🥰
Really glad you went here, i used to go here tons when i was younger. Really sad to know its gonna be completely different next year. Loved this place. Wish that you were able to go to it when it had more of the fiberglass figures it used to though
I love this old style theme parks and like this. Too bad it's changing.
all of this is gone it’s a dinosaur park now i miss the old magic forest
@@karireuter8632😢😢
Some of those are TERRIFYING !!
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 I know right💯
all part of the charm!
OMG I was here over 50 years ago. We didn't have those new fangled push buttons but I remember going through the crooked house and ringing those effing bells on the boat ride.
fangled???? there just buttons there not a complete new technology we have never heard of hahahaha
Kinda getting the impression the owners often buy job lots of fibreglass models from closed down theme parks and other attractions haha
Nik Nak they have had the same figures since the 70’s with very little fixing. I worked there. It was awful!
These are hand made.. not mass production..
Adds to the disturbing look..
@@itsmiahtime These places give me weird feelings, like a lost dream.
babalon 777 it’s what I would assume a bad acid trip is like 😂😂
Don't forget to visit the House of Frankenstein wax museum in the village!
Jacob is the most humbled, kindness a good sport and just a real wonderful guy....dude Mr.Carpetbagger keep up all 0f the Great work, lvn it All!!!!
I absolutely loves this! The narrator isn't so bad either!
I love places like this. They are all but gone now, sadly!
Except for enchanted forest in Turner Oregon. You should check it out. It’s really cool 😎
There is also a chapel at Storyland and Santas Village in NH
I know! He's getting it all wrong!!
Good thing... I thought all of the old Magic Forest stuff was completely gone. Good to see it's still there!
I grew up going to Magic Forest every year it was my favorite place. Used to love seeing the diving horse!! Loved this video!
So glad to see you up in my neck of the woods! Curious to see if you checked out the Dino park next door!
Every heard of uncle zips farm. Famous for apple picking
Interviewed to work there, wound up taking the summer off and now I missed Carpetbagger!!!
I’m from Lake George. That place has been there for ever.
Hey one of my family members in New York live in lake George
Great video! I worked there while in college. Not a bad place for a first job. We had to work almost every ride, clean the grounds during down times and the train had to be stopped with our feet if it was going too fast at the end! Jobs that build character.
I love the animaytronics. I like this place. Lots of old fashion amusements.
Well, Thanks for preserving this attraction forever on video. The French fry and hot dog figures are my favorites. Thanks again....
Wow.. it's sort of a sad old park. Probably a good thing it's being revamped. But definitely different and unique! Good little find..thanks for sharing!
You can also go to church at Silver Dollar City.
I grew up in Saratoga springs. Finally you went somewhere I know lol!
Went here as a kid in the late 00s. Glad you didn't focus on how obviously creepy it is as an adult, because as a kid it didn't feel creepy at all. Glad to see all these old attractions again!
That snow white display was pretty nice
If you look up the old story town or go to the great escape that might explain some of the odd figures. They all had the same theme going. Unpredictable for sure.
You can go to church at silver dollar city I believe too!!
just camp rock blasting in the background when he's taking to Smokey the Bear got me

Jacob you continue to inspire me. We love your videos and the content. Keep doing what you do!
You were in my area!!! I brought my kids to Magic Forest when they were little. Such a great old fashioned attraction.
Yay! Lake george ny! Upstate ny!
Thank You for this!
This was an adorable little old school place. Loved it!
Love your videos dude! I watch you everyday. America has so many strange and wonderful attractions. All we have in England is lots of castles and giant mansions 😄

this place is so chaotic and unsettling but i really love it
I swear I have super vauge memories of this place from when I was in kindergarten. It looked a lot different back then
Glad you included a clip of Magician Jimmy Brown. He has been with Magic Forest for a long time. He is an excellent Magician and well known in the Northeast.
Storyland and Santas Village in NH both have chapels!!!
Sure this left kids with
a lot of great memories.
Q Tē 12:25 who lives in a pineapple under the sea
Q Tē aw come on you know this one
What a lovely quirky old fashioned Park 😊 Let's hope it's not changed too much, currently its being how it is, seriously adds to its appeal for me 😊
The diving horse was really something to see
OMG you finally went!!!!!!!!!
I'm going at the end of the month! Oh I'm so excited for these videos!!! I haven't been at this specific spot since I was little. So sad if they are getting rid of everything ☹ enjoy Lake George
You can go to church at Silver Dollar City, too, Jacob! In their old chapel on the Main Street!
I live about 30 miles south of here. I used to see the billboard for the diving horse, but never got to see it. Glad you got to document Magic Forest!
Your method of drinking from a fountain cracks me up! You approach the stream straight on instead of from the side! 😅
You just missed a BUNCH of fiberglass figures that they've sold off since early this year. Multiple Muffler Men, Esso Tigers, A&W characters, Sinclair dinos, etc, many of which they originally purchased from the Danbury Fair.

Neat place, hope they keep the old timey rides.
Talk about the Island of Misfit No Good Dirty Toys 😂
They hardly did upkeep.
You could have some serious fun here on various “illegal” substances.

*I would go there all the time as a kid when I went to new york. Magic forest is nightmare fuel..*

I loved places like this when I was little. Now everything has to be so technical. Simplicity is the best. I miss times like this.
Love how they play a song from Disney's "Sleeping Beauty" over dioramas of Disney's "Snow White"!
I love all your videos)))) never boring
The fiberglass animals/people are terrifying. Random Nickelodeon room? What an interesting place.
Thanks for another great video! That felt like going back in time. I love your enthusiasm for these attractions. It makes me happy. 😌
I think the enthusiasm makes the videos more enjoyable as well ☺️
Every time I watch this video I always find it funny when he's looking at Snow White and a song from Sleeping Beauty is playing in the background lol. Must be a recording with many songs.
Wow! Up in my neck of the woods! I'm glad to see you came to this place!
WOW, Sir CB! THANKS
I love the music! I guess chipmunk voices make everything cuter. Looks more relaxing than exciting, too bad it won't last.

Wow, that place had some blatant intellectual property theft, lol.I also laughed at "I like to blow things up!"
I am gonna miss this place
Snow White looks pretty scary.......
I go to lake George every summer same week! I love going here still and I’m a teenager 🤣
Creepy af stuff lpl.
I miss those old school attractions.

It reminds me of the place l used to go to as a kid, King's Castle Land. Definitely old school. Probably a little too much to appeal to kids today.
Some of the exhibits are legit creepy
I love the throwback style of this theme park classic.
Hey man just wanted to say I really enjoy your videos . Thanks for putting in all the work.. as someone who spends most of my time working .. it's great to come home and enjoy your channel, and see all these cool places.
One of my favorite childhood places! Hope they don't change it too much!!
I spent my childhood there!!!!! Thank you for doing a video there!!!
Wow awesome I go to Lake George every summer and I went there this summer and I missed you by a couple weeks and I always watch your vids maybe next time have a good summer
My hometown!
Oh gosh that llama cage looked bleak :(
Amazing that everything actually worked. I'm impressed.
The best Christmas movie by far: Paranormal Activity

All the nickelodeon stuff was so random!!! XD
Dutch Wonderland in Lancaster Pennsylvania also has a chapel in the park..(its one of the only places in the entire park that has air conditioning!)
