    Thank for the demo on how to use yucca roots for soap, here in the North East we have birch leaves which contain saponins just mash them up a bit and put 'em in a canteen cup or ziploc bag with some water added, and as you stir it up or mash it in there, it'll suds up too like your yucca root.

    Great stuff Tyler. That yucca is a very cool plant and Kirsten is totally on the ball judging by the videos you have shown with her in them. That crazy giggle she had however just makes her even more awesome.Nate

    Just ordered mine .. I am from that same area lower South areas of Wyo / Utah .. Have been working on skills in the Pacific NW and find it a serious challenge compared to the Midwest due to the rain forest type environment .. My current learning skill set is dealing w/ the urban / wilderness type of environment of the big city ( Portland ) and dense forested volcanic areas ( Mt Hood ) surrounding them .. Looking forward to watching her work and getting back to my roots ..

      Doberman144 ya each place takes a different skill set. I just got back from the Colombian jungle. It's a resource rich place assuming that you can recognize and use what you see. But it always comes down to those skills appropriate to the location.

    We have tons of Yucca plants out here in my area. I'm quite certain that you could also use the points as the ends of a single-use arrow for small game like rabbits.

    • @TJackSurvival
      @TJackSurvival  8 років тому

      Ya possibly. But for rabbits if you hit it hard enough a blunt end will do the job too.

    Very cool stuff. I've got high respect for the BOSS crew and anyone associated with them. I've wanted to attend a 28 day field course for nearly a decade but the bonds to "real" life are pretty strong, ya know? - I'll definitely pick up a copy of the DVD. I have been training in my area for a long time but my knowledge of desert survival is definitely lacking.

      I do as well. They are living the life IMHO. If you ever get a chance to come out let me know. I really want to do the 28 day course as well, but ya time off doesn't want me to. So instead I do my channel as time allows. Here's the link to her DVD.

      ***** Thanks for digging in. I try hard, but I've only been actively running this channel for about a year. I did years of videos with BladeHQ, and then decided to grow my own channel. I've recently invested a massive amount of time and money into gear and education in filming to compliment my field experience. I'm hoping that it will pay off in more scenic shots, with better audio, and more crisp scenes. Anyway thanks for watching, subscribing, and sharing.

    why didn't you just take a small piece put it in a plastic bottle container with a cap and shake it till you got the soap sudds you needed?

    • @TJackSurvival
      @TJackSurvival  6 років тому +1

      You have to have a plastic bottle to do that. Using tech defeats the purpose of primitive skills. It's better to teach how to do without, then if you have a bottle you can change your technique, and if you don't then you know how to do without.

    have you ever thought of? just going to the nearest store and buying a bar of really nice quality but really cheap soap!!?
    many different types of stores do most defenitely carry it?
    how long much time would it take you or us? to wash in the mornings if you had to do this routine every morning?
    & you were being chased by a band of apaches or piutes who were quite disgruntled at you stealing their favorite best yucca plants at the same moments in time! for your loreal shampoo ad moment! hairflick to the camera why? loreal? why yucca? like the famous tv ad says
    cuz youre worth it!!
    but the indians still aint looking too convinced by it!?

    • @TJackSurvival
      @TJackSurvival  8 років тому

      Why buy what grows for free?

    • @6brettes
      @6brettes 8 років тому +1

      maybe just for its ease of uses & total convenience!?? soapwort is easier to use for free!! grab a few stalks with yer bare hands rub it in palms then add a lil water theyre you go have instant suds!! to wash with
      but it probably dont grow in semi deserts tho!!! you could always
      ask to borrow a shampoo off an passing friendly apache
      hes probably using loreal products from a big stashed bargain box of head n shoulders!!
      its only useful these factoids if you really really need it!! & the reality is most of us dont!!
      water alone is very cleansing i go up to swim circuits in a lake most eves or days that is as clear natural spring water n that exp leaves me clean as a whistle!! with absolutely no needs for any soaps!? perhaps
      maybe i need to upgrade my personal hygeine standards!!
      try digging up a commercial yucca plant in someones ornamental cactus garden!!!
      get banged up by the gendarmes for it rather than just go to the local gen store!!
      to buy my soaps!!!?
      try out the french hard or liquid soft all natural marseille!! range of soaps lavender olive almond etc
      is a great allrounders one of best in the world!! costs less than 1euro!!
      lasts ages smells great suds up in any type of water!! tea tree soap is also good & has all natural antisceptics! as do mosses!
      :)
      but not very likely in a desert tho!!
      my luck id get an piute long arrow thud in middle of my back whilst im engaged in pulling up my first ever yucca plant
      find out a lil bit too late its the piute chiefs favorite cultivated patch of shampoo loreal yucca!!
      cuz he reckons hes is just as chief so worth it!!
      hairflick then beaming a white smile to the gopro camera!!
      as i lay dying trying to pull an long arrow outa my back in his favorite shampoo patch!!

    • @6brettes
      @6brettes 8 років тому +1

      this is like beauty care handy tips for the flintstones!! in 400bc!! im awaiting for the pet brontosaurus to start combing miss reschnitzs hair in the next vid!! after its been fully conditioned processed by obedient neanderthals beating yucca constantly with giant clubs until its in a powder formats!!?
      awaiting for it to dry out sat in a cave blowing on it to dry out!! urgently on a sat night cuz they all want to get clean then go out to the local disco & club then drag chicks back to their caves! all very very inconvenient during a rather lengthy rainstorm!
