- The music when you find a Pokémon in the wild in Kanto. Very awesome remix here, and the first time I heard this music, it was totally unexpected.
BTW, HeartGold and SoulSilver come out in America today! I'm definitely going to get one of them. I might even get it today! - Ігри
What amazes me is that despite working with the exact same sound hardware, they've somehow managed to make their remix sound decidedly retro when compared to the original song.
And that's where you're wrong, the Gameboy Color was far superior than just a color screen, the hardware was quite more advanced and it had about double the powrr the original Gameboy had, hence why most Gameboy Color library wasn't playable on Gameboy, but all of Gameboy's was playable in the Color through backwards compatibility, in fact, the Gameboy Color even surpassed the NES, a home console

When I first heard this theme, I thought it was music fit for a legendary battle.
It is the legendary battle theme, but it''s in the Let's Go games.
Well it can sort of be a legendary theme in HG/SS since Latios and Latias lack a theme, and get this song instead.

It is implied that Team Rocket closed off the frontiers to Jotho, making progress impossible... Maybe it became an allegory for japanese not being able to export that was a real thing actually, since y'know... They didn't thought of making a pokemon sequel.. it is proved with Raichu Pokedex entry and maybe the war that Surge told us, I guess that are other things but I don't really know
Ironically, the most of the gen 2 Pokémon are in kanto.
@@noskills5874 which is stupid beyond belief. I actually was disappointed that the remakes had not this changed and at least make the gen 1 baby pokemon available at Kanto at least, also, I think gen 2 is the only region that does not have fossils

Ken Sugimori is a legend. That's pretty much a fact. But Junichi Masuda is underrated in the Pokemon franchise. The way he made fresh music for each new Pokemon game with totally different technology each time is pretty impressive.
Pokemon GSC was all pretty much Go Ichinose, that's why I feel like it had a distinct style from the original games

@mysterykcad It's actually 4-bit music, the gameboy soundcard was not capable of 8-bit sound quality, that was the NES's department.

Slugma makes sense. Kanto is the only place in the game that has an active volcano, but it doesn't even appear in Cinnabar Island where it should.

Murkrow and Misdreavus could have easily made their home in Ilex Forest or near Ecruteak City. Same for Houndour. Larvitar could have made its home in Mt.Mortar.

I remember going to kanto for the first ime in the gold cartridge. I didnt recognized the song until 0:13 (while playing the game)
Probably the one theme I've been able to remember ever since I first heard it without needing to listen to it again. I fucking love this song!

Man you are so right on that comment I acually ended up taking a trip down nostalgia lane.
Regardless if its from smb2 intro being the water level from smb1 till having mother 3 music remixes in pokemon gen 5 there is one thing that Nintendo has mastered that no other company will ever be able to do; and that is the abality to recycle their own materials and reuse them in a way which is still fresh and epic to the players. (Keep in mind that the mother team did end up becomming game freak!) :P

Silver the Rival Yeah! I beat Lance (Furret + elemental punches = OP) then went into Kanto. I found a wild Pokémon, then was instantly hooked just from the intro.

Pokemon Yellow basically was a huge improvement to the original.
I'm pretty sure Firered/Leaf take over Yellow.(Without following pokemon)
And Heartgold takes over Crystal.

@Besamelento Well technicly speaking it wasnt. In japan the first games were green and red, with blue being the special edition (it had better grafics), where-as in america we got red and blue with pikachu yellow becoming the special version. Our blue was the exact same game as japans green, accept both red and blue had the grafical upgrade of japanese blue. Did that clear it up? :P

Ohhh...I didn't really like it when I got to Kanto in Gold, mainly because of the music, everything made me feel like I was upside down, because it wasn't the original stuff, which I was thoroughly used to!

Hm? No, they only remade Red and Blue/Green, but they left out Pokemon Yellow. So they're leaving out the 'special' third game in the 2nd generation, Crystal as well, if they're staying consistent.
