Chris is literally the ONLY reason that I continued watching Top Gear. I really hope he gets picked up for a show of his own by a major outlet. He is really the only one left from a generation of journalists who were true car enthusiasts, whereas the current "journalists" pander to solely getting youtube likes.
Road trips and car tests, doesn't need to be anything mad going on, just beautiful cars in beautiful scenery exploring the UK, Europe, and maybe further afield. With his mates. Jethro Bovingdon did something similar bit it didn't quite take off I don't think but then he loves to call everything creamy :P Would love to see CH and the lads from the podcast go do a trip around Scotland with 60% of the show driving and scenery and 40% of the show them in the pub afterwards chatting bubbles about cars.
I always knew that Chris Harris would end up fronting Top Gear and that he would be wasted on it and he was. I'm not saying he didn't do a good job he did, but he is so much better as a straight motoring journalist and car enthusiast. I miss his Chris Harris on cars UA-cam channel.

A dream of a guest. Eloquent, knowledgeable, huge experience and a willingness to share it all. Well done to the presenters for letting him run with the conversation.
Give this man his own car show please ! Instead of the stupid show we ended up with , us petrolheads just want car related things, we love monkeyharris , simples ❤
Then the best place for him is away from the BBC - the YT car community provides every type of car content you could ever want from classics to new cars, petrol to EVs, serious journalists to mucking about………wouldn’t watch a car show on the BBC now, even if Clarkson and co presented it.
The issue is his type of reviews cost quite a lot to make. When he was putting them on UA-cam they didn’t really make any money. He did a really good podcast episode on it with the guy he started it with.
Love this guy. He could easily carry Top Gear by himself. Any Top Gear UA-cam video that drops with Chris is always an immediate watch. He's one of those rare people with a genuine passion and knowledge for his subject which immediately makes him easy to watch and listen to. Combined with his intelligence and humour results in a win. I dare say his humour probably offends certain generations now but I almost spat my coffee out when he so nonchalantly called himself the "Strange brown kid" and talking about taking the piss out of Freddie's teeth. I imagine the car chat and banter you would have with this guy would be top draw. More Chris Harris please BBC.

I got to work with him a little back in the day. He's exactly as he comes across here - fast-talking, fast-thinking, rather earnest, very likeable, extremely knowledgeable. No ego on him, not in any problematic way anyway, lots of energy. I was interested that he describes himself as grumpy. I don't think that's quite right, rather that he's actually rather earnest/serious by natural disposition, but it doesn't take much to get him laughing. Sad that Top Gear has ended. I’ve always followed Chris Harris since reading his columns in EVO magazine. The banter on Top Gear was amazing. It was genuine and huge fun.

One of my favorite videos on UA-cam is Chris reviewing his old 2CV. The passion and enthusiasm he had for a hunk of junk old French vehicle is wonderful
Flintoff's crash took place on December 13, 2022 at Dunsfold Park aerodrome in Surrey, which has been the Top Gear test track since 2002. He was driving an open-topped, three-wheel Morgan Super 3 at 130 mph when it flipped and slid along the track during filming
Thx for this as I was completely in the dark regarding the accident. Didn’t even know it had happened. Still confused why Chris is reluctant to discuss it tho?
Chris is great - I’ve been a fan of his work since he was at autocar, having also read his stuff at what car. Chris Harris IS legend ..again THE BBC wasted his talents and stuck him with those other 2 gits .. i hope he finds something akin to his real talents soon !!!
Always enjoyed watching Chris in the early days on You Tube. Still do enjoy watching him. His enthusiasm and knowledge shines through. Total respect for him.
I really like Chris Harris, such a genuine bloke. Really passionate about cars, he knows what he’s talking about and also good at throwing cars around. But even when taking cars out of the equation, in general he just seems a good relatable guy.
I watched top gear more than 10 years I liked old crew form new one Chris was only guy who is instresting and who have real passion for cars . I m very sad this tv show is ended
It all depends on what genre of motoring show the public wants. The Clarkson, May, Hammond & Wilman era Top Gear became more of an entertainment show, a ratings chaser that people who had no interest in cars could enjoy alongside those of us who are interested in all things automotive, and wildly successful it was too. On the other hand, a magazine style format (as per the original Top Gear from the 70s) wouldn’t be commissioned by the BBC today as it would be deemed too narrow band in appeal, not forgetting the sheer number of channel options, streaming services and non-linear viewing habits of the available audience today. For what it’s worth, Chris Harris is a motoring journalism titan and it is a shame that the public in general only really knows him for the knockabout banter of TG. If the BBC is brave enough…it isn’t…it should commission a proper consumer-focused, journalism-based magazine with Chris fronting and Harry Metcalfe, Rory Reid, Henry Catchpole, Jethro Bovingdon as contributors. Yes, we can still have tyre smoking supercars hooning around test tracks, but let’s have some editorial about the wider industry and real world motoring issues as well. I dunno, canning the odd property, culinary or lifestyle show might create schedule space….🤔 It won’t happen, more’s the pity.
Chris has the perfect foils for any such show in his Collecting Addicts podcasts. They talk about the most inane topics yet it feels like a bunch of mates at a pub, chatting over a beer, making one another laugh and hanging shit on one or other of them. Would lose something on free to air because the swearing is an essential element of the banter.
Oi Fair play you are right they should give him opportunity Especially if sexual deviant news readers get paid 2million of license payers money Just to lie to us I’d much rather they spent it on watchable programmes with relatable people as you suggested 🐜✌️💯
I love Chris Harris, he’s a great bloke and an amazing driver. His passion and knowledge of cars is also amazing. I do hope we see him back in a car show again in the future.
I do love chris harris. His love for what he does (cars) shines through. He was the saving grace of new top gear and all the best bits of the old crew combined.
He really comes across so well. I think the majority of us would watch a car show hosted by Chris, I'd maybe go as far as to say he is the modern day Jeremy. Very excited to see what he does next, he's an extremely well educated motorist who's opinions I have enjoyed a lot
Top gear ended years ago. They tried even in the USA... But the good was already done. Chris should have his own show, if he wants to, the only journalist Ive seen describing the way he feels the car is a really acurate way!
I've always known Chris Harris is a good bloke, listened to, read him and watched him for years. A down to earth guy, and true car enthusiast and journalist. He should have his own BBC motoring show. "Chris Harris in Gear" (you can have that one BBC, no charge!) I would watch every episode along with millions of others. Fantastic car control with lots of experience and knowledge. Go on Beeb develop a show just for CH, I dare you!!
I truly hope we get to see Mr Harris with his own car show. Hes an incredibly humble yet talented man at what he does, and what a helmsman. Id love to have a fraction of his talent behind the wheel.
Absolute Legend Chris, I could listen to you for hours! I also find you to be one of the most relatable I would love to see a new high budget TV show with you as a main presenter, And also can't help thinking that you could do some great content with Hammond ! (I also love all the nerdy details of cars and love bmws and alpinas from the 80s and 90s)
Chris Harris is such a humble and a man of real integrity, and that is a rare thing nowadays. When it comes to celebrities with them kind of qualities, we will never find that in the new breed of self indulgent ( celebrity in their own mind).
Chris Harris is the best kind of person. He’s competitive but humble, he’s intelligent but acts dumb, he has a tone of not caring about anything or anyone but he actually cares about so many things and people, he’s accomplished so much but doesn’t forget when he was accomplishing so little, he acts so serious but he’s actually low-key funny… As much as I agree with others in the comments that he needs his own show, I think what he’s doing with his business will be enough, especially considering the content he makes for it, because “TV shows” are just dying. UA-cam will always give us a better version of whatever he is to do.
what car magazine was amazing, first thing i bought when i came back to the UK as a kid, it had the JD Power survey for the year, threw out every other magazine apart from that one. could get lost for hours in car magazines, especially cos there was no video or sound, you could imagine everything in your head. Chris Harris is one of the best car journalists in the world, him and jason comisa from hagerty would great the internet if they made a show together.
I said yrs ago that Chis Harris, Jason Plato and Jensen Button would have been the perfect team to replace CH&M. Also i might be in the minority but I preferred Harris, Le Blanc and Reid over Harris freddie and the not funny comedian
Absolutely the best lad at car shows.. whether he’s on UA-cam on his own or with mates on top gear.. his passion for cars comes across as soon as he starts to speak and in any walk of life, whatever the topic, that’s infectious. Hopefully he’s back on tv soon..
When I was in middle school, our library had car magazines. Car and Driver and Road & Track. With lawn mowing money I subscribed to every car mag I could find. Until a recent move, I had 20 years of Automobile, C and D, Motor Trend and R & T. Plus many years of others. I actually found the 1993 RX7 I bought in the late 90's in Auto Week classifieds. With constant auto news today, I miss the excitement of that time of the month when those magazines arrived. Reading them cover to cover right away. I also miss those journalists. Patrick Bedard, Brock Yates, and such. Wonderful memories of a great childhood and extended adolescence.

McGuinness was absolutely insufferable. Ego driven, shouty, exaggerated regional accent, always had to be the loudest. The only reason he got anywhere was called Peter Kay.

Chris Harris IS legend ..again THE BBC wasted his talents and stuck him with those other 2 gits .. i hope he finds something akin to his real talents soon !!!
I spent months and years studying the back pages of car mags and obsessively reading specs and model variants. I love seeing my type on screen 😊
Always enjoyed watching Chris in the early days on You Tube. Still do enjoy watching him. His enthusiasm and knowledge shines through. Total respect for him.
Same, great guy and very humble really.
Chris is an absolute legend. Proper car enthusiast. Glad he's doing well
Genius! Love Chris since the first days of UA-cam. He was and still is amazing and deserves all the success he has.
I really like Chris Harris, such a genuine bloke.
Really passionate about cars, he knows what he’s talking about and also good at throwing cars around. But even when taking cars out of the equation, in general he just seems a good relatable guy.
Best car journalist ever… Love Chris, genuine guy👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I dunno, canning the odd property, culinary or lifestyle show might create schedule space….🤔
It won’t happen, more’s the pity.
Oi
Fair play you are right they should give him opportunity
Especially if sexual deviant news readers get paid 2million of license payers money
Just to lie to us
I’d much rather they spent it on watchable programmes with relatable people as you suggested
🐜✌️💯
That would be epic
I'm just glad we don't ever have to hear from the bloke from Bolton
Chris Harris was the best of the new line up , at least he could drive
Top gear ended years ago. They tried even in the USA... But the good was already done. Chris should have his own show, if he wants to, the only journalist Ive seen describing the way he feels the car is a really acurate way!
I’ve followed Chris Harris for many years now. He is arguably the best motoring journalist the UK had ever been blessed with!
I would say the world!
Top bloke is Chris. Down to earth enthusiast with a great passion for all things car related 😊
I truly hope we get to see Mr Harris with his own car show. Hes an incredibly humble yet talented man at what he does, and what a helmsman. Id love to have a fraction of his talent behind the wheel.
Chris Harris we the people love you ❤
Top gear was never the same after jc left
No, one doesn't bounce when you get older. I'm 63 and just "SPLAT" now, and it hurts. Chris is brilliant, my favorite presenter on cars.
Absolute Legend Chris, I could listen to you for hours! I also find you to be one of the most relatable
I would love to see a new high budget TV show with you as a main presenter,
And also can't help thinking that you could do some great content with Hammond !
What a lovely interview with a top bloke!
One of my favorite car guys. Superb driver, no big ego, knew his stuff. Seems like a guy I could have a beer with.
Topgear ended in 2015.
Thank goodness its canned at last, the absolute disaster of recent presenters made a mockery of its history.
The way the lady opened Chris up is impressive, she handled him perfectly
TopGear was finished after Jeremy and Co left, much like the bbc...
Need Chris back asap, wont miss the other to be honest
Been watching Chris on youtube for years. Always knew he would end up on the telly.
what car magazine was amazing, first thing i bought when i came back to the UK as a kid, it had the JD Power survey for the year, threw out every other magazine apart from that one. could get lost for hours in car magazines, especially cos there was no video or sound, you could imagine everything in your head. Chris Harris is one of the best car journalists in the world, him and jason comisa from hagerty would great the internet if they made a show together.
Please BBC give that man whatever he wants to make whatever kind of car show that suits him and millions will watch. If you book him, they will come
Chris is a motoring legend and a hell of a driver love the way he describes the geeky stuff 😂
Harris is the only reason I watch Top Gear now.
Without him. That show is nothing.
I said yrs ago that Chis Harris, Jason Plato and Jensen Button would have been the perfect team to replace CH&M. Also i might be in the minority but I preferred Harris, Le Blanc and Reid over Harris freddie and the not funny comedian
Could not abide McGuinness and Flintoff, they never belonged on a car show.
Harris was sound, just needed 2 more car guys
They made the show their own. I didn't find myself comparing them.
It ceased to be Top Gear when Clarkson left. Dreadful series after that.
Always great to hear what Chris Harris has to say. He doesn't try to be entertaining but as a result he's good to see on TV.
Just give top gear to Chris and let him do what he wants to do .
Absolutely the best lad at car shows.. whether he’s on UA-cam on his own or with mates on top gear.. his passion for cars comes across as soon as he starts to speak and in any walk of life, whatever the topic, that’s infectious. Hopefully he’s back on tv soon..
The biggest shame will be if we don't see Chris Harris on some kind of new motoring show on TV.
Since Freddie Flintoff joined he seemed reckless and I couldn’t help think he was going to injure someone else.
The BBC wanted him to be reckless ' coz Freddeh luv's a good laf, innit?
I still remember mk1 beardy Harris in a beany hat drifting a Beemer on driver's republic. I learned to drive reading and watching Chris's content. He's one of my all-time heroes. I love this man so much!
I think Chris could do their job better than them. He’s a superb speaker and presenter.
He is the one man I do like in the later Top Gear series as he is a proper petrolhead car nerd
McGuinness was absolutely insufferable. Ego driven, shouty, exaggerated regional accent, always had to be the loudest. The only reason he got anywhere was called Peter Kay.
It was shite after they cancelled Jeremy, hamster and captain slow anyway. Didn't even know there'd been an accident...
