Sure is a pretty radiator. Honestly I don't expect reproduction parts to fit like OEM but hey you made it work. 👍
Thanks! 👍
Good call on the not painting man too pretty to cover up. I'm with you hoping the hood clears! Thx!!!
That's what I said!
I think that this is a problem that is kind of all through a frame of build. It was with my 96 chevy pickup. but just like you did you adapt and keep going. Great piece of the puzzle.
You're probably right!
Hey Bill, very nice looking radiator for sure, hope it all works out well for you. I like the oem looking tanks on it too. I wonder how they would hold up on a high perf application and adapting an electric fan to it. I see on their website that they do offer a black finished version as well. Thanks again for the video Bill!
clear coat
Mint
👍
It's a threaded rivet they come in many different thread sizes i have used them they work really well
Check the mounting brackets from side to side on the car.
I didn't check that, but the previous radiator was direct fit without mods, so I figured the cradle was good.
Bill, I've never seen a after Market radiator that would just bolt on...
My concern is that it won't clear the hood framing that goes over the top of the bulkhead and forward to the hood latch.

I used a champion brand aluminum radiator on my 57 and had to fabricate a notch in the top bar of my radiator support in order to get it low enough to clear the hood.i don't understand why the manufacturer cannot raise the top hose connection higher on the tank either.
I considered having it rewelded instead of fighting back and forth with the manufacturer.
Looks to me like a v8 radiator ... maybe tried to make it fit both ... the six ones were higher because it had to to allow the hose inlet ... you can drill the rivets out and turn the bracket around then the eight one would fit ... but then the drain hole wouldn't be in the right spot ... be sure to check where you knicked the tubes ... looked like it hit a tube from here ... clock's tickin ...
I wonder if they actually make a 6-cylinder radiator, and now I wonder if my original was just a stock 6-cylinder replacement...

Outstanding!
My Cold Case radiator was not a direct bolt in like advertised. I had to dill new holes also.
I'm still worried about clearing the hood, particularly all the support structure at the nose.
@@RestoringChristine1956 just don’t slam it shut the first time.
Are these cold case radiators any better fitting in the V8 position? I moved my 55 motor forward 3/4" forward to clear an factory hei distubor. My engine runs hot at stop light and getting hot doing parades.
@@roberteast4160 I think running hot at stop light or parades is more of an air flow problem.
@@brianwil89 I run a flat side fan, also have an big electric fan out in front of the radiator. Running with an A/C on my car. Running biggest factory radiator,4 core.
You dinged it.
I did. I sure did. I didn't get mad because it's on the inside face behind the fan shroud.
Too bad about the rad fit but as soon as you said made in China I rolled my eyes. Is there nothing made in North America these days? Anyways glad you got it installed. Sure hope your hood clears. Thanks Bill!
My fingers are still crossed!
Could have used rivnuts
For what? I just looked them up - it's a new one on me.
Rivnuts are fkn garbage
Probably equal to a 4 row
It's a mule!
I'm so glad you will not be painting that gorgeous radiator.
How could I? LOL!
Can you call the company and ask why the holes are wrong?? Maybe they can ship you a new one??!! I know that one was not cheap! ;) Guess I better finish the video. ;)
Everything I've read online says that they are a good company that stands behind their products. Let's see what happens when I put the hood on.
I just got a heater core from classic industries for my 57 Belair.... guess what ?? the outlets are too wide for the cover... so I called them and asked--- how do you sell all this crap that don't fit????.... we need USA MANUFACTURING BACK
