Something that helps when knitting a gauge swatch (or tension square, as you said) is to either do 1x1 rib (knit, purl, repeat) or garter stitch (knitting on every row, even the wrong side) for a few rows before and after doing the stockinette, or other required, stitch. You can also do it on the sides by knitting the first and last 2-4 stitches on both the wrong and right side, so even if you're supposed to purl that row. That just makes it a little easier to see your stitch and row count, and helps the swatch lay flat and not curl. It's also a technique used for sweaters (usually ribbing the hems) to prevent it to roll upwards during usage :)
Love the tutorial! As someone who loves knitting and Buffy this really spoke to my heart lmao. Did want to mention tho for anyone who wanted to make this a quick note. For the last row of the key hole when you are connecting the two sides, she didn’t mention it but you will want to add more increases in order to get back to the original number of stitches. This counts as adding back the original cast off. So if you cast off two, add two more. Same with three. Again, love this top and am almost done making it, thank you for the awesome tutorial!! 💞💞
heyyyy this was the cutest tutorial everrrr. i had sm fun knitting this. i had a lil prblm with my measurements and accidentally made the shoulder straps a little thin lol and this makes it so that the top keeps slipping off my shoulders. any suggestions on how i could fix that???
your explanations are great and really informative for those who need basic understanding about how to go about making their own design. thank youuuu! ♡
I just frogged a different project I was not happy with after 2 attempts 😞 but I am going to try and use that yarn for this top! I don't think I have enough for the sleeves, so maybe it'll end up as a super cute tank!! I have high hopes and thank you for the wonderful walk through, hope you come back with more stuff :))
i know you havent posted in a while but i loooooved watching this, im knitting my first sweater ever (following a pattern) but obviously im already obsessed looking for more inspo and slowly understanding knitting more and more, and this video rlly helped me understand the freehand process and makes me less scared to try it for myself :) def gonna be making this in the future, the charm/keyhole is The Cutest Thing Ever
Ahhh i can’t wait to see it pls tag me when ur done!!! I need to develop a better method for that top so it’s still in the workshop tutorial-wise but on the list 🫶🏻
I am just guessing but i would just continue working in the rounds until you reach the point when you start the armholes and then devide the whole thing into two sections the back which i would just work up straight going back and forth and the front like she did in the video One thing to keep in mind then is to leave space for your head when attaching the front and back at the top I hope this makes sense
Soo cute! I just didn't understand what kind of increase you did for the flare sleeves. I really like flare sleeves but I don't understand how to do it
amazing top! It's a must make for this fall 🤩 Quick question, do you think this top would work well in cotton yarn? Thank you for such a bad-ass pattern 💗
Thank you very much for that tutorial, I can wait to try it !! I have question tho... Why knitting the sleeves as a seperate piece and not picking up stitches on the armholes ? Would it have been to tight ?
You could pick up stitches in the arm hold if you prefer! This method is more common when making sleeves in knitting, by attaching the sleeves after. It’s not tight at all, just remember to pull on the seams like I did at the end before tying off so that the shoulder doesn’t bunch up. I’ll include a link to sewing on a sleeve in the description as well
hii I have a question idk if you could help me 😿 this is my first knit project and I was thinking of making it without the back opening, in that case should I just keep going in the round til the arm holes? and like making the same length of the front at the back? hopefully you can help me I love this top 🫶🏻🫶🏻

the google doc link is broken :( this top is so beautiful tho! i hope one day i can free hand knit like you :) i’ve been crocheting mainly for many years and can free hand, but i’m getting into knitting :)
This is so cute! I just started knitting and it’s SO hard to find cute knitting tutorials, everything is crochet. Would love to see more!
Will def be making more knitting tutorials! I already have the next video in mind 👀
i knoooowwwww, and this is coming from a crocheter. the crochet stuff is cute, but knit fabric is just sm better 😭
Personally it's the opposite I started crocheting but I find that so many things I want to do are knitted
Thank you for not leaving our the people that do not have a Sentro knitting machine and walking us thru your pattern. Many thanks❤
This! I am struggling to find a tut for a shirt without a knitting machine

Thank you for mentioning this I thought I was being daft rewatching that bit trying to see where to add in the stitches I dropped there!! ❤️❤️

love this top! what could i do if i wanted to make it without a low back?
I am just guessing but i would just continue working in the rounds until you reach the point when you start the armholes and then devide the whole thing into two sections the back which i would just work up straight going back and forth and the front like she did in the video

Oh ma gah finally!! It looks so lovely, so do you
Thank uuu 💗💗
@@cutiekittystudio
wow !! 🤩
Love this so so much! haven't knit in forever though, do you think you could make something similar for crocheting?
do you by chance remember which shade of tosh the primary lavender color is? so gorgeous!! x
Soo cute! I just didn't understand what kind of increase you did for the flare sleeves. I really like flare sleeves but I don't understand how to do it
The join u used is very common not weired at all, it's called the invisible join.
Course there're other ways to also do so 💓
Can do it with cotton yarn? I live in a tropical country and is the easier and cheaper to find
I’m a newbie so this might be a stupid question but can this be done with regular straight needles? because I don’t have circular needles😢
Hii, can you pls make a tutorial on how to knit a messenger crossbody bag?
Love this tutorial ! Can i make it without the hole ?
Of course, just knit across
amazing top! It's a must make for this fall 🤩 Quick question, do you think this top would work well in cotton yarn?
Thank you for such a bad-ass pattern 💗
Thank you!! Yes any type of fingering weight yarn should work, it doesn’t have to be wool 😊❤️
can someone tell me why cant we do stockinette by knitting in the back loop like she did in the beggining of the project?
How do you do your increase stitches without leaving a hole?? 😭
Hii! It seems like a silly question but i was wondering how you used your tension square to get your amount of stitches at the start? :) thanks! ❤️
hi! i can’t find the yarn you used where i live, does anyone have alternatives? would something by drops work?
this is so cute i’m so excited to make this!! i was wondering where you buy your yarn?
Simply sock yarn is my face place to buy hand dyed yarn, I’ve really been liking Drops too but it’s hard to find in the US so I get it off Etsy
@@cutiekittystudio Thank you for replying i’ll definitely looking into those!
What yarn did you use for the sweater in the thumbnail?
You look like Sandra Bullock in her 20s!
Hi! I can’t seem to find the red yarn you used I absolutely love the color of it. Also this is such a beautiful design
I just fixed the Google doc!

What's the total length of the circular needles (cable + needle included) in cm, please ?
hii I have a question idk if you could help me 😿 this is my first knit project and I was thinking of making it without the back opening, in that case should I just keep going in the round til the arm holes? and like making the same length of the front at the back? hopefully you can help me I love this top 🫶🏻🫶🏻

Kendall??😮
You look like Kendall Jenner 😍
the google doc is gone :(
yeah, hope she’ll bring it back:(
It’s been fixed!
What color is the red yarn in?
red
I can’t wait to cast this on… how many skeins of the red yarn did u use?
2! I had an extra just in case too but only ended up using about 1 and 3/4s
The google doc has been deleted :/
It’s been fixed!
