This man walks on to the crossing when the lights are flashing and alarms ringing, and refuses to get off after getting trapped.

Unbelievable, there was no urgency in the man. Interesting that the phone rang, the signaller in a flap no doubt. It is good to see the CCTV works but is does show how dangerous crossings can be with remote monitoring. Great video which deserve many more hits.

I am signaller and remote monitoring is absolutely safe and fine. This sort of thing takes place even if there was a Signaller located at the crossing on site. The Signaller has stopped the lowering sequence so that the person can escape. These are not dangerous crossings at all, they are perfectly safe if used correctly. Here in the video the man is at fault, not the railway.

3 questions. Why at 0:17 did the alarm sound different. Also what did they say on the yellow phone when you picked it up? And what happened next ?
Hi! As I walked forward at that time you could hear the second alarm, which actually sounds broken, so that's why it sounds different. I can't remember exactly what the signaller on the yellow phone said, but it was something along the lines of "can you get this idiot off the crossing please!" After that, another person guided him off the tracks and normality resumed XD

those warning sounds are really creepy…i remember when it was a simple bell that sounded..funny though as you had no where near the amount of people deliberately ignoring a system that is there to protect them …

It's up to £1,000 and they won't charge you that for trespassing alone. Only if you refuse to exit the tracks when told, or do something dangerous like cause damage or nearly derail a train.
Why would you do that?
I guess after watching this it must be a good idea to stand on a railway line when a train's coming NOT!

GoatFader Level crossing misuse is really important, and sometimes itr can go horribly wrong. It is necessary to get the story "out there" so people are informed that it's a really dangerous thing to do.
