Thank you so much for sharing with us, Kate and Judy (Kate's mum 🙂). Such a wholesome conversation. I think it's our generation that will change the narrative and put in the work in being friends with our children.
😢am sorry, this topic is heavy on me... But this is exactly why I choose to be childfree... because I am aware of what parenting entails and am not sure I can pour from an empty cup...this puts me in a vulnerable state but it's okay... having to be friends with your parents is a blessing... especially when you are not forcing it and it's very natural...it's lonely not to have your parents let alone family as your friends...I see what you did there😊 this topic goes hand in hand with the previous one...good one..
Thank you for opening up. Your choice to be childfree is valid and yours to make! Being a parent is more than just providing basic needs for sure. You need to make sure your cup is full in order to give your children the best!!
Three weeks ago the algorithms did what they do best😄, overheard a conversation I was having with a friend regarding how we both wish we had good relationships with our folks. Then as I was scrolling away, I came across your podcast. I love the conversations you have brought forth to my timeline. They are authentic, refreshing are impacting people's lives positively. Keep it up. This normalizes that forming relationships between kids and their parents especially early on in life on this level and more is not only important but possible. Judy I relate with a lot of what you have briefly described about your own personal relationship with your mum to this day and despite all that you have faced, I hope you look at yourself in the mirror and believe that you are doing amazing with Kate. Bless you guys and Keep up the good work, we will follow and cheer you on every step of the way.
This channel is a hidden gem! I’m looking forward to more insightful conversations like this. I’ve often wondered about the friendship aspect with parents, and this conversation gave me a lot to think about. Thanks for sharing!❤
Love the conversations. I am good friends with my mum but it has been a journey. When I was a teenager not so much but now as an adult, the friendship is way better of course with boundaries..
It baffles me everytime, when womxns issues are raised/challenged. The same womxn go so hard on their kind. I think people are broken and deep trauma is shouting hard in an online engagement.
Can we all appreciate kates mom.....😊
Yes please 🙏🏾
