Thank you so much! So clear straight to the point, I understand much more than ever. For a real word hands on approach this is great! better than anything else I have seen anywhere, much appreciation for your effort, great stuff. Thanks again Michael Melbourne Australia
I wanted to say that these videos deserve WAY MORE VIEWS than they have received. The production, quality, cadence and information is better than most of the PAID crap that is out there. Thank you for taking your own personal time to put together such fantastic material. This is all very well done, so professional and so informative. A huge thank you from Arizona.
For a one or two instances in a mix, does it makes sense to micromanage volume fade outs or volume automation (in this instance fading out the guitars) rather that using side-chain? Acoustically, it is the same ending result right?
It is entirely up to what your mix needs the most.. Writing automation gives you surgical control over minute parts of the mix whereas using side chain to control volume largely automates the process.
Just found your channel as I’m looking into mixing inside Cubase 9.5 & you explain everything really nice. Thanks and subbed. It will take me a while to go though your videos but can you tell me that when you start a mix do you add group/bus channels as you need them, like one step at a time as it looks quite confusing sending and routing to various group/bus channels.
Thanks for the sub! Yeah, it can seem a little confusing when your first starting out mixing but understanding when and how to use busses and sends can really help down the road in your mixes for sure.
