Yeah renting one of these cars for at least a day and taking them on some good roads is the only way to really understand what they are all about. A quick dealer test drive is almost worthless
For what this car offers in entirety in addition to what it makes you feel like as an owner and driver is absolutely priceless. This is the best money I have ever spent on any object...ever.
Hahaha… ok… if it makes you feel better. I get more power and better weight distribution, and more excitement from an AMG GTC… not to mention a lower price.
I have the 2019 991.2 Turbo. It always amazes me in its performance‼️ I had a Tesla S P85D and it was nice but became very boring and anyone who likes the EV sound and thinks it is as good as a traditional Sports Car sound then you are in your own approving world. I sold my EV and it will need new solid-state reliable batteries before I venture into the EV automobile arena again. I get a smile walking up to my Porsche 911 Turbo and a definite satisfied smile walking away from it more than any other car that I have owned/leased or rented. This is my 17th Porsche. I have owned over 40 performance cars. “Porsche has no substitute”. I currently own a few modern Corvettes. Looking forward to getting the new C8 ZO6. However no other car has satisfied my ownership experience better than Porsche‼️ They are definitely a “driver’s car” more so than any BMW or AMG Cars. Had a few of each. Had a chance to get the 718 Porsche SPYDER but passed on it to get the Corvette C8 Stingray; that was a serious mistake on my part. The SPYDER will be the best and last of the convertible Sports Cars with this liberal world pushing for the lie of the EV driving world. The 992 Porsche needs to bring back the ability to shift gears using the console shifter with the PDK just like in the GT3. This was the reason for buying the 991.2 car over the new 992 Turbo. Good video, next time take 30 seconds to just drive with zero talking please.
Most people don’t realize how quick this is not just off the line... but around corners. Everyone is racing it in straight lines, which it almost always wins, but its even harder to keep up with this car on the street once it starts going around corners.
MANY times while driving my old-school 930, I would get out of the car, and reflect: 'what person signed off on letting a mere mortal have this MUCH power!!' By far, the most violent car I have ever driven.
Good review. On the base models what would be the point of paying an extra £40,000 for the S when all you get is carbon ceramic discs, one tenth of a second faster to 60mph and an S badge. 🇬🇧👍
I take all my vehicles without the badge. Cleaner look, and who knows anything knows, as for others - they may very well think it's the base model for all I care!
Why oh why do road testers always insist on trying to get in the back of a 911... It's clearly for kids or bags!!! i.e. it's a 2 + 2 and was never intended to cater for adults taller than 5ft.3... Apart from that a good review!
You lost me when getting in the back seat. ;) The owner never really uses the back for anything but storing stuff---It also folds down to make a storage shelf.
Even my shy992/2S with manual transmission has amazing performance I can’t imagine the performance of that simple Turbo, maybe one day I replace it with this one.I do like when you said how early after apex you accelerate, this generation 992 is amazing on all aspects.
I think this is the only video about the 992 Turbo. The rest is all about the Turbo S and it's almost impossible to find a comparison between the Turbo and the Turbo S of the 992 generation. And I believe that is so inconvenient for Porsche and S owners, that will never be a test between them...
I am lucky to have had the privilege of having had a GT3 and a Turbo S. My conclusion is if you spend most of the time on the track definitely go for the GT3. On the UK roads the Turbo is far easier to live with and the larger fuel tank gives a worthwhile range. I found the GT3 too stiff and low and it hated the UK speed humps bottoming out continually on our poor B roads.
@@hpman911 Thank you for your comment bro. I’m actually leaning on Turbo S too, but GT3 so tempting to have. Plus, price now in my country Malaysia, for recond way cheaper than new Turbo S. I’m planning to have either one, end next year or mid 2023. It all depends on my client renewals. 😁 Thanks man. Really appreciate your opinion on this. Have a good one. 👍🏽
@@hatibudak3511 Look at it this way - the GT3 is a track car you can drive on the street. The Trubo/S is a street car you can drive on the track. The GT cars are more visceral . I've owned Turbo Ses and driven several GT3 and RS models (I'm an instructor). If you're primarily looking for a track toy, the GT3 is more exhilarating - higher revving engine and RWD. The Turbo S is slightly faster, and I love AWD personally.
I wanted a Turbo S without the center-lock rims but Porsche wouldn’t allow my order to go through so I got the Turbo. I had center-lock wheels on my two previous Porsches. Such a huge pain in the ass when you get a flat. Nobody can get the wheels off except a Porsche dealership. It is a huge scam by Porsche. Plus the dealership forces you to purchase a new $1000 dollar tire as opposed to patching the tire. Hell after two bad experiences I called my buddy when I got a nail and he arrived on scene to patch the tire and inflate it there on the side of the road. I placed 25 thousand miles on that particular tire and saved the ass pain of towing and being forced to purchase a new expensive tire. Never buy the center-lock rims. It looks cool but those sticky tires collect nails. Never again for me.

Thanks for reviewing the regular turbo. Every video is about the s. 650 hp is unnecessary for regular driving lol
You cannot understand what a masterpiece this car is until you actually get behind the wheel of one.

I so badly want one but the turbo S with aero package
@@Fluterra ha ha but yours is slower and not all wheel drive. No competition.
Thanks Frank that's beautifully put.
An EV no matter how quick is lacking the one thing that a sports car must have....a soul and a soundtrack to accompany the performance.
EVs aren't silent. The make a pretty cool sound from the electric motors. It's very futuristic sounding.
Same thing with a horse vs. a car. Horse has tons of charisma vs. a car made of steel…
The beast - who said you can’t have fun in the turbo S - looks like fun

Epic car! But hugely costly...
Gt4 then.
Not in comparison to a Ferrari, Lamborghini or Aston Martin.
When you put it in to park and you're on a hill and it rolls a bit, perchance if the parking brake was set...
Great video Andy. I love the Turbo but would prefer the operatic GT3 and to pocket the change…
GT2 for me
On track, big Yes to gt3 and gt2. However, for daily and real life driving, the turbo is untouchable!
@@lelov1392 you nailed it! The GT3 too impractical as a daily driver.

What road? About 12.57 i cant pick up what road u mention in Victoria.
I'm getting one
Great video, awesome car.
how does it compare to gte
At least it doesn't cost anything to look at it! Stunning!
If the turbo lag is even shorter on the turbo vs the S I would go for the turbo .
I love this German badboy,, thumbs up for Porsche,
Where about in AUS is this filmed?
It was filmed on the Eildon-Jamieson Road in Victoria.
Question here, how this compare to GT2RS or GT3RS for daily use? In terms of comfort and fatigue?

Wow those exterior upgrades cost more than the preowned MK7 Gti I just picked up
If you go for the Turbo S in the Uk a lot of the extras are included so although a lot more money on paper the actual price difference is small .
The 4S is 90% of this car, and for far less money. IMO, either go for the nuts Turbo S or stick with the 4S.
When you put P on the hill and release the brake, the german engineer gets a heart attack seeing it. Nice review anyway;)
Exactly, you're not supposed to do that. But I guess in Australia they are too much used to CVTs and automatics in general, like in the US
Perfect
Tested 0 to 60 in 2.5 seconds..just saying
Half million dollar car? You mean quarter million? They haven't appreciated that much, even with dealer markups. ;-)

Pure marketing policy to push customers to choose the S.
Oh what a surprise, the boomer's favorite 911 is 99BOOMER
Half a million dollars???? Nah that’s not the price
Yeah it's realistically half that
The turbo starts at 182,000 not half a million- big mistake..

The back seats are fine for a young family and suit kids up to about 11 conformably.
