- This is my favorite Tom Berenger movie. It's got it all-an interesting mystery (unbelievable, but who cares?), beautiful scenery, lovely romance, and a great ending. Suitable for all the family (except for very young and sensitive viewers). Available at Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk
Please note: I zoomed in on the picture because I wanted the faces of the actors to be more visible. That means that there is some cropping off of the edges. The DVD is in 2.35:1 aspect ratio (Cinemascope widescreen).
This was such a good story for a
movie. Good music. And Hersey
and Berenger really great together.
If you guys haven't seen the movie, go rent it for SURE... it is AWESOME. it is narrated by none other than Wilford Brimley, the venerable actor with the perfect voice for the part. I highly recommend it.

Absolutely one of my all-time favorites. Film-making at its best, in my opinion. Superb acting -- can't even imagine any two people as a better fit for Lillian & Lewis, or any of the other characters! -- wonderful cinematography & locations, wonderful story line, & the musical score is amazing!! I loved Eugene Blackbear as Chief Spotted Elk! I bought & watched this movie back in the mid-to-late 90s, but love it as much today as then. Tonight, for the first time, I watched the Director's Comments. All the things he pointed out, that he thought he could've done better, such as changing what he thought might be potentially corny lines, I totally disagree with. It is PERFECT just as it is!! And the emotional scenes where Lewis is leaving Zip with the little Indian girl? I LOVED it -- he was SO real!! Just a beautiful movie!! So AUTHENTIC!!

I really enjoyed Sniper too. Unfortunately, there are a few actors that I can't stand to watch anymore in the movies. Billy Zane is one of them.

This was such a gay assed movie. Like you would have a tribe of indians undiscovered in modern times like that. Give me break. horrible.
