Pretty sure the "Underground Railroad" game file indicates that those men were slaves fleeing to freedom and this was a hidden stop in the historically famous Underground Railroad. An incredible find, nonetheless.
The underground railway was a name given to a group that helped slaves escape their captors. The names were the names of some of the slaves the underground railway helped free. They were hidden in the basement, not held there.
And the house is just near the border with New Hanover but still in Lemoyne, which means they were probably caught helping escaped slaves which is why the house is destroyed
The underground railroad isn't a literal railroad. It was a network of individuals who helped slaves escape, with arguably the most famous among these individuals being Harriet Tubman. The names on the beams are the names of slaves who had escaped and were on their way to freedom. That house was probably one of the stops on the way, not a place where they originated.
This Underground Railroad stop may have been discovered. This could also explain why the shack is destroyed and the names stop at 1857 even though the civil war didn’t start until 1861.
Finally someone covered the tree with pots and pans around it. I found this early in one of my playthroughs. Throughout that playthroughI would return to that tree and the number of pots and pans would multiply, until finally in the epologue when I returned there had to be over 40 pans and such attached to the tree and about 15 kettles and pots on the ground around it. During my current playthrough the quantity of objects was about the same in this video. Years ago I read a book about the Old Pioneer days in the U.S. This was before any passage was discovered over the Rocky Mountains to the west coast. Back then Mountain Men, Trappers, Prospectors etc would venture into the Wilderness and on their way back out they would lighten their load of heavy, unnecessary objects at a trailhead for others passing by to take if they needed them. I think this might be a reference to this obscure historical tradition.
Yeah, I figured as John we could get $25 or even $50 for it... but it barely doubled in price and that was it... I guess he wasn't THAT famous after all!

Game files mention, by name, a movement to smuggle slaves to freedom. Strange Man: Clearly, they worked for the railroad. Pristine, undented pots and pans loosely hung on a tree without a single bullet mark on it, that fall down immediately when shot. Strange Man: Clearly, they were used for target practice. I'd say that he's running out of RDR2 material, but I thought the same thing two years ago and he just keeps finding stuff.
The number 2 fact is more cursed to never leave the town where people always stare at him and never accept him. Instead of causing albinoism which you are born with. Otherwise people and Horatio himself would probably comment on him suddenly turning pale white.
The pots and pans was probably a call back to Red Dead Revolver. Its what Red uses to learn how to shoot. Theres even funny dialouge from his mother "Dont shoot my pots and pans!"
I have two 'mysteries' from my playthroughs: 1: On a hillside, about 500 feet, over the trail, WSW of Fort Riggs, there is, a lone, small Indian grave. It has a grave marker made from a human skull, horns and bird feathers. The marker might be 'looking' in the direction of Beecher's Hope 2: Up on a climbable rock, at the junction to the trail, just above the 'M' of Mount Shann, Is an stone obelisk, that's surrounded, on the ground, by a circle of stones, like the spokes on a wheel, with faint direction arrows at the ends of some. (One of which points to a distant rock, near the 'V' of the word 'Valley', that has a stash under it). Haven't found if there's an event that I haven't done, that triggers it. You got the first one wrong. 1. The underground railroad doesn’t refer to an actual railroad. It was a group of abolitionist people that helped slaves escape from slavery. So those names and dates are the names of slaves that stayed there hiding from slave catchers over that time span. 2. It doesn’t take 6 years to make a railroad so that also debunks your theory. The reason it may have been burned down is that the person inhabiting the home may have been caught and either killed or just had their house burnt down as punishment. So no, slaves were not kept their in slavery, but rather to escape to freedom.
I was wondering if someone could make a video about "secret" spirit animals that you can see throughout a gameplay. I know several others have already pointed out the Underground Railroad discrepancy, but I would like to point out that there is NO way that enslaved people would risk being caught writing. That was a hugely punishable offense, with some enslavers choosing to simply execute those that could do so. Furthermore, that's pretty clearly a Northern state or Western territory at the time, in which case it's dubious slavery would have been legal at all.
@@CrackingCody That's not strictly true, based on the section of the map. Ambarino, for instance, is inspired by Colorado, and Tall Trees is loosely based on the Rockies. So. Considering the game is a fictional area based on the borders of Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi, slavery was very much legal. 🤷🏻♂️
@@CrackingCody That's not strictly true, based on the section of the map. Ambarino, for instance, is inspired by Colorado, and Tall Trees is loosely based on the Rockies. So.
ETA I just looked at the location on the map again, and it's right on the border of the Heartlands, which seems to be inspired by Oklahoma, Nebraska, or Kansas, right next to...somewhere south-ish. So yeah, either way, I guess. I also know that slavery was legal in the south, my wife is an American historian, like who wouldn't know that, come on.
Well done
“Slave” is such a harsh term, enslaved sounds more respectful I always think 🤷🏻
So, that's how Pawn Stars started.
Thank you
This game is just EPIC
Hey, if anyone read this, can you tell couple things? Or can them be covered and explained?
1. During one of my playthroughs i went to six point cabin, before the mission, "Paying a social call" and there wasnt an single o driscolls there, same with after i returned later after that mission. Are they just there once, because six point cabin is one of their hideouts however.
2. I have solid guess where Kieran died, Old Henry Fern, was secluded and near at Shady Belle, Now in mission, "Horsemen Apocalypses" there was a lot of o driscolls that attacked there, obviously they needed hideout which was near the belle. And old henry fern was both secluded and abandoned location, perfect for them. Besides they snatched Him outside of shady Belle and i doubt they took Him all the way back to WE to Lone Mule stead where they had another hideout, where Arthur was being kept. Yes, they had lot of Hideouts in New Hanover during chapters 2-6. But Lemoyne had lesser Secluded locations. But Old Henry Fern was like that.
3. In mission "Icarus and Friends" O driscolls chase Sadie, and they come from Up North. There was a whole division up there, as Roanoke forest had lots of Cabins, too and it's part New Hanover. But, how did Sadie knew there was a whole division of O driscolls, up in Roanoke forest?

Damn my hundred playthrough and I never looked up at the ceiling 🤦♂
Dang first time you've been wrong. They hid slaves in that house, not made them work. Still love your videos though ❤❤
What if you try to sell the drawing as John when you completed the mission as Arthur?
Underground railroad wasn't an actual railroad and I'm fairly certain Horatio is an albino
Good stranger update
What happens if you hold on to the picture for John to sell
I just hope GTA 6 has this many in-depth details and secrets/world building. Tall order, but I hope we’ll all be pleasantly surprised.
Huh I always think the color of his face was a light bug
what about if you sell charles' painting as john years later? how much is it worth then??
God does NOT curse you. He will PUNISH you if needed.
I hate hearing people call native americans savages they were only fighting for their land
if i sell the painting as John will cost more than 4 dollars?
I'm one of those "Idiots."
Anything new on ol' Gavin?
Pan shot!
Is your outfit a mod or is it a pelt?
7:02 😂
Kifflom? Is that in gta 5?
What is the name of the score on the first secret?
4:23 I think she got racist remarks from him so she cursed him to be pale.
During the Horatio segment of the video, the music is from Chapter 4 mission "Angelo Bronte, a Man of Honor" but it seems edited / mixed... Can anyone link me up to this version?
