Hi guys! We know we are struggling with the sound quality... There is a really big echo in our apartment here in Mexico during quarantine... And if we try to film outside our cameras overheat (it is HOT)... We will keep trying different audio set ups with our equipment, but in the meantime, we apologize for a bit of an echo. CHEERS!! 🌍🚐🎥
Well, it doesn't sound fine as you know. But that certainly didn't stop me from watching the entire video. You're getting so much better in front of the camera! 👍
👍Awesome list. 💝 Thank you. I don’t know how you guys thought of all of these great ideas. I’ve been sharing your channel all over UA-cam. 😂 People need to know about that recirculating shower!! Wishing you guys the best. 🤗💖🤗
I am ways looking for ways to improve my sprinter, thanks for the gear items, great ideas! It seems that the slick locks would be a deterrent only if you have them in all the doors, I would add them to the front doors (I know you can do that, I have seen them installed in other sprinters). After watching your video I may consider the club again (as much as it looks a little antiquated to me, but it does give a clear message...). With respect to the floor mats, we just take off our shoes, which are of the type that you don't have to tie, just slip in and out of them, that way we keep the dirt out of the van 😊. Thanks again, happy and safe travels!
Thank you Snow. Making my list: Ladder Fire extinguishers Air compressor WeatherTech floor liner Locks: I have another idea I'd like to explore before bolting big ugly steel disks on the outside of Lily (our Van): electromagnets. So long as the batteries are putting out juice, nothing will pry the doors open. At least, that's the plan.
Hello there!Would like to say about second use of fire extinguisher as defence against any intruders not only humans !! You can just spray them with very good effect!!
I bet this down time has been a good inventory check of sorts. And couldn't agree with you more on mats. Crazy how just one day or a walk on a beach can bring it all in.
I just love u two. I got my van n i want to build out my van some what the same. I got out of my apartment after buying my van a month ago n moved in n i love it on June 1st n now i need to save money n make sure i get a circulating shower i just love that u dont have to think about conserving water n that u can shower for 30 mins that is crazy. I dont do 30 minutes but still i love it. I also love the solar system but i just one or two panel that can hold alot of wattage. If its possible. But that take saving that money to put the whole thing together. I am now just have cubby dressers that holds my closthes n my couch bed n a pee bucket for now n it works for me. Only been in it four days n just love being free from rent.
I had hockey puck locks on my van. One day one of the locks on the sliding door just stopped working. The key would rotate but the cylinder wouldn't come out. I had to get a mechanic to use the angle saw to cut the latch. Because the angle saw will not cut through the hockey puck locks. It only took about a minute to cut through. Ahead I'm on my Ford van as well they are very good locks. And I always lubricate it and locks every week. You might want to get some hockey puck locks for the doors, driver's door passenger door. At Menards the locks cost $50 From Bambi
Greetings Snow & Curt! I like the security idea of the slick locks for the rear & slider doors, thank you for sharing that tip. Have you stumbled across anything for the front doors you’d recommend? Or do you guys have no additional security for those? Also, I was wondering if you stumbled across any recommendations for window security? I saw the security film mentioned below. I’m not familiar so will do some research. Thanks again guys. Happy van trails! Jason
Some great picks 👌 and a few I hadn't seen before too! Thanks for the great 💡's Snow ❄! And now onto a completely different topic? Could I be so nosy as to inquire about the story behind your unusual (but super cool) name? I can honestly say I have never met anyone who was named Snow before. Of course you can tell me to mind my own 🐝 bees wax (as my dearly departed Mom used to say) ... I would not be offended in the least. Happy Trails 👣 🍁👵❤🐕👅🇨🇦
We have some light weight metal grates that were built to protect the tanks and sensitve plumbing areas. Had them made once we got into Mexico... incredibly cheap! Great questions!
hi great video, i'm curious what happens with the solar porch lights when you drive at night? do they come on if you don't turn them off with the button?
Our attic is somewhat "removable" with a couple days work and we will lower the tire pressure to SQUEEZE in. If lowering pressure is not quite enough, we will have steel wheels made to get us low enough. We will deal with all of this whenever we get to Panama... So stay tuned, it'll be an adventure! LOL 😬
It has only been one year... and 3 months of that has been during the virus. We have 30,000 now. That is with full time travel and doing some driving for sure! Hope that helps.
The best thing to do for them not to steal your van is to take out the wire that goes to spark plug number one. Carry that wire with you. But sometimes it's hard to get to that wire. You can install a kill switch in the van but don't put it on UA-cam so that the whole world can see where it's at. I hope your van never gets broken into. God bless you!
The lock is good and all, but if someone wants to break in to a car or a van i guess they just smash a window and get what they want and are of in 30 sec..
Agreed .. we have security film on our windows that would slow that down. Nothing is perfect... We just tried to make it a bit harder! Thanks for tuning in!
Sorry... It was just too hot to film outside (we are in southern Mexico 😳)... And the little bungalow we are in to ride out the votoba virus is 100% concrete... W be tried everything to fight the echo, just can't beat it!! We cannot wait to get back in the van!! Sorry again!
Snow & Curt no mic? Defiantly in need to invest in it... game changing, telling you as TV director. But u need one with wind cover. BTW trying to find video about ur roof rack I like it,,,, is it DIY or from Tiny solar?
Snow & Curt no worries just very important video had to turn off the sound and just watch the pic. Invest in mic. For Utube it’s a need and these kinda videos always hit for 100K viewer. At least. With this sound u r loosing it. Just record it through the headphones and u don’t need to edit it again. Just on top of pic. Scrip u have already, it is time consuming but it helps the channel.
We've tried four different mics.... Good ones.... This echo is brutal! But, we sincerely appreciate the feedback! And, when out and about we do get a bit lazy with the mic set ups... We are working on it!
I wonder if you realize how much of this list is generated by things you're scared of. Perhaps a break from the road would do some good. I like your van build and wish you all the best.
Scared isn't the right word... Cautious sounds better! We used the same caution in our traditional home. But, point taken! Thanks for watching and for the kind words.

👍No worries. I could hear you just fine. It’s a work in progress. 🤗
Glad to hear that guys!

Love your list. Thank you for taking the time to put it together, and include the links as well. Bonus!
You are very welcome .. glad it was helpful!
I wish you would give that list again with a note of where we can get these items and maybe give a price, if possible. Thanks
Wow, these are all things that I would not have thought of until it was too late. Thanks for this! Saved!
Glad it was helpful!

Those locks sound interesting... let us know how they go if you end up putting them on Lilly!
You guys are an inspiration! What a lovely van!
Thanks so much! Thanks for tuning in.
Thank you.
You're welcome!
Thanks for the list of needed items.
No problem!

Good point!!
I bet this down time has been a good inventory check of sorts. And couldn't agree with you more on mats. Crazy how just one day or a walk on a beach can bring it all in.
FWIW: I have heard it's also good to store/rotate them upside down every now and then. Not sure if that's your model type or not.
We are sitting everything in the van!!
Nice! Thanks!

The freedom of van living is amazing... Glad you are getting to experience it! Keep us posted as you add to your build!!
It’s cool! Thanks from Russia 😊

3M makes a window film.... research magnetic locks, they take power, but you can get 12 volt.

Great video! 😃 I can’t wait to get a van!!
Glad you liked it Robin!! You are going to love your van when you get it!!!
How do you protect your water tanks? What if you drive over something sharp on the road?
We have some light weight metal grates that were built to protect the tanks and sensitve plumbing areas. Had them made once we got into Mexico... incredibly cheap! Great questions!
hi great video, i'm curious what happens with the solar porch lights when you drive at night? do they come on if you don't turn them off with the button?
Yes... that is the flaw! But, we are in Mexico now... and we do not drive at night down here!
How tall is your van? I thought cargo containers were 9.6ft tall max for a high cube

Snow & Curt ah okay, makes sense
How many miles you travel in a year? (not in special times like the quarantine).

You forgot the FIRST AID KIT
YES WE DID!! Wow... not sure how we did not think to put that in the vid.
3 weeks and 0 dislikes 😱
😁😁😁😁😁
Buy a remote mic, please! :-)
We know... We've tried several audio set ups... It's our walls. See my comments above! Thanks for watching! ☺️
hard to hear u talking with the music in the back ground
Thanks for tuning in! Sorry you did not like the music

@@SnowAndCurt Yeah dont we all. Keep up the good work!
The club is pointless. True it does take an extra tool to take it off but if you have a hacksaw you can have it off inside 10 seconds.
well... makes me feel better, so that part is good. Thanks for tuning in.
Damn wanted to watch video but it is impossible to listen sound is horrible always like videos maybe better to record a new one...painful to listen
