This could be released tomorrow, and no one could say it sounds like a 19 year old song! Yes - this came out in late 1988! AND - those lyrics - fit 1000% to all going on now! PERRY RULLES
Always loved the song but never saw this video..It must have been one of Farrell's moments of clarity...He has swagger...presence...almost Jaggar-like in this video...no wonder I like this band...
I for one have never seen them put on a "bad" show, and I've been to bunches. One of those bands worth following around the country, in my opinion. Would have been amazing to have seen the very early stuff (mid-late 80's), but I got started in the early 90's. Stellar band.
My apologies fellas. You're both correct. I don't know why I was so sure. It'd been so long since I heard the first disc that I was pretty positive. At least we can agree that this is a fantastic track!
eh? Jane's already regrouped in 2003, with the hitsingle Just Because and the awesome comeback album "Strays"... I'm a fan too but doubt they will reunite for the third time
The song "Ted, Just Admit It..." is about serial killer Ted Bundy and contains spoken words by Bundy, from a statement he made(fr.wikipedia). On the inside album/cd cover right by the lyrics that is a picture of ted with a beard.bet you'll never listen to it the same.
@NickODU2015 I always have. I would attribute his lack of attention to playing with feel and dynamics as opposed to real fast and hard which for some reason I will never understand gets all the attention?
OK - I was sure that "Cut it short, good times anyway" was a Ted Bundy quote (like the samples used on the album - "Everybody is so full of ...", "There's gonna be bodies turning up ...". But I cannot find any reference to "Cut it short. Good Times anyway" so is it just a Perry made-up thing? Enquiring minds want to know!
@ksedore I actually found it. Check this out !! The whole show is on there in parts. Absolutely insane. Jane's Addiction - Enit Festival 1997 (part 11)
You did NOT just say Carmen Electra made Dave a household name!! He was famous long before her and if there's any justice in this world, will remain famous long after she does. Who am I kidding? Of course he will -- as soon as her looks go (the clock it ticking) she will have nothing to offer.
Claudio doesn't even play lead most of the time. Slash is a highly overrated guitarist. He never has done anything that hasn't been done before, whereas Hendrix did stuff no one dared to(albeit with the helf of Mitch Mitchell). I never really liked Page though.
no, i hear ya. the groove is a bit weird without Avery and Perry misses some of the best vocal parts, but oh well. I saw them during that tour, it wasn't that bad...
I'm sorry, it is true. I'm from So Cal and grew up right in the middle of that whole scene. There were way better shows with their original bassist -- they have just not been the same without him. No one seems to give ERIC AVERY any credit -- listen to all the bass intro's in their songs -- his riff's were the foundation for Perry and Navarro. And btw: Am I the only one who is sick of Navarro's frigging goatee or what? I like him less and less as his goatee gets bigger and bigger. LOL
@lennex88 : i assure you. It's song titke is ** not ** Ted, Just Admit it. The song is called Nothing's Shocking from the "Nothing's Shocking" album. .
most underrated band of all time, best band of the 90s as well
This could be released tomorrow, and no one could say it sounds like a 19 year old song! Yes - this came out in late 1988! AND - those lyrics - fit 1000% to all going on now! PERRY RULLES
Janes live is untouchable!!!
My favorite Jane's era. They were mostly clean, and Perry's voice was still strong. They were perfection in the late 90's/early 2000's.
i could listen to that bass all day
as a matter of fact ; I bought myself a bass and learned how to play just because this song . one of my top 3 ever !!!
One of the greatest songs ever,I saw them in Pittsburgh back in the day.Unreal!
So good to see .happy they are still here, alive and sober. They sound better than they did 25 years ago .
Always loved the song but never saw this video..It must have been one of Farrell's moments of clarity...He has swagger...presence...almost Jaggar-like in this video...no wonder I like this band...
Increible mi banda de cabezera desde sus inicios, es un placer ver a una banda como esta que potencia en el escenario.
The two times I saw them, I felt like I was in the middle of the best Roman party I had ever been to. Man they were the best live
I for one have never seen them put on a "bad" show, and I've been to bunches. One of those bands worth following around the country, in my opinion. Would have been amazing to have seen the very early stuff (mid-late 80's), but I got started in the early 90's. Stellar band.
Every morning on my way to work I drive by the house that Ted Bundy grew up in and I think of this song.
Not even a big "janes addiction" fan,,,saw them twice in '91..birmingham and NO....great shows.
Wow...what a performance.Perfect Sound.Perry is King
I think years of rocking and drugs have taken their toll, listen to their 80s shows, he's right on unless their all strung out
buenisima banda... buena musica... de lo mejor que oi.. y en vivo tenian un show impresionante!!
saw 'em open for Love and Rockets - Earth Sun Moon tour. was amazing.
@JCooltrane83 the bassline just NEVER gets old
ive done that before... this song is great baby-makin music!
saw them around 1990 live in germany / bochum / zeche.
just amazing. :top
Perry... you redifined camp... camp is cool!!
you rock!!!!!!
holy shit does this rock the fuck out. best rock band of the last 25 years, hands down.
My apologies fellas. You're both correct. I don't know why I was so sure. It'd been so long since I heard the first disc that I was pretty positive.
At least we can agree that this is a fantastic track!
Just great man.....great.
Good times anyway!:)
if you didn't see janes addiction before they originally broke up in 91, you didn't see them...
love this song. great live band i think
Great ! :)
the best band ever !!!!!!!!!
THE BEST BAND EVERRRRRRR!!!!
i LOVE THIS MAN!!!!
totally agree with Corbydallas: fave album! fave song!
This live version could almost make the original one on Nothing's Shocking (1988) look like a demo!
Janes Addiction, Nine Inch Nails- best idea i've ever heard of. Wouldn't you know it, got my money's worth!
holy shit this gives me goosebumps
such a great psychedelic song.
this whole album is so fucking good
los amo ♥
PS: Been Caught Stealing was ALL over the radio (and MTV) in 1990, chief. Tell your grandma that.
Yes I do also.
well put
Great song🎼❤🤟
This song is on the sound track for "Natural Born Killers".
@JJJJay not really. the song is called ted just admit it
Wow they actually look healthy here. Compared to late 80's early 90's. Always great.
Its about Ted Bundy? LOL its just his voice at the beginning. the song is about how sex/violence on tv/media has an affect on people/culture.
"Everybody's so full of shit".........Love this tune.
Oh, well if your grandmother says so, then I take it all back!
eh? Jane's already regrouped in 2003, with the hitsingle Just Because and the awesome comeback album "Strays"... I'm a fan too but doubt they will reunite for the third time
Bonzo of the time
Perkins is unreal
The song "Ted, Just Admit It..." is about serial killer Ted Bundy and contains spoken words by Bundy, from a statement he made(fr.wikipedia). On the inside album/cd cover right by the lyrics that is a picture of ted with a beard.bet you'll never listen to it the same.
Fucking best Jane's Song
huevón nadie nojoda
Is this song about Ted Bundy?
Oh, and they had albums in '88 and '90 -- not '89, just to clarify = )
i actually thought that it was about al bundy
:P
@NickODU2015 I always have. I would attribute his lack of attention to playing with feel and dynamics as opposed to real fast and hard which for some reason I will never understand gets all the attention?
Totally... very sexy song. My first time hearing it was in natural born killers :)
Impressive! Music is the .. DRUG!!!!!
Fuck yeah!!
Freddy Mercury and Iggy Pop had a love child, and his name was Perry!
OK - I was sure that "Cut it short, good times anyway" was a Ted Bundy quote (like the samples used on the album - "Everybody is so full of ...", "There's gonna be bodies turning up ...".

@ksedore

Jane's Addiction - Enit Festival 1997 (part 11)
is this not one of the most intense songs ever?
Good time anyway!
@JJJJay i thought it was about Ted Bundy and the title was ted just admit it,
@Hava420friendly agreed.
@NickODU2015 he's brilliant, youre probably right, but drummers don't seem to get as much notice as singers/guitarists
not the full version - Reznor did sample a part tho
1:02-1:07 think he was still on drugs?
TED DID U ADMIT IT???
Does anyone know where this song with flea playing is?
looks like 10 people dont know what real music is
fucking cool
you got this great song from a band the likes of which hasn't been around in a looong time and all you can talk about is gay or not? Now THATS gay!
You did NOT just say Carmen Electra made Dave a household name!!
He was famous long before her and if there's any justice in this world, will remain famous long after she does.
Who am I kidding? Of course he will -- as soon as her looks go (the clock it ticking) she will have nothing to offer.
They are. Trent doesnt need to lip sync.
Is Eric Avery the bassist?
Si.
I agree with you. It's not a popular opinion, but he really lost the ability to bring it in a live setting.
He did have it until 93 or 94...
perry is the beautiful one!!!!
@vigteo1 Broner!
how's the surf blakestaH?
Yeah, that's true. Perry reminds me of Freddy Mercury.
cool as fuck
@bigsmooth50 LMAO.. yea jjjjay just admit it
Claudio doesn't even play lead most of the time. Slash is a highly overrated guitarist. He never has done anything that hasn't been done before, whereas Hendrix did stuff no one dared to(albeit with the helf of Mitch Mitchell). I never really liked Page though.
No mames Perry se mueve como teibolera en este video !!
Why would Ted admit it, when he didn't do those things?
no, i hear ya. the groove is a bit weird without Avery and Perry misses some of the best vocal parts, but oh well. I saw them during that tour, it wasn't that bad...
was he trying to be freddy mecurey??
@lilducklingsierra I guess 'Idiots Rule"
perry for prez
help* that is

im glad this isnt ted but nothings shocking instead
nothing shocking will never go out of style while a glimpse of white panty will quivir up and down the scales of permisiveability and style fashion +
