My only argument is that it would be dumb if they were training for the Olympics, but they are training for reps and the cardio and strength. I think their form held fine using that "light" weight. The problem is when new cross fit people try aiming for the reps and speed, but mess up the form. I am new to crossfit, but will not make this mistake. It really depends on both the individual and the culture of the crossfit gym you belong to.

Francisco Méndez Grajales you clearly know nothing about crossfit and are just another guy that hates. If they complete an incorrect rep its not counted so its the same! Theres a level of form that they need to complete the reps involved! If you were to compete at their level you would drop in form too. They’re machines. Nothing wrong with their form.

Savy vet. Gotta love the roid comments. You either have that mentality and drive in you or you don’t. Tons of ppl on roids who wouldn’t be able to finish one of their daily workouts. I don't know much about this sport, but it seems like on the toe-to-bar move, Froning only goes about 85-90% of the way and Fraser pretty much touches his toes on the bar, which I would think is a huge benefit to Froning...? At least until the set at 4:50, when Fraser appears to not curl up as high either, but the damage would already be done from the extra expenditure of energy while fresh...

But go try and tell people that LOVE crossfit how dumb the programs are...
You'll get all sorts of excuses, case in point the two comments right above mine.
Also that's part of why many people think bad of Crossfit, among other things.

The workouts in a class. I’ve had mixed opinions on it too coming from a body building style training before. CrossFit training is hard. The people are beasts. Just go try it and the people that love it generally love it in my experience because of the randomness aspect. I personally like the style of training because I can go off feel. I program my own workouts (I’m not trying to be huge or jacked like I was when body building I’m just trying to enjoy the training more) when I was training to look good I found out quickly that the style my friend used to train me with was fun but extremely repetitive. CrossFit fixes that repetitive nature.

      @@anthonyparker3713
Nice of you to assume i've never tried crossfit. Since you've laid down your points let me do the same.
This is exactly whats wrong with Crossfit; Confusing what is considered volume movements and programming them for endurance ( using the Crossfit games as example, because i've seen great crossfit gyms that know how to program a nice flowing workout)
No one shits on Crossfit, for simply being Crossfit; they shit on ridiculous "fucktard" programming and execution... Or rather, lack thereof in the case of the latter
But again, when done right, it's really great in relation of keeping strength training and cardio at your peak.
It works great for Law Enforcement, Firefighters, Military, etc...
I don't enjoy bodybuilding also, i come from a Olympic Weighlifting background, i teach novice lifters the Snatch and Clean movements, and thanks to this i did teach in 4 crossfit gyms to make money for Uni, and that's my biggest problem with it. Doing volume work for time. There's a video of Fronning vs Khalipa where they're doing the same workout here, where both athletes are at a point of exhaustion, at a brink of passing out, where does that transfers to a great programming ? (not a different sight from what we see here).
I could be even ignorant and talk about the execution of some movements, like the muscle'ups, the pull up's, and the cleans, but that would be cherry picking, and all of it comes from the programming, "for time"... And again that's what i mostly disagree with.
We all have different opnions about different topics, and if crossfit does wonders for you, great to hear.
But don't be ignorant towards a different group just because they're making good points against what you enjoy.
Because most of those people that you assume are "bodybuilders" that don't know much. Usually are people that come from other modalities that are incorporated into Crossfit itself.

Can a crossfit fan please tell me how it's not stupid to go for a 1RM clean and jerk at that level of fatigue? There's a reason the Olympians only hit singles.

N8 . Whoever can clear the lactate to recover the fastest will have the highest percentage of their 1RM. So whoever has the better engine wins

As a past Crossfit critic, turned fan, I will do my best to explain.
To start, this isn't a 1RM clean and jerk for these guys. They've done more weight. This is a 1RM attempt under this level of fatigue.
There's also a reason it's not 400+ pounds on there like the olympians can hit. Different sport, different goals. Although now Fraser can hit 375 lbs and Froning is around a 370 lbs, and probably more if they weren't working out 3-4 times a day. Also, these aren't your ordinary Joe Shmoe, they are the two best at the sport. If they were ordinary, these weights would not be as heavy and so close to their actual 1RM for their level of fatigue.
Just like in Weightlifting, in Crossfit, you are taught correct form and when to know that you should bail - essentially anytime form is bad or something "isn't right" (bar slides off shoulders due to sweat, bar is leaning to one side more, etc.)- *by the good coaches/trainers* that are growing year-to-year as more and more coaches come over with Olympic Weightlifting certificates and more coaches seek to get certified in Olympic Weightlifting. The people who get hurt are the ones who choose to force the move when form isn't correct or try to "manhandle" it when things are going bad. This being said, most classes have a "strength" part and a "WOD" (Work Out of the Day) part. The strength part is heavy weights for the individuals or some training to strengthen a form... for the sake of this explanation, let's say you can do a 205 or 215 lb clean and jerk. Then when it comes to doing the WOD that has a clean and jerk or just a clean for 15 reps plus some form of cardio or gymnastics (to wear you down) for 3-5 rounds, you would choose 135 lbs to 155 lbs for the clean/clean-and-jerk which is only 65% to 75% of what you can clean and jerk, and break them up into 5/5/5 reps or 8/7 reps. So that would kind of be a normal type of workout for the sake of this example since I'm not actually a coach and wouldn't base those percentages to be exact. Basically, your body and mind get used to this - Crossfitters are used to this level of fatigue, these types of weights, and bailing if needed. *In essence, it's like if you could chest bench press 235 lbs max, but you and your friend decided to see who could do 20 pull-ups and then 15 reps of 165-175 lbs bench press the quickest everyday.* So when a WOD comes that requires you to slowly build to a 1RM under fatigue, you can do it. You may not hit your actual 1RM, but you will come pretty damn close, and these two guys in the video train all day so it's like doing what I said 3 times a day.
I know it's hard to find logical if you are only focusing on strength and how much you can lift - in fact, you may find it really stupid-, but what you train for is what your body adapts too... Fraser said a version of this once, 'The more you ask of your body, the more you will receive'. You aren't training for just strength, you are also training cardio ALL THE TIME. This level of fatigue is normal to us, and even more so, the beasts you see here. Most Crossfitters are used to this and we train once a day. When I started, I could lift pretty good weight (great for the average person who isn't fully dedicated to lifting, but not anywhere close to weightlifters) but my cardio was awful. I would finish these WODs lying on the floor in front of a fan for 10-15 minutes gasping for air... Now I finish, breath hard standing up for 20-30 seconds, and I'm fine and ready to try another hour session... imagine someone who does this all day, everyday.... 20 seconds would be enough time to build up enough energy to try a clean and jerk that is relatively close to your actual 1RM. Basically, the time it took these guys to slap on a few extra pounds and watch the other person, if you know what I mean ;)
These dudes wake up, eat, Train cardo or strength or both, eat, train WODs and specifics, eat, train weights/stength, maybe eat again, then go to bed EVERY DAY.
That is my attempt to explain this. I might have skipped over something that still makes no sense to you, so just let me know if I did.

To put this into perspective, Froning ( to the left and in black) trained mostly all day cardio and strength for over 5+ years and won the Crossfit Games in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and only barely came in 2nd in 2010 (his rookie year) only because he didn't know how to rope climb. He retired from individuals and only does team Games now. Fraser did weightlifting since he was 12 yrs old and even won Junior Weighlifting championships, then started doing crossfit, and after two or three years of doing it and getting his cardio to be to that point. He came in 2nd after Froning in the Crossfit Games in 2014 (his rookie year at the Games). While he focused a little on cardio... He still focused on strength and less cardio and therefore came in 2nd in 2015.... but since he's been hardcore dedicated, he's won 2016, and is about to win the 2017 Games (starting tomorrow, he is in first and almost 200 points in front of second place - that is a INSANELY HUGE lead in the Games - to put it into prospective, if you come in first in an event, you get 100 points and second place gets 94, third gets 88, etc.), basically he is a juggernaut.

N8 bruh at their weight of around 94 kg, they should be able to clean and jerk around 225-230 kg which is nearly 500 lbs if we're talking about Olympians 343 lbs ain't shit( still more than me though 😅😅)

It's about making it easier to pull your lower body up.
Therefore he's using the pull with some of tha Biceps and front delt, kinda of a inverted deadlift with the same hold.
Not acting like a know all, probably you knew this already, just taking part of the topic, cheers Bro.
