WORKOUT 13.5
MEN - includes Masters Men up to 54 years old
Complete as many rounds and reps as possible in 4 minutes of:
100 pound Thruster, 15 reps
15 Chest to bar Pull-ups
If 90 reps (3 rounds) are completed in under 4 minutes, time extends to 8 minutes.
If 180 reps (6 rounds) are completed in under 8 minutes, time extends to 12 minutes.
If 270 reps (9 rounds) are completed in under 12 minutes, time extends to 16 minutes.
Etc.
WOMEN - includes Masters Women up to 54 years old
Complete as many rounds and reps as possible in 4 minutes of:
65 pound Thruster, 15 reps
15 Chest to bar Pull-ups
If 90 reps (3 rounds) are completed in under 4 minutes, time extends to 8 minutes.
If 180 reps (6 rounds) are completed in under 8 minutes, time extends to 12 minutes.
If 270 reps (9 rounds) are completed in under 12 minutes, time extends to 16 minutes.
Etc.

65 pound Thruster, 15 reps
15 Chin over bar Pull-ups
If 90 reps (3 rounds) are completed in under 4 minutes, time extends to 8 minutes.
If 180 reps (6 rounds) are completed in under 8 minutes, time extends to 12 minutes.
If 270 reps (9 rounds) are completed in under 12 minutes, time extends to 16 minutes.
Etc.
MASTERS WOMEN - includes Masters Women 55+
Complete as many rounds and reps as possible in 4 minutes of:
45 pound Thruster, 15 reps
15 Jumping chest to bar Pull-ups
If 90 reps (3 rounds) are completed in under 4 minutes, time extends to 8 minutes.
If 180 reps (6 rounds) are completed in under 8 minutes, time extends to 12 minutes.
If 270 reps (9 rounds) are completed in under 12 minutes, time extends to 16 minutes.

If u can survive crossfit w hurting yourself, then yes. You will have increased your cardiovascular capacity a shit load. But, the key is not getting hurt w all of the ridiculous and ill advised workours and form

What defines a good workout for you ?
This is exactly whats wrong with Crossfit; confusing what is considered volume movements and programming them for endurance ( using the Crossfit games as example, because i've seen great crossfit gyms that know how to program a nice flowing workout)
Look at the video, there's a point where Khalipa is sitting down and Froning is chalking up his hands and almost is at the brink of passing out. That's two top athletes at the point of exhaustion... Great definition of a "great workout".
No one shits on Crossfit, for simply being Crossfit; they shit on ridiculous "fucktard" programming and execution... Or rather, lack thereof in the case of the latter
But again, when done right, it's really great in relation of keeping strength training and cardio at your peak.
It works great for Law Enforcement, Firefighters, Military, etc...
But don't be ignorant towards a diferent group, just because they are making good points against what you enjoy.

Hi guys..I am an Italian physiotherapist and 90%...90%!!!!... of my customers are former fans of crossfit...I have to thank the crossfit for providing me so many but very sorry for the damage it causes to human body!!!..they hardly are able to recover!!

Already proven myself, 136 stricts pull ups, in 20 minutes tho but it's still way better than these shitty excuses of pull ups seen in the video. Quality over quantity, always.
the objective isn't to activate the muscles or anything similar dude It's just to see how many you can do and still this isn't easy I'm pretty sure you can't do them like these.
If they were gymnasts, they would be half way to a kip with those “pull-ups”.
And no need to remind they are probably weighting around 100 kgs soo its more harder to do 110 pull ups than one guy who's weighting around 60 kgs

Lol if y’all think that these pull ups are so bad, then why not email David Castro, the creator of CrossFit, and tell him to change it. For now, don’t criticize something you’ve most likely never tried.
The pull up jokes and comments here are amazing!!!!! People who know nothing about cross fit let alone fitness. It takes more energy and condition to those pull ups which are called kipping chest 2 bar pull ups. The kip come from your legs while maintaing a hollow position from your shoulders and core ... just dropped some knowledge for all u gym knuckleheads. Strict pull ups very basic and can be done no problem for these guys.

superligitguy yes it takes less strength but more coordination. Which is what people don't understand. They see these pull ups and think cake .... right ? I bet no gym rat can string 5 butterfly pull ups together. Which is more for speed
E .S I never denied that doing these pull ups is for maximizing numbers. Refer to my reply above to the last guy that wrote to me. I agree it takes more effort body wise to do a strict pull up. But very basic - hang from bar and pull yourself up. It's great for building g shoulder, bicep and forearm strength. What my argument was that the butterfly pull ups you see in these vids and crossfitters do take more skill as you have to learn to keep momentum with a hollow position coming from the bottom and back to the top. Please dont come at me with pointless arguments.

The goal here is precisely to avoid excessive muscle tension in order to make as many repetitions as possible. This is not bodybuilding, no one is seeking hypertrophy with this exercise, they are different sports, open your mind and try to understand that the different of what you know is not necessarily wrong, since as I have already said, they are different goals. So your criticism has no reason.

That is not pull ups. That is call swinging in pole. Proper pull ups only lift your bodyweight from both of your hands

I'm not a crossfit expert, can anyone explain me why are they doing "pull ups" like that ? Is it a "crossfit-style pull up" or just a way to do pullups that is just easier ?
Nicolo Soverini just dont do crossfit, their pullups are more like fish ups
There called Butterfly or Kipping pull ups (they do both in this) they serve the purpose of increasing work capacity and are very difficult to perform correctly in a controlled manor. yes they are 'easier' if you where doing small sets but that is where the strict pull up comes in serving the purpose of developing strength and pulling mechanics. butterfly/kipping pull ups should not be performed unless the athlete possesses sufficient strength and mobility otherwise that's when injuries can occur. hope this helps.

Cameron Fraser-bradley kipping pull-ups with "controlled and performed correctly" are oxymorons.
Its based off a gymnastic move, it's like the transition into a muscle up that a gymnast would use, 99.9999% of people cannot do 1 single strict pull up , and 99.9% off people could t do a single 1 of these, either way your watching some of the fittest human beings that's ever lived
