Watched a video of Pakistanis making tractor crankshafts in a sweat shop last week. The contrast couldn't be greater. I know where I'd rather work, and whose product I'd rather buy...
Could you share the video link please ???
came here from the same video 😀
You're right, but it depends on the final user needings and budget.
Its called in Pakistan they can't buy new parts so they have to make their own parts. Don't act like you'd actually be buying Pakistani homemade cranks in America.
@@frankenstrat25 🤦♂️🤣
These videos are so exciting...it makes you feel like starting your own crankshaft manufacturing plant yourself.
This gives me a whole new appreciation for my car. I always loved it and I always will.
You have to respect these guys for doing such technical jobs.
Can you imagine then wiring all this equipment and actually make it work like this?
You mean the robots?😂
Fabulous and Amazing.
The amount of talent and money is mind boggling.
It's good to see these crankshafts are forged and not cast.
Amazing automation mind blowing work
That is beautiful engineering.
Amazing, what a clean working conditions.
I guess that's how it should be and pretty much always looks like that in videos of German companies. Could be bias (I'm European), but videos showing processes in US factories half the time it's poorly lit, oil/dirt covered machines with a lot of manual steps.
@@superdau you have alot to learn kid🤣
I am American & live in the US. I have been around many factories, the equipment is the newest available, & the conditions are very well maintained.
My guess is you saw a video of a small "mom & pop" shop that doesn't spend money on updated equipment.
@@superdau you must be thinking of the Indian manufacturing factories. I've seen no factories in the U.S. that fit your description
Amazing automation and technology
Thank you for sharing this video. Great. Amazing.
Thanks for watching!..
So amazing!!! well done ... very precise machine ....I ve seen a lot of VDO from other country .. they make crankshaft from scratch ...with the basic tool they have ... they impress me too .... have to start from there !!!!
Great job both machines and human
Amazing but too rushed, I want to see the processes in detail 😉😉
Goto Alfings main web site, more detailed video.
Felicidades.
Very clean and organized. I wish to work in such place
who came here after watching others from Asia?
That's how it's done guys. Perfect engeneering.
This is modern production speed.
Has nothing to do with production quality.
Everyone knows old production was slow but quality was better.
Thx a lot! What a beautiful music!
what track is that?
The Emperor's Army - Jeremy Blake
Love you videos, but your not allowing enough time for us as the viewers between the clips to absorb, enjoy and appreciate the process of the manufacturing. Too many transitions in too short a time my opinion.
Yes. Totally agree. It represents a desease in human consciousness. It has been done for thirty five years all over the civilized world. Instantly flick from one scene to another before a veiwer can appreciate or metabloize what they are looking at.
Exceptional video! Love the music and the editing
Great people very Excellent job
Keep going all the best good luck
Must be even harder for them when the buttons on the machines aren't marked in English, lol.
@@davidsmith6859 Lol you think this is a factory in America or run by Americans?
Watching the original videos on the manufacturer, Alfing's own channel is recommended and is far more educational.
No link?

Well done Alfing
We have only one person on the line and the profits are still not high enough, how can we make further cuts
now I want a crankshaft factory!
Excellent video thank you
Thank you for viewing
Beautiful video! Thanks I like
Thanks for watching.
Best work

I've seen guys make these in Pakistan using only a hammer and a coarse file.
nice video... very relaxing to watch!

I’m pretty sure you can still use a hose to check that huge crank baring 😆
The money make difference...thanks.
Good from Mysore Karnataka India 👌
It still amazes me that a piston and reciprocating crankshaft set up, the piston has to come to a complete stop in order to change direction. The piston has to stop. I'm surprised the idea works at all. We know that the reciprocating motion is turned into rotary motion but even so....
When you jump, you have to stop before accelerating back to earth. Does that amaze you?
@@hughcasey2311 You're being obtuse, but sure, try doing it 20,000 times per minute.
@@logotrikes f=ma, you weigh a lot more than a piston spinning 20k. Legs aren’t made of metal either. It’s all very easy to measure and design for.
Compared to the videos of South Asian guys in flip flops making crankshafts from melted scrap without any safety equipment, this is absolute UFO technology
this is how you turn steel into gold
i m here because i had to see how modern crankshafts are made after watching pakistani wizard make one in a cave .. with a box of scraps!
I like to see how Toyota makes millions of these a year.
what is with this insane drum and bass track
Amazing !
Big difference from watching the Pakistani's do it by hand.

Does surface hardening consume part of the metal? Does the diameter of the crankshaft trunnion decrease?
No the induction hardening process I to put a .030"tough skin on the journal's and con rod diameters , then it's finish ground to size.
Fantastico, increible; aunque me divierte mas ver a los pakistanies haciendo sus cigueñales a mano.

can someone tell me what type of liquid used on the quenching process
Water or oil
oil of course...
Unicorn semen
Not just water - it uses a polymer(?) quench additive.
I need a machine for turning auto engine parts such as crankshafts and cylinder rooms and the turning machine is fully computer controlled
These is good quality, aftermarket product do not do it this way.
Without a doubt, this isn't produced in Pakistan.
With decent editing and production, this could have been a great video. But it was just a randon selection of images :-(
how do people still not maintain engines after this
Thanks for sharing! Do you0 have the music name please?

What bizarre music played in the foundry.
Nice video
Thank you!..
Hmmm I need a stroker cam for my bmw m10 engine.
Love it
I am curious about how crankshafts are roughed out and indexed in a lathe. Obviously, I got click baited and will consult a different information venue if I am willing to chance wasting any more of my time.
With all those investments that have gone into producing internal combustion engines over a century, it is no wonder that the traditional car manufacturers resisted way too long to move to the way simpler electric motor. Some of them may have dragged it out too long for their own good now and it might be too late. I wonder how many of the old brands will survive (because the Chinese did not sleep when it comes to electric cars).
I will never buy an all electric vehicle. A hybrid at most, but doubtful. Everyone jumping on the electric bandwagon isn't considering the cost of recycling those huge batteries so they don't end up in a landfill. Then the limited range and time it takes to charge. Give me a simple diesel engine, that will run forever and can be fixed roadside, none of this Tesla BS where you pay for a vehicle but is always controlled by the manufacturer and it could leave you stranded bcs of a messed up software upgrade. No thanks.
Electric cars are the dumbest idea in modern transportation
So in contrast the Pakistani just cast them out of cast iron which is brittle and prone to breaking whilst it is supposed to be forged from strong steel and heat treated afterwards. Makes all the difference which material used and manufacturing method
