Having just bought a 2010 Kluger I've done an oil change. I watched this video up to taking out the filter. Missed the bit about the internal seal. I'll know next time. Great instruction!
Hundreds of likes, very detailed step by step, quality video and clear sound. Easy to understand all the technical tips! Keep the good work and the good videos up
Thanx bruv, a job I'll never have to pay for again, I didnt realise how easy it was to do yourself, well with an instructional vid like this how could anyone go wrong. Cheers Bro👌
Simple, clear and concise. A very well done video. Great work mate. I am an aircraft engineer with auto mechanic background too as a hobbyist so I appreciate good quality stuff like this! :-)
Usually when the drainbolt on the filter doesn't come off by itself, it's because it and/or the oil filter housing cap were not torqued correctly at the previous oil change. This is your fault if you are using a ⅜ extension in the drainbolt to tighten both the oil filter cap and drainbolt at the same time. Use a good oil filter cap wrench like the Motivx MX2320 to tighten the oil filter cap and then use the ⅜ extension to tighten the drainbolt making it half as tight as the oil filter cap. Oil filter housing cap = 25 N•m Oil filter housing drainbolt = 12.5 N•m (½ as much as the oil filter housing cap) Put the covers back on after starting the engine and checking for leaks. And really... Anything below the low mark is excessively low, anything above the high mark is excessively high. When do you check the cabin air filter? All in all, I gave you a thumbs up. Great quality video. Great attitude. Quite thorough and sufficient for the average DIYer.
Great tip on rotating the wheels front to back and avoiding the wifes gutter rash. I went up a size in tire to 265/50 and she can't get at the wheels now.
Awesome video and super envious of how clean that engine bay is! Any tips for getting it as clean as that? Mines been neglected since it’s been built I would say 😂
Thanks for an awesome vid. Really helpful after taking it to Toyota to get it done last time. Just wondering if it was worth getting my VVTi rattle looked at?(It only happens at startup)
thanks @driftcarsjp , do you have a complete flush not drain refill? also I do see on other models like hilux/triton but couldnt see the coolant flush one on kluger?
Hi Mate, do you know much about the gearbox / front diff whine these Klugers sometimes have? Mine is most prevalent around 70=80kms and quite loud, pretty annoying and from what I've found quite common.
Mine does the same thing, its the transfer you can replace if its quite bad but will be expensive. Next service I might try some heavier weight oil and see if that helps. When I worked for lexus the early RX350 that share the same platform as the kluger had a recall for the same issue. But it must not have been carried in to the later model klugers
@@driftcarsjp Ok thanks, so it's actually the transfer case and not the combined transmission / front diff? If so I'll change the transfer case fluid, I though it was the front diff. Cheers.
I bought an 08 and thought it had a bearing/diff whine but it was the All Terrain tyres thank god that made the noise, swapped them for Highway Tyres and can't believe the difference in noise
Did you have any videos done on the steering recall/clicking that toyota are yet to take on under their recall policy (its been done in the US since 2015...)
After serviced how to set dashboard odometer setting. My dashboard showing me setting “hold and press “what have to do please explain me thanks kluger 2017 Austrailia
Regarding the jack stand placement, my jack-stands don’t have a grove (u-shape) in them like yours. Makes it hard to place them under the rails without possibly causing damage. Do you have another recommended spot? Great video. Thanks
What's on the top of your jack stands? Most stands won't damage the rails. You can also put under the chassis rails or under the rear of lower control arm.
Thanks for the video mate. Where are you located? I might as well bring my car to you for servicing :) Considering Kluger takes 6.1lt engine oil. It is a pain to find 7lt engine oil bottles when someone like me only look to do 1 service a year. Nearly only 5000kms a years . Bases on your feedback I should be okay with 6lt bottle.
Does the noise sound like a shock and happens when cornering on bumpy road? I could be your steering column shaft. It's a common issue and just needs to be removed and greased. It's the lower half of your steering column.
U Tubers take note ! ....this is how a how to make a clear concise how to video ie no music no BS just the facts great work mate !

Great video, just brought a Kluger, thanks for the tips, any plans for a trans oil change vid ? Love too see. Cheers.
Ill be doing a coolant flush and auto oil and transfer and diff video soon.
Very good to service the car. Are you from Australia. I'm from Sydney. Thanks

Once the oil and filter have been changed, could you demonstrate how to reset the maintenance interval until the next oil change is due...?
Great Video. Well explained. Any thoughts on doing the next service as well, transfer oil, rear diff etc
Yep I can do that i also need to flush the coolant next service.. thanks for watching
What oil weights does your manual specify you can run?
very nice video

@ashwinrodrigues8773 no sorry . If my mates hilux starts doing it I'll do a video..

How much oil did you add all together?
Very good. Thanks.

@@driftcarsjp knock on steering wheel often happens every time i just make slow turn doesn’t matter bumpy surface or smooth .
