Seriously! I always do a double take when I see his view counts & I’m like “surely that’s missing at least two figures”. Keep it up dude & you’ll get there!
Awesome shots and nice catch of the ALC42 duo Edit: Yes NS is leasing the WFRX SD70MACs former BNSF on their system due to the shortage of locos they have
@NS1221Productions yes it is true, NS sold off 700 locomotives in 1 year, yeah UP and BNSF maybe have sold off a lot of engines combined, but separately they probably sold off not that much.
@@flowercityrails Bruh yes they did... BNSF and UP sold way more units than NS NS barely even had much of what they sold yet Stupid Beansniff and Lame UP sold like 1000+ of their SD70s
Check out the Saluda grade. Its old Southern Rail line that came into Norfolk Southern ownership then became abandoned in 2003. If you look up "what is the steepest railroad grade in the united states" it will pull up the Saluda grade. I'd say give it a look at because it is a beautiful sight to see even in its abandonment the pictures and beauty are like no other.
Great videos Jordie! I'm a 30-year engineer for the C&NW/UP here in Illinois and I have been to the Patch and nearby areas a few times. Did you manage to get to the curve at Mance. Definitely a must stop. Forget the bears, there are plenty of Mr. Clickers (rattlesnakes) in the rocks you have to keep an eye out for.
Also to add take a trip to the town Saluda NC that is where the grade crest at and the town is extremely lovely. You had the J90 i believe do a steam excursion back in the 70's I believe Can't fully remember, but I would say check it out. I got photos of the abandoned track its about 11 miles between Saluda and Tryon
If your looking for steep, I’d check out the mountain sub, it’s starts in Cumberland and goes to Grafton. Mountain has 4 grades (17 mile, Cranberry, Cheat River, and Newburg) 17 mile and Cranberry are the ones to check out 17 mile tops out at if memory serves me correctly at 2.5% and Cranberry tops out at 2.8% at a location know as Rodemer. Very worth it, my personal favorite place to watch trains.
Sorry I made a comment that you should check out sand patch grade.....on another vid... seems you have already been.... I go to sand patch / mance /fairhope alot Im from Cumberland......wouldlike to meet up with you up there sometime....I could show you the area.......... have been to the scenic steam train in cumberland ?
This railfan channel is underrated can't we agree?
yep
Jodie's videography is the most polished of the YT railfan channels.
Agree
YESSSS!!!!!

I remember watching all SD40-2 lashups on this grade....up to 7/8 all in notch 8 ...WOW WHAT A SOUND! I miss those days!
25:11 That horn is amazing!!
I saw all those connex's sitting on the track the other day in Cumberland with the Amazon face on them. Its was sitting still for a while.
You should see the tracks at Horseshoe Curve in PA.
HOLY CRAP! That's the most Prime containers I've ever seen on a single train.
You should totally come back to Grafton WV and hop over to Buckhannon WV, to catch the A&O railroad !
Awesome shots and nice catch of the ALC42 duo

*gets rid of 700 lcomotives*
“why are we having a power shortage?”

UP didn’t sell 1000 SD70Ms, if they did that would of been they’re entire fleet.
New Subscriber Here, nice views from the sand patch area and nice catch of the 911, keep up the good work.
Wonderful video today!
You was over on the "Patch". Wow on my list.
A brotha that watches trains, subscribed! stop slappin me in the face though!

Is Effingham going to be made into a video?

Hmmmm. I'd thought the grade from the Hudson River to West Albany was the steepest east of the Mississippi. Still used by Amtrak and a few CSX locals.
Bro you gotta come to the Buffalo and Pittsburgh while we still have SD60s. We have grades over 2%

First time watcher here. Nice content and good catches! I'd become a subscriber but i don't like getting slapped in the face all the time.
Steepest railroad grade? It ain't Sand patch. It was Sadula in NC, But the highest one in use today is the Mountain Sub in Maryland and West Virginia.
He means used today
@@Wesley45454 Still not the steepest
The steepest is probably somehwere in west virginia or virginia
@@NS1221Productions It is the most steepest active grade in the east
then explain why theres no pushers in this?
@@NS1221Productions There are, there not needed tho. since CSX loves to not do it they are at Rockwood, Connellsville and Cumberland.
Where is the steepest grade in the US?
