- I hike the Bacon Rind trail to spot wildlife and to check out the forest fire damage. Half of this hike is off trail. There was a lot of wildlife in this area.

Mountain Goats totally amaze me. How do they do what they do, and survive on those rocky ledges. Truly amazing animals.
It's so green in Montana this year with all the rain we have been getting. Mother north of Billings has 5' wild yellow mustard and garlic mustard, growing in her ditches, it's amazing how tall every weed and grass is and how green it all is. Gardner is so green too. I love Stan's channel, he hikes some rough in elevation trails. His camera work is pretty good also. thanks for sharing, Stan your the man!!!

good work,your videos remind me of when i was a youtuber,had my own channel,your hikes,the way you shoot your videos,from wild life to the scenery mirror my old channel and i was good too,so i know what kind of work effort goes into this, i filmed in Idaho, to do this in yellowstone as much as you do through out the seasons with out any bad incidents especialy with the wildlife means you know what your doing you have done your homework.
Love the effort in putting in quality cinematography for each hike. Have you ever done any hikes or bear scouting around Tom Miner Basin?

Chuck Littleton ...maybe good to add that YNP Region has 4 distinct seasons with annually Snow-Capped, Lofty Mountain Wilderness & not overcrowded most of the year!

Yes, at least for the first 3 miles. But most people don't go further than that and they will start to fizzle out.
I have never been on that road in the east area of the park because I hang around Lamar and mammoth. What map do you use it’s really cool.
_camdenc_ ..FYI! This hike is in the far Northwest corner of Yellowstone! Obviously by your comments you just said east, meaning west! I am not speaking for Stan!
I am just using Google Earth and doing a screen recording. I take the track that was recorded on my GPS and copy it into Google Earth and that is what you see on my video. Thank you for your comments.

Fun to see the woodpecker signaling on the snag. That behavior is not digging for grubs, it is "signaling." Fun Fact!

Enjoyed you video, but you need to take care about the trousers and boots you wear. All the rubbing together they did made it possible for wildlife to hear you coming a mile away. Tell the photographer that is with you he or she did a great job.

The sign said no hunting, but it needs to be a bit more descriptive, looks to me like you're hunting and shooting everything you see with your camera. 😁👍😊 HAHA
I do have a question concidering the number of bears in yellowstone how is it you manage to always keep them at a distance it seems there never in your path or you theres, is this just luck or do you put an effort forth to make this happen?
strong, thank you for you nice comments. To answer your questions; yes, I do make an effort to keep a safe distance but I still have close encounters which is always a surprise to me and the bear. In these cases things happen so fast that you have absolutely no time to pull out a camera and get a video going. Most of the time the bear reacts fastest and runs away quickly. In the times that I see the bear first I am going for my bear spray. While aiming my bear spray I am unable to grab a video camera.
@@StanMills ok makes sense,i have to give you credit for guts,when i had my channel in idaho i also carried protection but there are no grizzlies in the sawtooth only black bear,but now i live in northwest montana and its certainly a diferent hike with the grizz out there,thanks and keep up the good work.
