Since many rv's can't handle the tongue weight I wish trailer manufacturers would build motorsport trailers like this. Many racers would purchase these.
There is a company that builds and sells a dolly type of hitch that connects to the RV toll vehicle such as a gas or diesel motor home. This dolly type system carries the weight of the trailer - it looks similar to a dolly system that is used to towing a vehicle that it’s front tires are placed on it. The dolly type systems are very good sense not only do the carry the tongue weight of what your towing but it eliminates most all sway issues. I will try and locate one like I used to have many years ago. Thanks
A "wagon" would usually be a full trailer with the drawbar attached to the trailer's front (steering) axle, but this tows like a regular trailer with an extra castering front axle.
That could be turned into the ultimate in horse trailer luxury! With that wheelbase, it would be ultra stable and the ride would be pretty smooth. Plus, it would be great to be able to stay in the bus at night instead of sleeping in the same trailer as the horses. I love them but, they’re noisy. Foot stomping, whinnying, farting, snoring, rattling the feed buckets, bumping the gates, etc. People don’t know just how noisy they can be in a trailer! 😂 🐴🐴
I have one that has windows and matches coach, sort of, it's a wrap.. The previous owner of Competitive trailers semi-retired and sold the company several years ago. He told me he did about a dozen of this type of trailer.
The video says the trailer's front axle is "self steering", but that just means castered. A castered setup will not work well in reverse (that's why it's impractical to back up with a car towed four-wheels-down), so they could lock it out in reverse (making it really hard to turn) but it does appear to steer in reverse so perhaps they mechanically flip the caster the opposite way in reverse (as some buses did long ago).
Great hauler! Like to a little "air flow" design at the front of the hauler to reduce drag. Pretty you could order A/C units to make it liveable inside.
I think the company, or at least this product line, is long gone. I found a few listings and mentions of used units, all made in 2006 or prior. there is still a company by the name "Competitive Trailers' in the same area (Lake Havasu City, AZ) but with an entirely different phone number and not selling anything like this style of trailer.
Thing has to be sooo top heavy.Beautiful and design is flawless but I just see it jackknifed coming down a Mtn in the ice. Get it sideways a little hit a dry spot she’s going over. High wind in the desert. Thing is a sailplane. Hope it has a hand valve.I love it though honestly just needs a professional driver.Has to have tons of storage.
I guess if one can afford a 500 thousand dollar RV they can afford a 100 thousand dollar trailer. This is how the most basic of rv trailers should be made....minimum load hitching.
Get an old contrell 8 pack car hauler Turn the front box into the RV use the back box for the stuff. Pontoon boat and trailer up top 4door dually bottom. Harley in the nose.
Hello I recently bought one of these and it is really difficult to find out any information on them do you have any info or know where I could find out more? Thank you
@@bobbrown5117 these still being made? Any inventory avail that you know of? You know if this can be scaled down to smaller trailers vs the big RV units featured here? This is a GREAT idea to solve many recreational vehicle trailers (UTVs, ATVs, etc.); the steering system that is. Not everyone needs a stacker…..
I am interested in finding that trailer, can anyone help? The bus is a Liberty Coach build date 1998 number 401, I now own the trailer and would like to find the trailer
This amazing. Very much appreciate and like the front towing system.

It's called a trailer toad
Knowing how squirrely a car is on a towbar I can only imagine what this thing is like.
We used to call those, Wagons!
I call it a Vardo, based on a wagon. I am so with you

Sounds like my ex girlfriend
It would be stable, but it would also be a pain on turns because the trailer's rear wheels will run so far inside of the bus rear wheels in a turn.

Oh my gosh I need this trailer..
Beautiful ! It could use some painted on windows to match the bus...

I would use lock nuts instead of plain nuts. Or longer bolts with a nut and locking pin.
If you're referring to the nuts on the trailer side pivot of the tongue it looks like they used steel locking nuts.
WOW. I'd love to get a small version of this.
i believe Paul Tracy of IndyCar fame had one. great design, better than the other stacker trailers out there.
forget that stupid trailer, i want the blonde!!
I wonder what happened to the company. Why did it go out of Business. I would like to know how many were manufactured. Great Idea…
This is really cool . Did a search. Can't find anything else about this .

Just shows the massive excesses of the ultra rich.

Dam nice rig right there.

The video looks like it was shot around the turn of the century with a TV camera (and maybe it was)... makes it hard to see the details.
Wow. Nice.
Nuts.
I want one !,
Great shed
Wow a portable garage on wheels, I have and 💡 idea ,why not convert this into an additional living space or guest lounge.

If you feel that you need a trailer of that size, you have too much stuff. It's time to downsize.
So...
Dont be a hater just work harder and one day maybe you can earn one
She's Hot, Not the trailer
