Sean- I'm of similar age and just left Southern California to move back North to a small town in Oregon. The question I would be asking myself is what's keeping you in London? If Gardening and producing UA-cam videos is what you want to do, you can do that anywhere. If Wales can provide you with some breathing room financially and allow you to do what you want. Go for it. Best of luck on your decisions.
@@seanjamescameron as I've lived in Caerleon in Wales, and found it lovely. We're f4on Western North Carolina ancestrally. Am grateful for the time spent in Wales . Hope your transition is peaceful.
@seanjamescameron Im in western NC near cherokee and the great smoky mtn national park . It’s gotten so busy and expensive to live here. Unbelievable! Im being pushed out… very sad. It’s the new Florida for retirees. Fields are being turned into subdivisions and rv parks. Very interesting times here. I’ve been looking for a place to move to. Nothing keeping me here anymore. I’ve been a widow for 11 years and can go anywhere, nothing holding me down. Just don’t know where that is… houses still selling first week on market here and very expensive. So I’m trying to find a cheaper place to live .
Sean, if you move back to Wales, you could set up a whole new gardening association. You have the knowledge and determination. You may not know anyone if you move there but that would soon change. I reckon gardeners would flock to you.
IMO if Wales is where you want to end up and building relationships in the local community is important to you then go to Wales now, rather than waiting.❤ My personal experience is it's taken me 6 years to cultivate good relationships with my community. I can now call for help when needed and someone will answer.
Just do it and bring us along. The whole bit. The search, the packing, the moving, little chats here and there. I for one would love to see Wales. My family way back when are from Wales. Once again I’ve been loving your vlogs lately. The Gardening, the home stuff. Something has changed in your presentation and demeanor and I think a lot of us like it . I think you will be Happy if you go back home :)
Oh James! Yes, come back to Wales! I lived in and grew to love England over 15yrs when I immigrated there. Then moved to Wales and grew that same love in just 2 weeks! Never want to leave again. Having immigrated to a new country 34yrs ago and basically ‘immigrated’ to another UK country 18yrs ago, moving house 5 times in all 34yrs, it may be upheaval but moves can be so positive and promising. What an adventure!
Sometimes going back to our past, allbeit with changes is no bad thing. If this was 8 months ago id suggest up here to Scotland (Highlands) but seeing how things are now, i think you made the right decision moving back to the little Welsh Cottage, Tipsy & Amber are happier and i think you are as well. As depression being never far away from me, i feel in this vlog the uncertainty and underlying depression you have i pick up on. Best wishes Sean x
I'd always choose the country over the city. I think a move would add a new spice to life and your channel. I'm excited to see what comes of this idea of yours.
Somerset is where my ancestors are from. Maybe I and my family and cats should aim for there.Australia has never felt like home. It's in the hands of the gods.
I'm in U.S., lived in Seattle for 20 yrs. It's a gorgeous, hip place, but expensive and getting more pricey every year. I moved back to the Midwest two yrs ago, less desirable but very, very affordable. I have no regrets now that I'm used to it. Losing the financial stress makes such a difference in quality of life! You'll make the most of wherever you are and garden allotments, UA-cam provide great opportunities to meet like minded friends. Good luck!
Just do it Sean!!!! You’ve been talking about it for so long and it doesn’t have to be a long process once you’ve made your mind up. Move to Wales... it’s as cheap as chips! You don’t have to move to where you grew up, it can be a different area. Get a place with some land attached so you have your garden on your doorstep. Good luck and looking forward to seeing your progress
Wales is heaven on earth its tranquil, beautiful, the coastal areas are stunning from Aberystwyth to fishguard or st davids is such a gorgeous naturally beautiful area and property with outside buildings and garden are amazing good value compared to many other areas of the uk .id move in a heartbeat if i could sell my Worcestershire home
I would move if your heart desires because growing older in an expensive place is no fun if your heart and soul aren't in it any more 🤝🏻 I think Wales is calling you💜
The best move I every made (in 2015) was to return to Wales where I met my wife on a blind date way back in 1989... Never regretted it for a second & I love the space and calmer way of life!
Best move I ever made was getting out of London I have spent the last 20 years in Yorkshire no regrets at all I have plenty of countryside and a city centre if I need so best of both worlds.
Since you like gardening, I think it's an easy decision. Find a place in a rural area where you can have a big garden outside your back door. Are there any programs there to encourage people to rehab old abandoned cottages? That would make for good content. One similar channel I know of is Mossy Bottom. But he just moved from Ireland to Finland.
I left Sydney for Tasmania 4 years ago , best decision ever, did not know a soul but the pace of life and atmosphere is soooo different, I have a house on 2 half acres, drive to shops takes 1/2 hr but I hardly see another car and no traffic lights etc, drive in amazingly beautiful country side, I’ve relaxed and no longer stress about driving in ridiculous traffic and I must say saving money - everyone shares produce and are friendly …. Best decision I ever made, glad you made the move to beautiful Wales Sean
Hi Sean I know it's scary, but it's also exciting. I have a few thoughts / ideas. I believe the company that is in cahoots with CD has plots in a few areas. I know that there is one starting up in Worcester (midlandsish) at the moment. As you say don't rush, think it through. Autumn is a good time to take stock of our lives not just the garden. If and when you find somewhere you may be able to plan the wind down for next autumn on the old and at the same time starting the wind up of the new. If as you say your plan is to move in next 10 months you can plant for the coming season with this in mind with a good plan so as to make it easy for you to transition. I think I can speak for many when I say we are all excited for you too. As a cat mom I can say with confidence that as long as dad is there for them with good grub and lots of warmth and cuddles on their terms of course they will be happy. Happy gardening. Jayne.
I think you have to determine what it is you really want, is it a home or a home with a garden, or a garden. Then you have to ask yourself why you are hesitant about moving out of London, or more importantly returning to Wales. Is Wales a consideration only because of the memories attached to it, or have you always longed to go back. You have to be honest with yourself, your future depends on it, and your happiness with your future, more so. Only you know the answers to your questions.
We want something totally new but within my US State of Tennessee and hubby and I are 60 and he is 62. Making new friends, exploring new places and building a life and house we want and not a house someone else planned. We are so over ready for a change. A new adventure. We have been in Tennessee for the last 43 years. Hubby was born 1 mile from our house. Of course we would never ever live in or too near a large city.
hi Sean, i was 2 times in London but only as tourist , and in south wales the place was called castle martin but that was 20 years ago, you will fine a place in sure of it, here is my input on the matter: if you can't control how much income you generate, the only control you have is have much you spend, so the answer is pretty clear to me have a good one greeting form Canada
The great thing about renting is that you can move more easily so you could just move to Wales and try it. If you don’t like it, you could move back to London. I am aware that it isn’t as easy to find rental properties with pets and it always cost money to move ( I have rented most of my life) but moving might not be so scary if you know you can reverse it. At the end of the day, you need to be where you can be happy, or at least contented. If London is no longer this place, then just do the move. Do it when you are still young enough to establish new connections with the community around you. Have you considered maybe moving just outside London? It won’t be as cheap as Wales but it will be cheaper than London and it would still give you access to London( although train fares are so expensive…). We are in Buckinghamshire and although it isn’t cheap, it is cheaper than London. We have town and countryside side by side and lots of allotment sites. It might be worth looking at all the counties outside London and compare rent prices. If Wales keeps coming into your mind, give it a go. If it doesn’t work out, try again nearer London. It is never easy to move but you will get there I am sure, you are a strong person. 🌸💕
I seems that you are afraid that if you went back to Wales, it wouldn't be like it used to be, just think of it as a new place because you will be meeting new people. I always lived in bigger town and now I live in a small town and love it. I actually do more things in a small town than I did in the city because it is much safer. I vote for Wales. It is a beautiful place
If you love London stay Sean. Grass always seem greener some where else. Rusty allotment seems like home. You might have always have been home all along 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Well, obviously you’re now in wales but, I’d of suggested south Lincolnshire… our farmers practically beg us to take the over spill of veg from the farms. Bit flat across here though. But the sea is lovely. 😊
Due to work I ended living in London but on reaching retirement there was no point. The good thing was I had paid for my house which meant I could live anywhere. Like you I thought about going back home to the Dales. But we did not, we missed the children and grandchildren. East Sussex is a good place to be lots, going on. Village live is good scenery is great lots of History. Just do it Sean it does not have to be Wales.
My dream is going to London- i am in a small town un upstate NY. You see, i follow Corinne Drewery; she was in music group ' Swing out sister ' 🎶 She seems very nice but when I'm on her Facebook page she doesn't write comments to me. London seems interesting & I'm sure it's gorgeous ⭐
Go with the hiraeth if it's calling you I did 36 years ago from Liverpool to North Wales never regretted it my roots were in another area of Wales but I have many friends here you are the type to fit in well
It is a big change so the trepidation you seem to be feeling is understandable. But the good news is that you mentioned there are cheaper rooms to rent in London than where you currently live. So itd be mighty easy to move back if you change your mind after moving to Wales.
Sean, I returned to my home town because I missed family, but after two weeks, I realised family didn't miss me.That was hard. But, if you remember that you can't put your foot in the same river twice, I would look at somewhere near your home area, not necessarily your home town.It will be different, there will be different people but go...go and just trust that the universe will provide.Of course the cats will go too. They are family. I was kicked out because I was too old at 70, after 13 years of creating a garden from nothing. And my family were homeless because their rental was full of mould, the fault of an irresponsible landlady and ignorant agents. We were all moving from Australia to Ireland, sick of the heat, droughts, bushfires, snakes. Then my daughter got cancer.I am spending my small inheritance on a seaside mansion, all of us together, but we will be homeless again in 6 months. My dream of Ireland remains but I don't know what my life or my family will be like.I am doing my best to trust the universe will provide, and us and the cats will have a home, and garden, somewhere on this planet. All the best, from Kaye. 🐈⬛
Good video plan. Give yourself a break and space to plan. I restrict my videos normally to 2 in December and use time for celebration and planning. Reset for the next year. It’s a perfect time to make changes. Forget new year plans. Think future direction. As to videos. This year I’m just going to make shorts and slightly longer vids once a week. It’s your channel. You can do whatever you like. 😊
I remember this chat, what will you do. Sometimes just jumping blindly for a month - go look around stay in friends, or airbnb, and find something for the 1st of the next month.
I live in South Wales, I would say view a move back to Wales as if it's a new place as it will have changed from your memory. Have a look first if any area has allotment sites. Whether its Wales, Norfolk or anywhere else. Such a hard decision for you to have to make. Would it help to write down essential bullet points for lifestyle you live. A list without any emotion just facts. Then look at areas you fancy and apply the list. Apologies if you already have done this. Best of luck.
Get out of London. Get freah air. New friends can be made. If there isn't the club you need start one. Life throws us such curve balls but fresh starts can be for the vey best. You have support on here. ❤
Hi Sean I think you should stop faffing about and set the wheels in motion for moving back to Wales. You are still young and fit enough to establish yourself in the community you long for with a much cheaper life style and a less stressful life. Go for it and good luck in whatever you decide. Steve.
Norfolk and Suffolk are both beautiful 😍 It sounds as though you are talking yourself into moving and then talking yourself out of it. Maybe it's because you're just not sure atm?
Follow your dreams and instincts 🪶I’m 62 and live with this saying in my heart “I don’t know where home is ,but I’m on my way” As a Welshman you should be familiar with the word HIRAETH…..sending love and positivity…your cats 🐈⬛🐈will love anywhere you’re happy ❤🙏🏻
If money was no issue and you could live anywhere you choose, do you know exactly where you would like to be? Going up in December, like you mentioned in the comments is definitely a good idea. 💚🙏💚
Have you got friends or family that you can move nearer too. If not small town life would be the go. When your talking it sounds like wales is the place that calls to you. With renting though you could try a few places and not lock yourself in to any place. You will know the area when you find it. Why don’t you get a van that you can overnight in and travel around. Put your stuff in storage. Rent somewhere small in wales that will take you and cats and do day trips, travel around the area. See what spot you might like to settle in. What calls to you. Rent somewhere for 6 months and then if you don’t like it move on.
20 years in London has gone very quickly. The next 20 years in Wales could go very slowly. They tell football managers to never go back. Were you happy as a young man in your home area? In London as a Welshman doing videos you are unique. In Wales your accent will make you the same as everybody else. I fully understand the financial consideration but London is so stimulating and the Wanstead Tap is a long way from Carmarthenshire.
You have endless options, which is a problem in itself! If you go back to Wales you will be familiar with the place that was but the place and people of today will be like any new place you relocate to. It also seems to me that you may have a lot of history to offer the area as it is now. But it will all be very different, no question! Visit the area you grew up in, but try other places too….. it’s a wonderful chance to explore the future!
I love that word, secateurs. Don’t hear that here in America. Im going to begin using it. Do you have a mailing address? I thought of something I should send to you, but didn’t know if you had a P.O. Box or not that you share.
Hi Sean, Im new to your channel. How are things now? Where can i find your most recent video and are you alone in this journey? Do you have kids and a partner and how are the cats? Best of luck mate, Stu
Partsof lincolnshire and norfolk are really lovely not too crowded, near the sea and the houses have outside space . I dont know where the you tuber Tony smith lives but its truly beautiful where he lives .
Try Hull mate. East Yorkshire. Just as cheap as Wales. Lots of al;lotments around here. Get yourself out of London, as it will be no place to be next year, the way the country's going.🤪
Moving out London my be good desion going back wales should be going if cheper north wales is lover place to live lots villages in North Wales great video

Planning a visit in December.
Go back to Wales. Will soon go to Pembrokeshire for a holiday. If it is good enough for a holiday it is good enough to live there IMHO.😜🏴
One thing you can always visit London if you move away. How long does it take by train from say Wales to London..?
Get out of London. Get freah air. New friends can be made. If there isn't the club you need start one. Life throws us such curve balls but fresh starts can be for the vey best. You have support on here. ❤
we moved to lincolnshire ive allways regretted it i now long to move home
Hi Sean I think you should stop faffing about and set the wheels in motion for moving back to Wales. You are still young and fit enough to establish yourself in the community you long for with a much cheaper life style and a less stressful life. Go for it and good luck in whatever you decide.
Steve.
Norfolk and Suffolk are both beautiful 😍
It sounds as though you are talking yourself into moving and then talking yourself out of it. Maybe it's because you're just not sure atm?
Sean you might already be at home. You don’t realise it yet sweetie ♥️
where ever your heart lays is where you belong!
One day i hope i find it too.
💚🙏💚
PS, I would love to see Wales on your channel.😊
Have you got friends or family that you can move nearer too. If not small town life would be the go. When your talking it sounds like wales is the place that calls to you. With renting though you could try a few places and not lock yourself in to any place. You will know the area when you find it. Why don’t you get a van that you can overnight in and travel around. Put your stuff in storage. Rent somewhere small in wales that will take you and cats and do day trips, travel around the area. See what spot you might like to settle in. What calls to you. Rent somewhere for 6 months and then if you don’t like it move on.
I wanted to move back to Wales but left it too long and I do regret it
Come to cornwall
Sean just do it. If you don’t like it move back.
Go and have a look see. You’ll not make a decision until you have a look see then have a better idea what you like or don’t like. Go.
Am going back in December for a visit.
Really enjoy your channel, but it's really confusing when you put up old videos!
Everything will settle down at the end of this year.
You are amazing. You enlighten us all ❤
Move to rural France with me , ❤❤❤
20 years in London has gone very quickly.
I'll have to get them into live streaming from the Tap.
Sean your over thinking this like I said in your last video just do it
I love that word, secateurs. Don’t hear that here in America. Im going to begin using it. Do you have a mailing address? I thought of something I should send to you, but didn’t know if you had a P.O. Box or not that you share.
PO details at seanjamescameron dot com in the Contact section.

On the rare occasion when my ducks have been in a row they have taken off never to be seen again.
