- From the 'Sheer Heart Attack' Album, 1974.
"Now I'm Here" is the band's second single in the album. Written by May while at the hospital, it was recorded during the last week of the sessions, with May playing piano. The song relies a lot on delay machines, foreshadowing "The Prophet's Song".
Lyrics:
Here I stand (here I stand..)
Look around around around around
(around around around around..)
But you wont see me (you wont see me..)
Now Im here (now Im here..)
Now Im there (now Im there..)
Im just a just a new man
Yes you made me live again
A baby I was when you took my hand
And the light of the night burned bright
And the people all stared didnt understand
But you knew my name on sight
Whatever came of you and me?
Americas new bride to be
Dont worry baby Im safe and sound
Down in the dungeon just peaches and me
Dont I love her so?
Yes she made me live again yeah!
A thin moon me in the smoke screen sky
Where the beams of your love light chase
Dont move dont speak dont feel no pain
With the rain running down my face
Your matches still light up the sky
And many a tear lives on in my eye
Down in the city just hoople and me
Dont I love him so dont I love him so?
Whatever comes of you and me
I love to leave my memories with you
Now Im here (now Im here.)
Think Ill stay around around around
(around around around around..)
Down in the city just you and me
(down in the city just you and me...)
Absolutely classic rock. Brilliant song by the very modest Brian May. One of Queen's best tracks. Love it!
Brian May......wow....what a guitarist!
I like how the “Now I’m here” and “Now I’m there” goes from one ear to the other
just realised.... hearing this now, singing along, after listening to Queen since 1982... that this is one of my favourites. I have so many favourites, it's just... right now, this takes me back... and I'm in exactly the same place. lol.
but s the song draws to a close, I instantly become aware of the next song before it even starts and can't wait to hear it.... but in this case, I'm playing it again.
Great song.

Started the Sheer heart attack show with this Liverpool Empire 1 November 1974
I was fortunate enough to have someone in my life to point me in the direction of Queen's incredible music prior to "Another One Bites the Dust". I am so appreciative that he led me to the earlier, wonderful Queen albums.
Great Song!
R.I.P Freddy.

Brian May is just a God!
STILL an amazing classic track that makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck almost 37 years after first hearing it. Timeless
I saw Queen in Nov 1974 at Bradfords St Georges Hall. Fab times.

"Now I'm Here" is the sixth song on the band's third album, "Sheer Heart Attack", 1974, notable for its hard riff and vocal harmonies. Lyrically, the song draws on May's fond experiences of the band's US tour, supporting Mott the Hoople, which had taken place earlier in 1974. The aforementioned band are referenced explicitly: "Down in the city, just Hoople and me."
The song also appeared on the 1981 compilation album "Greatest Hits", and the 1997 compilation album "Queen Rocks". In March 2005, Q magazine placed "Now I'm Here" at number 33 in its list of the 100 Greatest Guitar Tracks of all time.
Brian May is LEGEND!!!!!!!!
Remember Def Leppard covering this song at the Freddie Mercury tribute, "Concert for Life."
Me listening to the intro with head phones 👁👄👁
A very great song but into The Netherlands it whas not the begin from Queen the folowing record Killer Queen that's the begin for The Netherlands with good music from the UK.Thanks people and listen.
Space Travelers. See you in paradise.
When this album was released it coincided with my family going on summer hols and leaving me home alone for the first time as a hormone incited raging 17 YO!! Wow I had some parties going on! The local honey's didn't know what hit them! It was bikes, sex, booze, more sex, music, more sex, for 3 weeks! This album was heavy on the play list along with Zepp, PIL, Bowie, Cooper, etc etc. Dunno how I survived, there was Police intervention on 2 occasions, but what a time and I managed to prevent any damage to the house and stuff! The game was up though when a couple of the less tolerant neighbors grassed me up to my parents!
Ok okegehm, the lyric isDown in the Dungeon just Peaches and Me (don't I love her so) , thenDown in the dungeon with ,Hoople and Me (don't I love him so) got it? I remember that after 35 yrs.
@SlightlyMadNyx13 Same .... I learnt to sing as a boy ..rocking out to this album !!!
@stellastarr69 Peters & Lee (an early 70s duo) was one of those possibly deliberate mishearings. Our Latin teacher said it every time we played this song in school
why this song never play on radio?
anne-marie b. During theWorks tour. Republicans in America banned Queen from the airwaves at as many radio stations as they could.
@roadrashsuxass I don't want to listen to any Queen except old Queen, which is Freddie Mercury,Brian May,Roger Taylor, and John Decon. Queen with anyone else is NOT Queen. PERIOD!
@stellastarr69 I KNOW!I wrote to Brian May ``WHAT HAPPEN WITH HER?WHYYY?HOW?WHO??``.Its crazy!!!
One of the better queen songs not a fan of old school lover boy
Probably the only song who's lyrics mention Peters and Lee...
Ok okegehm, the lyric is Peaches and Me (don't I love her so) , then ,Hoople and Me (don't I love him so) got it? I remember that after 30yrs/
down in the dungeon with Peters & Lee (remember them?)

@catkisser
Amen. I am sooooooo sick of Another, We will and Bohemian. Great songs, sure but their pretty much the only Queen songs played commercially.
2020?
Just read that Lady GaGa might be the new vocalist for Queen. WTF?
@stellastarr69 I fucking hope not!
