    For so many years I just assumed Resist Magicka resisted all magicka in some way or another. I never knew it didn't do jack-diddley against elemental spells. You learn something everyday.

      Yea funny stuff for sure, but if you have absorb or reflect magic high enough then those DO work on elements=]
      So who has ever made a High Elf to be the Wiz & tried to get 100% absorb magic w/ Atronach?
      OR the more crazy one... to negate the double damage -%100 weakness of Apprentice with %100 reflect magic? I tried to do that because I thought it would double the damage reflected back at them LoL

    Honestly, I love keeping a frost damage kit in my back pocket just for dealing with Dunmer. More magicka efficient than shock and works just aswell. Then just swap back to fire.

    • @AlexG0080
      @AlexG0080 7 місяців тому +2

      Yeah, when you study the elemental resistances of Creatures and NPCs, you will see that everything that resists Fire and Frost also resists Shock an equal amount, and the Golden Saint is the only Creature that resists Fire, Frost and Shock, but not Poison. If you want to use Destruction to maximize the damage you deal per Magicka spent, making a Fire and a Frost version of all of your general use attack spells works better than doing so with Fire and Shock since Frost is cheaper than Shock. If you add any additional effect to the Frost spell (such as Weakness to Frost) it will override the slowness of Frost magic, too.

    The best damage is Enchant Damage. Go Breton, get Savior's Hide. Get your enchant up to 100, make an Exquisite Belt with constant effect 5-10 Fortify Enchant. Unquip and re-equip it until you get the +10 Enchant. Now all your cast when used/strike charge costs are reduced to 1. Get a Daedric Towershield. Enchant it with Weakness to Magic 100% for 1 second and 19 feet on Touch and Absorb Health 100 points for 5 seconds and 20 feet on Touch. Damage is calculated during the instance of effect application, so even if Weakness to Magic only has a 1 second duration, it will still double Absorb's damage per tick for all 5 seconds.
    With a Golden Saint Soul, you get 400 Charges, which amounts to 400 Casts with 110 Enchant skill. Use Almalexia's soul? 1500 casts. Completely unnecessary. Each cast is a nuke that strips magic resistance (but not immunity) and deals 1000 Magic Damage over 5 seconds in a massive area, while healing the caster for 200 Health per second for 5 seconds per enemy hit. Hit 5 targets? Get 1000 Health per second for 5 seconds for 5,000 total.
    What about enemy reflect effects? No need to worry. Breton + Savior's Hide maxes out your magic resistance, granting you immunity to the spell should it be reflected, as magic immunity prevents weakness to magic from stripping your resistances.
    The only enemy in the game who is immune to the spell is Gedna Revel; otherwise everyone else is cannon fodder.
    Tips: This enchantment is insanely expensive should you try to pay for it. Build up a decent restoration skill, make 9 different spells that all Fortify Enchant 100 points for 15 seconds, and stack them before crafting the Shield yourself. With 1010 enchant, even this monster of an enchantment can manage a 100% success ratio.

    Fun Morrowind fact:
    Enemies know your resistances. By instinct, I guess. Or Sheo's been spreading rumours.
    If you enchant your entire wardrobe so that combined you're fully immune to magicka and all elements, no enemy will attempt to cast a spell against you.

      did you pick the atronach stone? if you did, you have a "free" source of magicka, cos you can attack your spellcasting summons (like the ancestral spirit) for a chance to absorb their spells for magicka.
      remember to quicksave before you attack.
      and just quicksave often in general.

    • @HPD1171
      @HPD1171 2 роки тому +2

      same here and this is my first Altmer build in this game and i have always avoided them because those weaknesses scared me a bit having always picked Breton or Dunmer for my mage as both have very strong resistances. But so far it is a really strong build and once you steal the saviors hide from Master Aryon it counters the weakness to magic completely but you still have the elemental weakness but that is okay as most magic is non elemental effects but given the massive magic pool of 4.5xINT that is a very acceptable trade off.
      I even try experimenting with a tank paladin style build with the Atronach stone and my though was that since your not really using magicka often then its essentially an separate 50% resistance to ALL harmful spell effects and when playing as a Breton or Dunmer
      (Nord too but there is not a lot of frost spells used so their frost resist is not fully realized) it just allows you to just mow through those mages while shrugging off most of the spell damage.
      Basically i have come to realize that the Atronach stone is not just for mages but every build can benefit from it as there are a lot of strong magic users you will come across in this game.

      @@HPD1171 Fun fact about Spell Absorb effects, like Atronach: the amount of magic you Absorb from incoming spells is determined by the amount of magnitude. Weakness to Element/Magic effects actually increase the spell magnitude.
      Meaning that Altmer Absorb 50% more Magicka from Magic and Fire Based spells, and 25% more from electric and frost spells.
      Altmer + Atronach not only scores you a massive magicka pool; it also recovers more magicka from Absorbed Spells.

    Basically I’d say as a mage go with every element you prefer, make a strong spell for that element, learn witch enemies have a resistance against it and use a damage health spell for them (unlike absorb health it’s destruction, deals magic damage so it’s essential for enemies with high elemental resistances later on, very inefficient though)
    Either switching between fire and ice (most cost effective and covers nearly every enemy in game) or going only shock (more expensive but cooler if you ask me and you have one more free slot in your hot bar) is the most efficient way to go.

    • @stormmaster108

      I like to have key bindings for some spells and know the spells near it in the list. This way, I can quickly select a lot more spells by using "next spell/previous spell" on the mousewheel. For example, if I have Greater Fireball, Greater Shockball, and Greater Frostball, it is enough to have a binding for just one of them.
      So I have the more urgent spells accessible this way (quick access plus 1 or 2 positions), and the less important ones just take a little longer to select (say, 5 positions away from the binding key). So I almost never need to open the spells' list and can just go on playing without interruptions.

    Something to add to this. It costs more magic to cast but really helpful to put a weakness to an element part to the spell of a duration of a at least a few seconds. What that will do is make that elemental damage hit a lot harder which means less casts needed to deal with an enemy.Especially effective against undead and fire damage. That added weakness to fire damage shreds undead. Using weakness to element will also remove the immunity so if you want to flex and kill a fire atronauch with a fire spell it is doable.

    • @jakacresnar5855
      @jakacresnar5855 Рік тому +1

      you don't need more than 1 second since the weakness is applied per cast to the first and all subsequent ticks, not per tick. So 1 sec 100% weakness is enough for crazy powerful spells. If you have Fire Damage 3sec all 3 secs of fire damage will have 100% weakness applied.

Weakness to Fire is a magical effects that reduces resistance to fire ( same thing with Poison, Frost, Shock ), so since it's a magical effect you can just put Weakness to magicka and then weakness to a certain element, and it'll increase damage incredibly high. And without exaggeration you can kill Fire Atronach with Fire 😂 using weaknesses. And wanted to say that this vid is cool because i didn't really know the speed of spells, it's great to learn something in Morrowind.

      But in all seriousness at least Altmer have a reason for having a weakness to shock even though it is their smallest weakness and not really that noticeable.
      My only guess is Bethesda attempting to balance the resists more across the races as fire is the most common elemental effect and frost being very rare. So it would be silly to have a race that is only immune to something they may encounter once or twice in their entire playthrough so they get shock as an extra to help "balance" them if there is such a thing in a Bethesda game.

You are way too twitchy and animated to constantly rely on full screen shots of you talking while the camera chaotically zooms in and out. I realize it might take more time but adding more in-game shots showing what your talking about might help to alleviate the eye strain your current editing creates. Or even toning down the animated movements and/or camera zooms. Not a personal attack just thoughts from one perspective. Cheers!
